Chu Xun unsteadily exited the hospital, frightened out of his mind.
Although he didn’t have to die, he couldn’t relax even a little bit.
Because his condition was too unusual, Dr. Chen asked him to be more careful than other pregnant women in order to make sure the fetus in his abdomen and his body stayed healthy; and to come to the hospital often for her inspection. Of course, it was still unknown whether it was dangerous for a man to give birth to a baby. Although there was no problem with his body at present, it was impossible to predict what could happen in the future. If he wanted to abort the baby, they could also arrange an operation for him.
Chu Xun didn’t know how to face his parents. He didn’t say a word the entire way.
But his parents didn’t scold him or ask anything else. The whole family had worried frowns.
After that, the first sentence Father Chu said was a careful question: “Jun Jun, are you hungry? Let’s go have dinner. After we’re full, we can figure out what to do.”
They arrived at the restaurant and ordered.
Father Chu subconsciously ordered a boiled meat dish.
Mother Chu said quickly, “Wouldn’t it be too hot? Preg… He can’t eat irritating food when he’s sick ba. ”
Father Chu nodded: “Oh, yes, yes, you are right. Let’s eat something a little lighter in flavor. I’ll order a stewed chicken and steamed fish.”
Chu Xun: “…”
Chu Xun thought for a moment and found it hard to speak: “I haven’t been able to smell or taste meat and fish recently. I can just eat some vegetables and tofu.”
Chu Xun… Chu Xun didn’t know what to say.
His world view had not yet adjusted.
It seemed that he was a rare man in the world: one who could have children; this was too too too unbelievable.
His mood was complicated.
Even if Chu Xun didn’t want to admit that he was pregnant, he had a fetus as big as an apple core in his stomach now, and currently growing larger.
The family of three ate with clouded minds.

Chu Xun paused and replied, “No.”
Father Chu asked, “Then whose is it?”
In Chu Xun’s mind, Lin Yanchen’s handsome face instantly appeared. He shook his head lightly and said, “You don’t know him, you guys don’t need to worry about this. It has… nothing to do with him.”
Father Chu was puzzled, “Weren’t you with that guy surnamed Ji?”
Chu Xun said indifferently, “It was broken off a long time ago…”
But thinking of Xiao Lin, his face became gentle and heartbroken again: “I like someone else now.”
Although he still did not know Xiao Lin’s specific family background, he was definitely someone from a wealthy and respectable family. He was in a class Chu Xun would never be able to touch in his life. Considering Xiao Lin’s difficult father, he felt it quite a formidable hurdle. He didn’t even know whether that person would accept him or not. Sometimes, when two people wanted to be together, it didn’t concern only them.
Mother Chu asked him, “Jun Jun, are you going to have this child? It’s already very difficult for you… if you give birth to it, there would be even more to worry about.”
Of course he had to give birth to it! But… Chu Xun subconsciously touched his abdomen. Currently it was still flat. He calculated the time. He should have conceived in the first few days after he first met Lin Yanchen. But thinking about it carefully, he did many things that were potentially harmful to the fetus, such as parachuting, skiing, horseback riding, and taking pills. The more he thought about it, the more afraid he became. He didn’t know if all that had had affected the fetus.
Chu Xun frowned and said with a solemn face, “I still haven’t decided yet. Let’s wait until the baby is a little bigger to do an examination. If there are no problems, then I will have it.”
A young girl sitting at a table next to them heard almost all of their family’s conversation, and she secretly gave Chu Xun a look of contempt. Sure, love could not be restrained and might lose focus; if there was a shift in affection, then it was fine, but whether they were good or bad to the other woman, no one was willing to tell their parents. He had gotten another family’s girl pregnant before marriage and did not want to take responsibility. He also wanted to do an examination before deciding whether to keep it or not! He was planning on doing a gender check, right? If it was a boy, he’d have it; if it was a girl then he wouldn’t, right? He was too much of a slag – really such a slag!
Chu Xun was thin-skinned. He didn’t want others to know that he was pregnant, especially acquaintances – so he didn’t go back to his house in X city, nor did he go to his parents’ house to raise the fetus.
