Chapter 68

In the empty corridor, Li Mu's expression was blank, his silver eyes constantly changing from black to blood red, then back to silver, finally settling on a blood red filled with brutality. Everything before him was shrouded in a blurry bloodlight, and countless fragmented memories surged like a tide.

Just a glance at Luoshui, even through a computer screen, despite the vast distance, felt like a separation of thousands of years. It instantly stirred the deep-seated affection buried in Li Mu's bones, making his memories more vivid and his mind clearer, while the blood red in his eyes grew even deeper.

Scream!

The cries of countless zombies merged into a chorus, carried by the wind into the corridor. It was the roar of the zombies, mixed with the mechanical, hate-filled roars of a few others.

Outside the corridor, Colonel Hoover was still alive, fighting the zombie army. The intense, bloody smell wafted in, immediately stirring the brutality in Li Mu's reddened eyes.

Li Mu's feet moved, and he suddenly turned, swift as lightning. In almost a second, he crossed the long corridor, leaped high into the air, eyes flashing with blood red brutality, and without hesitation, pounced on Colonel Hoover.

At this moment, only slaughter could vent the brutality in Li Mu's heart, a pain and brutality arising from the clash between his remaining beautiful memories and the harsh reality.

The more pain Li Mu felt, the faster and more ruthless his actions became. The more pain, the faster, the more ruthless!

Boom!

Caught off guard, Colonel Hoover was almost instantly blasted into the air by the black bone spines that suddenly emerged from Li Mu's back. His twisted, powerful body, capable of shaking mountains, could not withstand Li Mu's brutal strike.

Li Mu's sudden attack shocked everyone. The red mutant parrot, however, heaved a sigh of relief, patting its chest, still trembling, "Thank goodness for this idiot. Otherwise, the Great King might have killed everyone. It's truly terrifying."

The red mutant parrot could sense the brutality and pain in Li Mu's heart. It didn't fully understand this feeling, but it imagined it must be like the pain of seeing its most beloved female parrot, only to find itself turned into a human, unable to enjoy the pleasures of the past.

Thinking this way, the red mutant parrot suddenly felt it could empathize with Li Mu's current state, a trace of sympathy flashing in its eyes, "Great King, actually, trying something new can be quite good."

However, as the red mutant parrot glanced around, it saw the foolish zombies still trying to attack Colonel Hoover even as Li Mu was on a rampage. It sighed helplessly, feeling even more able to understand Li Mu's sorrow.

"Kill... kill you!"

Colonel Hoover's mind was clouded, completely twisted by the evolutionary serum. But his blood-red right eye, upon seeing Li Mu, immediately surged with hatred, and overwhelming killing intent rose. He forcibly stopped himself in mid-air, his muscles twisting into a frightening arc, and he lunged at Li Mu.

Li Mu's expression was blank, his eyes blood red with brutality. A few unwise zombies, still following his previous orders, charged at Colonel Hoover without fear of death.

Swish, swish, swish!

Three crisp sounds of breaking air, and the black bone spines on Li Mu's back suddenly moved, piercing through the foolish zombies. Blood dripped, and the black bone spines, like flowers, swayed in the wind, lightly brushing past Li Mu's lips. Li Mu, cold and merciless, lightly licked the taste of blood.

The taste of blood made Li Mu even more frenzied. He stepped forward, charging recklessly, ignoring everything. His right bone knife, sharp and deadly, cut through anything in its path, whether human or zombie.

Blood splattered, painting the rain red. Each drop of rain, as Li Mu charged, was swept up like bullets, flying horizontally, creating a torrential force. Though not lethal, the raindrops hitting faces caused intense pain.

"Die!"

Colonel Hoover coldly spat out a single word. The chip in his blood-red right eye was still analyzing Li Mu's data, but with his mind clouded, he paid no heed, charging at Li Mu with brute force, his eyes locked on Li Mu with murderous intent.

Clang!

A light sound, and Li Mu and Colonel Hoover collided. Li Mu's right bone knife swung down, but Colonel Hoover's hard metal arm barely blocked it, preventing it from being cut in two.

Swish!

The missed strike was followed by the black bone spines on Li Mu's back, which shot out like a dragon, striking Colonel Hoover's chest, unleashing a burst of brutal force.

Colonel Hoover was involuntarily blasted into the air. Li Mu, expressionless, eyes blood red, locked onto Colonel Hoover. He stepped forward, floating in the air, his movements so fast that he burst through the rain, each step creating a lotus-like effect. Both hands and the black bone spines on his back attacked Colonel Hoover in a storm of blows.

Colonel Hoover, in mid-air, had no place to use his enhanced strength and speed, and could only passively endure Li Mu's attacks.

Boom, boom, boom!

The continuous sounds of their clash drowned out the thunder in the sky. Everyone was terrified, watching Colonel Hoover, who was clearly stronger than Li Mu, being pummeled like a baseball, rising higher and higher.

The speed of Li Mu's attacks was unimaginable. The continuous strikes kept Colonel Hoover suspended in the air, unable to land.

Red blood began to mix with the rain. Li Mu's right bone knife, left claw, and the bone spines on his back, all sharp and deadly, left countless wounds on Colonel Hoover, blood seeping out.

Swish, swish, swish!

In the air, it seemed as if there were multiple Li Mus, stepping on the void, breaking through the rain, their movements swift and lightning-fast, leaving everyone in awe.

When Li Mu suddenly stopped, Colonel Hoover suddenly regained his senses, roaring, "I will... kill you!"

As he spoke, Colonel Hoover swung his arm, aiming for Li Mu's head. But Li Mu, without turning, looked down, his blood-red eyes causing both humans and zombies to tremble in fear.

Behind him, Colonel Hoover's body shattered with a loud crack, blood splattering, turning into pieces of flesh, carried by the rain, falling silently. The Colonel, who had wanted to kill Li Mu, ultimately died at Li Mu's hands, despite all his efforts and sacrifices, ending in nothing.

The red mutant parrot, trembling with fear, swallowed hard, seeing Li Mu's brutal dismemberment of Colonel Hoover, feeling utmost shock. Seeing Li Mu's gaze, it immediately flew up, screaming hysterically, "Bastard! You damned things, confess quickly!"
