"Great King, save me!"
The red mutant parrot was truly frightened. It never expected that its rare attempt to show off its strength would result in encountering an old man with unfathomable power. A mere breath from the old man was enough to send it reeling, as if a deity had descended from the heavens.
Li Mu's eyes turned cold, and with a swift movement, he leaped into the air, his feet treading the void as if it were solid ground. He drew a shadow in the night and pounced towards the old man.
The old man nodded. "So this is the so-called zombie evolution ability? Indeed, it's quite interesting."
The old man casually said, holding the red mutant parrot in one hand. With a step, the ground trembled three times, and tiny pebbles were instantly sent flying into the air. With a wave of his arm, he shattered the void, and the pebbles shot towards Li Mu like bullets.
Li Mu's pupils constricted, and he swung his bone knife through the air, producing a continuous clanging sound.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The pebbles, launched by the old man's palm, collided with Li Mu's bone knife. The terrifying force made Li Mu's body lurch, nearly unable to withstand it, and he was almost sent flying backward.
"You have a bit of brute strength."
The old man laughed, stepping in a special pattern, clenching his fist, and letting out a sound like thunder. The air instantly vibrated, and a ball of energy shot out like a solid object.
Li Mu's face remained expressionless, his eyes instantly bloodshot. Without dodging, he swung his bone knife down, colliding with the energy ball. He grunted as if he had hit an iron plate, stumbling and falling from the air.
His feet touched the sea, causing the water to explode. Li Mu, fearless and unyielding, took a step and landed on the beach, his figure moving like lightning as he charged towards the old man.
The old man's eyes lit up, and he casually tossed the red mutant parrot aside. His movements were as swift as lightning, and he collided with Li Mu like the wind.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The sounds of their clash continued. The old man moved like the wind, his attacks casual and effortless, though not as swift as Li Mu's, they were always perfectly timed, intercepting Li Mu's critical strikes and rendering his powerful attacks ineffective.
"Your speed is good, and your strength is considerable. Unfortunately, it's all just show."
The old man sighed, seemingly disappointed. "Why are you sticking your butt out so high? Asking for a beating?"
The old man slapped Li Mu's buttocks, sending him stumbling. Li Mu's eyes turned even bloodier, and he wrapped a black bone spike around his hand, thrusting it towards the old man's chest.
The old man was even more disappointed. "Is that how you use a whip?"
As he spoke, he flicked his hand, deflecting Li Mu's black bone spike. With a shoulder and elbow strike, he hit Li Mu's chest, sending him flying with a loud thud.
The old man stepped forward, grabbed the black bone spike on Li Mu's back, and pulled him back. He then released his grip and punched with the speed of the wind, coldly saying, "Hit the chest!"
Li Mu's eyes turned cold, and he immediately placed his bone knife across his chest. However, the old man changed his move, kicking Li Mu's knee with great force. Li Mu grunted and retreated a few steps.
"You're really stupid. Don't you know that in war, deception is key? Just because I said to hit the chest, does it mean I will definitely hit the chest?!"
The old man, enraged, moved and formed a seal with his fingers, unleashing a powerful strike that aimed directly at Li Mu's head.
The old man's attacks were as swift as the wind and as fierce as fire, overwhelming Li Mu and forcing him to take a beating. As he attacked, he continued to roar in anger.
"Are you an idiot? Can't you use your knife?"
"Have you never fought with a knife before? Your attacks are so weak, are you trying to kill a chicken?"
"And that tail, did you grow it just for decoration?!"
"Hmm? What kind of ability is this? It's almost like a mind-control technique, but unfortunately, I am as clear as ice, and nothing can shake me. Your mind-control won't work on me!"
"I told you it won't work on me! Can't you understand? At your young age, you only know these evil tricks, you deserve a beating!"
...
The old man's temper was fiery, and he beat Li Mu so badly that he couldn't fight back, while also scolding him harshly.
The red mutant parrot was completely terrified. It had never seen such a terrifying human old man, and even Li Mu was no match for him, being thoroughly suppressed.
"Humans are really scary."
The red mutant parrot, frightened, buried its head in the sand, its buttocks tucked in, trembling continuously. It seemed to think that this way, it wouldn't be noticed by the terrifying human old man.
The blood in Li Mu's eyes gradually faded. Although he didn't have the red mutant parrot's ability to read minds, he could sense that the old man had no intention to kill.
Instead, the seemingly angry scolding carried a tone of disappointment, like a strict elder scolding an unambitious younger generation.
It was a sense of closeness, rough but somewhat endearing. Since becoming a zombie, every living being he had encountered had been filled with fear.
But the old man in front of him clearly did not.
If the red mutant parrot knew Li Mu's thoughts, it would certainly sneer. Of course, the old man wouldn't be afraid; he beat you like a son, how could he be afraid of you?!
"Are you beaten stupid? You're actually happy about getting beaten!"
The old man suddenly stopped, standing in place, and said angrily.
Li Mu's gaze was calm. His entire body was covered in palm prints, fist marks, and footprints, looking extremely disheveled, but he didn't seem to care. He carefully observed the old man with terrifying martial prowess.
The old man was very robust, wearing a blue robe from ancient times, but not the kind worn by scholars. Instead, he looked like a sword hero from a novel, with a fluttering blue robe and a thousand-mile sword.
His eyes were not at all dim and aged like those of a typical old man; they were bright and deep, full of vitality. If you only looked at his eyes, you would think he was in his prime, full of vigor and ambition, capable of changing the world.
But he was ultimately an old man, with noticeable wrinkles on his face, though they did not show signs of weariness.
The old man crossed his arms, allowing Li Mu to examine him, while he also examined Li Mu. They stared at each other.
"Old man, it's your turn to make breakfast today. Where have you been?"
A powerful shout broke the standoff on the beach.
The old man, who had previously appeared like a transcendent sage with an invincible aura, suddenly changed his expression and said to Li Mu, "Boy, do you know what the most painful thing in life is for an invincible man?"
Li Mu remained silent, but the red mutant parrot, trying to please, said, "Marrying a fierce wife?"
The old man's face darkened even more, nodding and shaking his head as he picked up the lantern on the ground. "No, it's marrying seven!"
The red mutant parrot couldn't quite grasp the complexity of the math problem, and the old man kicked it away. "Boy, take your bird and follow me."
