Chapter 67: - Harvesting Profound Spirits, Fierce Fighting Against Ghosts

On his way deep into the core area of the Bailing Cemetery, Xiao Chen did not encounter any other Heavenly Pride on the way, thinking about it, the four Bailing Cemeteries were linked together, how huge the area was. It was not easy for the eighteen Heavenly Pride to meet in it, and only when everyone found enough Profound Spirits and eventually met in the centre of the Bailing Cemetery could a real battle break out.

No one would take the initiative to find each other in this first stage, as everyone’s goal was focused on breaking through the Xuan Yuan realm.

Along the way, soon, Xiao Chen was lucky enough to encounter the first Profound Spirit, humanoid and emitting a faint white light, but it was very illusory.

Floating slowly in the air, as if being blown away by the wind, Xiao Chen saw Profound Spirit for the first time with his own eyes, Xiao Chen’s eyes flashed with a touch of excitement, and then without hesitation, his body moved fiercely, directly grabbing at the Profound Spirit.

As if feeling the danger coming, suddenly accelerated and retreated backwards like lightning, dodging Xiao Chen’s attack.

The speed was extremely fast, and it was obvious that it was not a simple matter to capture the Profound Spirit, first of all, you had to be able to catch up to it, or else you would not be able to capture it at all.

In the previous Bailing Cemetery, basically, three elite disciples had to work together to successfully capture a Profound Spirit, but now, Xiao Chen had no helpers around him, so he could only rely on himself.

The Clear Shadow Step was performed, and his figure transformed into a sword light, chasing after the direction where the Profound Spirit had fled, running thousands of meters along the way, before Xiao Chen caught up to the Profound Spirit.

Without hesitation, he stretched out his hand and grasped it, his body’s spiritual energy spurted out, immediately grasping the Profound Spirit’s neck, and then through his own spiritual energy, in a short span of more than ten breaths, Xiao Chen refined the Profound Spirit into a Profound Spirit Pill.

Profound spirit does not have any attack power, so as long as you can keep up with the speed, you can usually capture it, but it is not easy to keep up with Profound Spirit. At the Huangji realm level, there are probably only top evildoers like Xiao Chen.

After successfully capturing the first Profound Spirit and putting away the Profound Spirit Pill, at the same time, a creepy scream could be heard from in front of Xiao Chen, only to see a grievous ghost that was emitting black air all over its body was rapidly attacking this way.

These grumbling ghosts were not products of the Bailing Cemetery, but had been put in by the masters in order to make things more difficult for Xiao Chen and the others.

The Grievance Ghost was extremely aggressive, and although it had no sentience, its killing instinct made it extremely strong, and as long as you did not completely destroy it, the Grievance Ghost would not retreat.

This was a Grievance Ghost comparable to the Huangji Extreme Realm Great Perfection, the Green Cloud Sword was directly sheathed, the Inflammatory Fire Sword Technique was performed, and in one stroke, Xiao Chen fiercely attacked the Grievance Ghost with a fiery red Inflammatory Fire Sword Qi.

A grievance ghost wasn’t much of a threat to him, but if he encountered a group of grievance ghosts, it would be a bit troublesome, and he secretly decided in his heart that he should be more careful not to be surrounded by a group of grievance ghosts, or else it would be difficult to get out.

After killing the grumbling ghosts and obtaining another Profound Spirit Pill, Xiao Chen continued to search for Profound Spirits, meanwhile, others had likewise entered the core area at this time and a number of them had also obtained their first Profound Spirit Pill.

It was imperative to race against time to break through the Xuan Yuan realm, so the crowd was all not relaxing at all, entering the core area from all directions, and everyone was making their way to the centre.

It was conceivable that after the crowd of heavenly pride had crossed the core area to the central location of the Bailing Graveyard, they would meet, and at that time, this first stage of the competition should be over, followed by a head-on collision.

Travelling in different directions towards the central location of the Bailing Cemetery at the same time, slaying grievous ghosts and harvesting Profound Spirits along the way, this was only the first stage, and the second stage would be the battle after everyone met at the central location, and by then, if anyone hadn’t broken through the Xuan Yuan realm, the result could be imagined.

A whole three days passed while searching for Profound Spirits and at the same time slaying the grievous ghosts that blocked the way and Xiao Chen still hadn’t traversed the core area, not even one-fifth of the distance.

It had to be said that after the four Bailing Cemeteries were connected together, the area was really too large, and coupled with the fact that one still had to search for Profound Spirits, the speed was not very fast, and it would take at least a month to traverse the core area.

Moreover, along with going deeper and deeper into the area, Xiao Chen discovered that the number of Grievance Ghosts was increasing, and until today, the Grievance Ghosts that Xiao Chen had encountered already started to form groups, and he had almost never encountered any more Grievance Ghosts that were left alone.

It seemed that in order to fight the other pride, one had to pass the test of the grievance ghosts, and if the situation continued, one would definitely encounter the attack of the grievance ghosts, and if one could not defeat the grievance ghosts, one would not be able to pass the core area, let alone meet the other pride.

Time passed day by day, after half a month, the proud people had already passed half of the journey, but as they went deeper and deeper, their speed became slower and slower, by now, everyone was travelling during the day and finding a safe place to rest at night.

There was no other way, there were already a lot of resentful ghosts. Every time you encounter a resentful ghost, there were at least ten or more came in its place. It was definitely unwise to fight a grievance ghost in the dark, so the crowd could only choose to rest after nightfall.

The speed has slowed down even more, but after half a month, the gains of the arrogances are not small, almost everyone has dozens of profound spirit pills.

Sitting on the trunk of a big tree, Xiao Chen already possessed fifty-eight profound spirit pills, but that was not enough. According to Xiao Chen’s plan, he would need at least hundreds of profound spirits to break through the Xuan Yuan realm.

An ordinary profound spirit martial arts would not be able to enter Xiao Chen’s eyes, Xiao Chen’s goal was a perfect profound spirit martial arts, so the number of profound spirit pills required would be much higher. At the same time, with enough profound spirit pills, whether or not, one can achieve a perfect profound Martial Body would still depend on his own talent.

Sitting cross-eyed with closed eyes, Xiao Chen was caught in the cultivation, and he didn’t know how long it had passed. In the darkness, Xiao Chen keenly felt the aftermath of the battle coming, and he was not far away.

Slowly opening his eyes, he looked towards the direction of the battle aftershocks, and slowly said: “Have you encounter a grievance ghost? I wonder who it is………”

Guessing that it should be someone who had encountered a grievance ghost, it was not a good thing to meet with a grievance ghost at night, pondering over it, Xiao Chen eventually decided to go to take a look, if Chen Ling encountered a grievance ghost, then naturally, he would have to take action to save it, while if it was someone else, then forget it.
