Chapter 1: Sex-Partner Advertising
<I am looking for a sex partner.
A man who is over 6 feet tall and has a decent appearance. It doesn’t matter how wealthy you are, but I need your penis to be of a decent size. Applicants, please leave your application on the window of the white brick house where the lavenders are blooming on the east side of the waterfront. I am the Rabbit waiting for you.
P.S. I have a big chest.>
Chesterville was a big city. It was located right next to the capital and was adjacent to the port, so many people, in addition to people from the capital, came and went. As such, all sorts of things happened, and strange scenes were frequently seen. But this advertisement, which took up a small space in the corner of Chesterville’s most famous dating page, was the most unique out of them all.
In fact, in the dating magazine, Brokedown, advertisements were often posted by individuals who were looking for a date and wanted to introduce themselves. It was a cheap advertisement spot that only cost about three shillings. The reason why it was so cheap was because Chesterville was a city of love. Romance, in any form, between a man and a woman was accepted in Chesterville.
Of course, a dating relationship usually would be accompanied by a physical relationship, that is, sex, but the people here had enough dignity not to reveal it so openly in an advertisement.
Except for this one.
‘Who is the owner of this quirky yet flashy advertisement? It doesn’t seem like she was normal.’
All the men were gossiping while staring at each other’s faces. This kind of advertisement was strange. They just watched, because they didn’t know what kind of damage it would cause if they were the first person to come forward.
“Oh, why has no one sent me a note?”
It was the third day since she posted the advertisement. Even today, the window of the white brick house with blooming lavender was empty. With no letters, no notes, no cards. In addition, there was no sign of any popularity.
A woman with beautiful, soft light-purple lavender eyes sat, and puffed up her cheeks in protest as she stared at the dusty window sill.
“I wrote the conditions I wanted, and I told them my terms too! What’s wrong with that?”
Her silver hair glistened in the sun and fluttered around her waist. Her name was Sweet Pea Rabbithall, and she was 23 years old. She was also the popular romance writer who rocked the metropolitan area these days.
(Q/N: did her name make you laugh? It’s really in the raws.)
Sweet Pea’s works were all full of pure and happy stories and were praised as fantastic fairytale-like stories. She was so popular among the noble girls so much so that everytime a new book was published, the sales results were very good.
One day, while researching for her next book, Sweet Pea discovered a hidden book nestled in a dark corner of a bookstore. A very hot and strange novel, full of obscene situations, that was completely different from what she was writing.
“If I had to write something new, I should be able to write something like that.”
Sweet Pea deeply sighed as she sat on a rocking chair in the pretty house that she had bought with her own royalties. She was the youngest daughter of the Count of Rabbithall. This studio house belonged to her. She bought it to get away from her overprotective parents and brothers. She was already twenty-three years old and felt it was all her brothers’ fault that she had never had a proper romantic relationship. Sweet Pea thought that love was just like a fantasy fairytale!
‘The book was so unfamiliar……! I never dreamed that such an interesting thing like sex could exist between a man and a woman!’
Sweet Pea burst into anger again and shook her little fists. Until last year, she was an idiot when it came to sexual matters. She was so ignorant that she believed her eldest brother’s words that storks would bring babies.
(T/N: LMAO!!!! I’m dying!)
She didn’t know how much research one had to do to write such a dark book. Since she had become very curious, it was only natural for her to want to experience it herself.
Sweet Pea opened another dark book she had managed to obtain and read it carefully, line by line.
<Reinkel’s thighs were thick and firm, with tendons popping on them. No wonder he was a knight in the Imperial Palace. Johanna knelt down gently on her knees, crushing her chest against his thighs. He reacted greatly to every move she made. Watching his masculine neck move up and down, Johanna reached her hand out and tapped his chest…..>
Gulp.
This was the part that she was focused on reading yesterday. How could she do such a naughty thing so casually?
Sweet Pea was really curious. ‘If he likes it, can he rub his body and mix his tongue like that? Or does he feel better because she does it?’
Sweet Pea held her breath tight, blushing as if she had become Johanna, the heroine of the novel. She was going to wait until today. There was no other way to do research if there was no reply even after putting out the newspaper ad. In this novel, the male protagonist, Reinkel, was an imperial knight with a commoner background, so he did not seek a partner among the nobles.
<Reinkel climbed onto Johanna and licked her neck like a dog. The knight who should be holy and noble eventually succumbed. Johanna spread her white, soft thighs to the sides and crossed them around his waist, so that she could never fall. Eventually, he will slip into her tight, moist dark path deep inside her and fill her up. Johanna, a young lady, lustfully smiled. Seeing her expression like that, Reinkel…….>
“What are you reading so seriously?”
“Gah!”
“How suspicious.”