Director Chen promised to be specially in charge of helping him give birth. Firstly, Director Chen was already an expert in obstetrics and gynecology, so they didn’t need to find another doctor. Secondly, Chu Xun was too embarrassed to let more people know that a grown man like him was pregnant.
After discussing with his parents, he decided to rent a house near the hospital. He was a fool who had spent all his money on Xiao Lin. Although he had real estate, he didn’t have any liquid funds, not even money for rent. He watched his parents take money out with a red face.
When he was three months pregnant, Chu Xun went to have a prenatal examination.
After the initial examination, Doctor Chen said that besides the child being a little small, it didn’t lack any limbs, and was basically quite healthy. However, some problems couldn’t be found by a prenatal examination alone.
After several days of consideration, Chu Xun decided to give birth to the child.
Chu Xun did not dare to leave his house.
When he touched his belly, he felt extremely moved that inside he was nurturing a small life. However, what would others think of him? Wouldn’t they think he was some kind of freak?
If it was known that he had a child in his stomach, this child would be ironclad evidence that he had slept with a man and conceived a life. He and Xiao Lin hadn’t married; at most they had been dating for a few days. This was still considered an illegitimate child conceived out of wedlock.
After his parents found out that he wasn’t terminally ill but actually pregnant, they weren’t angry. Instead, they worked hard to accompany him and take care of him.
Every day, his father brought a different type of food for him to eat, and he was rather energetic.
Chu Xun thought that he would be scolded by his parents sooner or later, but he didn’t expect to not get scolded at all. His parents were careful towards him.
Especially his dad; when did his dad become so good-tempered?
There was nothing to do while pregnant. He was stuck at home all day long, so Chu Xun let his imagination run wild.
He thought perhaps that in the past, when he and his father broke off relations, his father hated that he was gay because he couldn’t have children to continue the family line. Was it because he now could have children, although he wasn’t married, that his father acquiesced?
Was having children so important?
At the end of the day, his dad was just thinking about burning incense for the ancestors of the Chu family.
One night, Chu Xun was thirsty in the middle of the night. He got up to drink water and heard a quiet weeping sound.
There was a man crying.
Curious, he found the door of his parents’ room, and listened carefully through the door. It was his father crying while his mother comforted him.
“Teacher Chu, what are you crying about? You’re already in your fifties, don’t you feel ashamed…”
“I’m not crying in public. I’m afraid ah… Jun Jun wants to give birth to this child. Look, his pregnancy symptoms are so severe. He vomited out all the dinner he ate tonight. He’s so skinny – only skin and bones. It’s already dangerous for a woman to have children, but he’s a man. When you gave birth to Jun Jun, it was that dangerous. What about him now?”
“Aiyo, you’re crying harder and harder. I’m fine, aren’t I?”
“I only have this one son. What can I do if something happens to him?”
“Oh, you are like a good father now. How come you never say such things in front of Jun Jun? You are always the first to scold him.”
“Giving birth to a child was already a flight of fancy. But he is a man who can conceive, and the pressure is even greater. How could I say it in front of him? Besides, Director Chen has never helped a man deliver a baby.”
“Don’t talk about a mishap happening or whatever. You really like to make inauspicious remarks. Shut your mouth! We have to believe in Director Chen. She is a very capable doctor. Even if Director Chen has never helped a man deliver a child, where are you going to find a doctor who has?”
“I know… I’m just worried. But I want to be prepared. When the time comes, are we just going to flail around and panic?”
“If there is a ‘what if’, we will definitely protect Jun Jun ah.”
The old couple reached an agreement.
Some time passed.
“Teacher Chu, why are you crying again? Won’t you let anyone sleep?”
“I thought of the dream I just had.”
“What did you dream of?”
“I dreamed that he gave birth to a little monster; it was very ugly.”
“…”
“When it comes to that time, even if he gives birth to a little monster, we can only recognize it. As long as he is safe.”
“Dreams are all the opposite.”
“You don’t know ah… In my previous dreams, I would dream about how I quarreled with Jun Jun. I said cruel words in a moment of anger, telling him to go die. I was thinking, what if I were to blame for his illness… why is my mouth so trashy? I will never scold him again in my life.”
Chu Xun didn’t listen any more and quietly left.
