Chapter 10: - Basic Testing

Not only was Xiao Chen’s name spread among the famous disciples, but even the Ninth Courtyard of the Outer Gate had something to hear about it. Before the start of the Outer Gate Ceremony, many people speculated that Xiao Chen would definitely choose the first courtyard. As expected, Xiao Chen was coming.

At the age of 18, he reached at the Huangji Realm entry point, and the basic conditions were fully met. Now, the woman leads Xiao Chen personally into the first courtyard.

Unlike other sword academies, the First academy was a bit chilly, but it was also normal. At the request of the first academy, there are only a few people who can become disciples of the first academy.

As they went towards the main hall of the First Academy, the girl also gave Xiao Chen a brief introduction of the First Academy.

The girl was Chen Linger, she was 22 years old, and reached the Huangji Realm.

From the words of Chen Linger, Xiao Chen came to know that there were 160 disciples in the entire first academy. If Xiao Chen can pass the examination this time, he will become the 161st disciple.

It must be said that the number of more than one hundred disciples is indeed too small. The number of other sword academies was more than 1000 disciples, but on the other hand it had been proved that the requirements of the first academy were really strict. The first Academy only accept the talented geniuses.

As Xiao Chen and Chen Linger arrived, an elder in the first courtyard had already waited there.

He was a middle aged man, dressed in a simple blue suit. Chen Linger gave a courtesy to the elder and said: “Elder Mu, this is Xiao Chen, 18 years old. He had reached Huangji Realm at this age and chose the First Courtyard.”

Upon hearing Chen Linger’s words, the middle aged man nodded lightly, and then looked up and looked at Xiao Chen.

He had also heard of Xiao Chen’s name as the best of the group of registered disciples. As the elder of the first courtyard, he will naturally pay attention.

“I’m in charge of this evaluation. Xiao Chen, although you are very much talented, but it doesn’t mean you can pass the assessment of the first academy. If you fail, you will not be able to enter even the other sword academy, and you will simply miss this opportunity, and before we start, I will give you another opportunity to consider, are you sure you want to choose the first academy?” After looking at Xiao Chen, Elder Mu said slowly.

Everyone had only one chance to choose the Sword Academy, and once they failed, they lost their chance to become a disciple of the East Sword Pavilion.

Hearing the words of Elder Mu, Xiao Chen nodded without hesitation: “Thank you, Elder Mu, for reminding me that, but I will not change my mind.”

“I thought about it long before I came here. This is the first house of the Outer Gate. This is the place where I belong. The East Sword Pavilion is full of powerful disciple, but I always wanted to go to the First Academy, which is full of genius disciple, it shines its own light and writes its own legend.” Xiao Chen said in his heart.

Without any hesitation, his eyes were firm and clear, and he heard Xiao Chen’s answer, and nodded his head with satisfaction.

Talent is important as a first-academy student, but heart is also important, and if you don’t have that confidence, how can you be a first-academy student?

The first impression of Xiao Chen was very good, and the next was to start the examination.

The assessment of the whole first academy is divided into two steps, the first step is the basic test.

The foundation is always the most important, and if a person does not lay the foundation in building and opening his veins, then even if he breaks through the Huangji Realm, he is not a superficial one.

Elder Mu took out a small sized jade stone from his own ring and said:

“This stone is called a test stone, and it injects its own spiritual power into it. It will shine different light depending on the firmness of the foundation, from low to high, white light, green light, blue light, purple light, and gold light, and only those who achieve purple light can be considered qualified. ”

In the room where Elder Mu spoke, dozens of disciples from the first academy had already gathered outside the main hall.

Originally, the number of disciples in the First Academy was small. The dozens gathered at this time were already nearly half of the disciples in the first academy, and they all came to see what they could do for those who might become new disciples in the first Academy.

Under the spotlight, Chen’s right hand slowly printed on the base stone, and then his own energy poured into it. Then, a light came out from the stone.

First the white light, but soon it turned into green light, and then the blue light, finally the purple light, which means that the foundation of Chen has met the requirements of the First Academy, but it’s not over, and after the purple light has come out, there’s a golden light looming.

In just over ten breaths, the purple light receded and turned into a dazzling golden light.

“The golden light……. Is it possible that I’m going to have another ultimate foundation?”

Seeing the golden light shine, many of the first-courtyard disciples’ facial expression had changed. They were all genius but the person who could reach the golden light, should be consider as the ultimate disciple and broke the ultimate foundation. There were only four people in the First Academy, who were consider as ultimate disciple, now Xiao Chen include his name in it. He was the forth ultimate disciple.

The ultimate disciples were considered as the real talent of the first courtyard. They liked by everyone. Seeing the golden light, there was a flash of excitement in the eyes of the Mo elder. They had found the ultimate disciple of the First Academy.

The basic test stone test was finished. Xiao Chen built the foundation limit, and naturally passed the foundation level. The next test was basic sword method.

Just like the foundation, Sword Method was also very important. It was not a basic simple method, but almost every set of sword method can be said to have evolved from the basic sword method.

When Xiao Chen heard this request, he said nothing, and in front of everyone, he displayed the basic sword method directly.

The simple ways of stabbing, picking, splitting, teasing, hanging, and so on, the basic methods of sword, were all played out by the Xiao Chen.

The simple tricks also looked different in Xiao Chen’s hand, and such a feeling can only be possessed after reaching the environment.

“Environmental Limit! Nice. Nice”

Two tests in a row, Xiao Chen was perfect in both of the test. Whether it was foundation-based or basic sword method, he performed nicely. Everyone was impressed, even the Elder Mo, who was practicing the Heaven and Earth Realm, could not find any fault in his performance.

“This person is called Xiao Chen, he had reached the ultimate foundation building, the limit of the environment, and it is not an easy task, so it seems that the First Courtyard is getting lively again…..”

“Humph, a new disciple, even if he has some talents, he must be a dragon and a tiger for at least one year.”