Sweet Pea jumped on the spot. In the middle of reading an important part, a deep masculine voice suddenly spoke to her. She screamed and thought she was going to faint as a tall, handsome man was reflected in her eyes.
A dazzling blond man, who looked like he was born with a handful of sunlight, stared at her. Refreshing blue eyes resembling the sky and a smile similar to that always stayed on his lips. The dimples near the slightly fanned eyes, and the curved corners of the eyes were both attractive and seductive at the same time. Contrary to his refreshing appearance, his voice was deep.
“Edward!”
“Is this a new book coming out soon?”
“N-No, I was just reading something. When did you come?!”
Sweet Pea opened her eyes wide as she welcomed her close childhood friend. Edward de Warwick. As the only son of the Grand Duke in this country, she sometimes forgot his great status. That was because he was her childhood friend for eleven years. She knew though, that Edward wasn’t idle enough to come here at this time.
Sweet Pea innocently blinked as she quickly hid the reddish-brown hardcover book behind her back.
“I stopped by on the way to get some dessert. I recalled you like the cream puffs sold at ‘Bourne and Sweet.’”
“Oh! Are you talking about those limited edition cream puffs? Maybe just once a week! The one that was sold only at 2pm?”
“Yes, those.”
Edward raised his eyebrows and grinned. Sweet Pea unwittingly clapped without realizing it. ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so difficult to obtain!’ She often found it easy to get and eat things that others had to wait in long lines because of her friend’s status.
“The patissier says it’s marron flavored cream and chocolate cream today.”
(P/N: Spanish chestnut)
“Oh my gosh, I’m so happy!”
The pink box looked large even in Edward’s large hand. The cream puffs inside were also the size of an adult male’s hand. When one takes a bite, the feeling of euphoria makes one’s tongue tingle, and the special custard cream that one couldn’t taste anywhere else was amazing.
“Mmm, so good. Really tasty……!”
“I can see that.”
Edward swiped the smudged cream across her lips with his thumb and then brought it to his mouth. Because they were friends ever since they were so young, Sweet Pea was well aware that this was one of Edward’s habits, but why all of a sudden? Sweet Pea stared blankly as the custard cream disappeared into his red lips.
“Sweet Pea?”
“Oh sorry! Did I stare at you too much?”
“No. What’s wrong?”
Red lips.
‘Oh my gosh, why is his lips so red?’
Sweet Pea, feeling the heat blooming on her face, immediately took a bite of the cream puff as if the feeling would disappear if her two cheeks were inflated.
Edward obliquely leaned on the rocking chair and looked down at her, then slowly pulled something out of the front pocket of his jacket. White, thin, and fluttering. Instead of a handkerchief, the object was of a paper material. And as soon as she saw it, Sweet Pea’s eyes widened and she held out her hand.
“Hey! That’s mine!”
“What do you think this is?”
“Where did you get that from? Was it on the windowsill?”
“Yes. I saw it on the way here. I brought it because I was afraid it would fly away.”
At Edward’s gentle reply, Sweet Pea felt her body tremble. First applicant! What kind of man is he? She did want him to be as tall as Edward, and his lips to be as red as Edward’s. And how good would it be if he had a low voice like Edward? She would like that.
Just thinking about it made her want to meet the owner of that note.
Sweet Pea rose from the rocking chair and stretched out her hand, tapping with her feet.
“Give it to me, please?”
“Hmm, it’s suspicious because you want it so much. Who is this from?”
“Oh, I don’t know. Just give it to me, please?”
As Sweet Pea fretted, Edward narrowed his eyes and immediately hid the note in his fist. Edward, who was all calm and cool, had one bad habit. From their younger days, he always hesitated to give her something when she started fussing.
Of course, in the end, she always gave up, but this time there was no reason for her to do so.
“Do you have a secret lover?”
“What? A lover?”
“No?”
“Of course not! If I’m dating someone, I’d tell you first, Edward.”
She was sincere. Though it was funny that she was shouting with powder on her lips, it’s true.
Edward and her were best friends. He was her most precious friend in the world. So it would be absurd to not tell him. It’s such an important thing — falling in love with someone and getting to know them.
“I always think of you as my best friend. I’ll tell you if any changes happen to me.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really!”
Sweet Pea nodded eagerly. She felt a little guilty, but she hadn’t found a sex partner yet, so…
Edward looked at her with skepticism, as she batted her eyes and smiled sweetly at him. That smile was one of his ten favorite things about Sweet Pea.
“Very well, I’ll give it to you. I swear I didn’t open it.”
“Thank you!”
‘Of course not. Edward is a sincere, honest, kind, and a good friend. He doesn’t secretly read other people’s secret notes or anything.’
Sweet Pea clasped the note in her hand. Suddenly, her chest was pounding. It was like going on a secret adventure. She was finally becoming a real adult! No one could stop her now. Her brothers, who restrained her from doing anything dangerous, knew nothing about the advertisements that she had published anonymously in the newspapers.
After Edward left, Sweet Pea, who cleaned the cream off her hands, opened the note very carefully.
The first thing that caught her eye is his neat handwriting. What came next was the refreshing and pleasant scent of a forest. He must be sensitive enough to spray perfume on a note. It was inevitable that her expectations would rise.
<I would like to apply as your partner. Choose me and I will make all your fantasies come true. If you will allow it, please put a lavender over the windowsill. Then tomorrow, at 1am., I will visit you wearing a black tiger mask.
P.S. I want you to be confident that my size is something that others will envy.>
He was very confident and dignified. Maybe his face was pretty too. Though he was someone she had never met, she imagined it would be so. If her second brother was seeing her now, he would have pointed out that she was too delusional, but what’s the matter? Weren’t dreams and love one of the most important virtues for a romance writer?
‘Hmm, I think I’ve seen this writing before somewhere.’
‘I’m not sure, but…… maybe not?
The note’s scent seemed a little familiar to her, but no clear answer came to her mind.
Sweet Pea, who had been contemplating, quickly thought about how much she liked it.
‘Well, we’ll find out when we meet!’
Sweet Pea has been trained by her brothers since she was young, so she could easily protect her body at least. Despite her slender appearance, she actually had a pretty strong punch and was given the title as the world’s strongest Sweet Pea by her family. Her father said it would be better for her to just punch with an iron fist than to raise a weapon such as a sword or a bow. So she wasn’t scared of meeting strangers at all.
In the book, the two people were now groaning strangely. While preparing to go home, her eyes could not stop reading from the book.
Just like this. Sweet Pea wanted her next work to be a novel like this.
* * *
Edward de Warwick was an old childhood friend of Sweet Pea Rabbithall. They first met at the Queen’s Cup Children’s Martial Arts Competition when they were seven, fought for the first time, and became friends for the first time. Neither Sweet Pea nor Edward had ever lost to anyone in their seven-year-old life, but it was Edward who eventually won the final match.
Everyone thought that Sweet Pea, who lost, would shed tears or screamed with a face full of sadness, injustice, and resentment. Edward thought so too. But at that very moment, Sweet Pea smiled with the brightest face in the world and reached out to him.
“Congratulations on winning! Let’s be friends!”
He fell in love with those words, and Edward had been maintaining his unrequited love by himself until now.
‘She made an advertisement like this. Without a word. Without consulting me.’
Edward’s face was cold, without a smile. He was staring at the advertisement side of a newspaper with dark gleaming eyes. The only thing that was a little unusual was Edward’s desk. There was not just one single sheet of newspaper placed on it. There were thousands, all stacked like a tower.
He retrieved more than half of the newspapers of this date that would have been released in Chesterville. He put out an advertisement offering ten dams for anyone to voluntarily return a newspaper with this date, which was 100 times the price of the newspaper itself. He would search everywhere and pick up this specific dated newspaper if he didn’t have it, and it was exactly what he wanted.
There was nothing he could do about the advertisements that had already been released, but he would do everything he could to keep them from being spread any further.
It was hard to know how men turned their eyes when they had seen such indecent and provocative content. Of course, even if they tried to threaten Sweet Pea, they would have been hit in the chin with a single shot. It was a great thought, but he was still displeased. It was a huge deal to the point of it becoming serious.
‘I wants to burn all the eyeballs of any man who has seen this.’
Edward stared at the words of the advertisement, which were as lively as her tone, and then crumpled the paper violently.
Since he had sent someone to be positioned around her studio, there was no worry of anyone trying to submit a reply note. Even if they had tried, his loyal subordinates would check her window three times a day, morning, noon, and evening without being caught by Sweet Pea to retrieve the note.
He was somewhat reassured, as he had a keen sense enough to discover what kind of a dog-like bastard would attempt to put a note on the top of a window sill.
‘Now I know that she won’t be taken away.’
Edward was the first to like Sweet Pea. He was the one who knew her work best, and he was the only one in this world who knew everything about her thoughts, mind, heart, and intentions. All of them.
No, there could be only one. So shouldn’t he be her only sex partner? It was unacceptable for it to be someone else. Another man in between her and him?
He could not stand it; he would rather kill the man from behind and then embrace the crying Sweet Pea to comfort her.
“Your Excellency, the mask is complete.”
“Bring it over.”
The door opened and the butler carefully brought a mask laid on a red cloth in. This was the mask he ordered because she called herself a rabbit. It was an item that changed the hair color subtly with a voice modulation function. After wearing this, he thought that he could approach her not only as a friend but also as a man. Otherwise they would only be friends forever.
As a friend he couldn’t hug her waist, kiss her white nape, or kiss her soft hair.
A friend.
Edward hated bearing the title of the damn friend from a young age.
