"Shōta! You're amazing. The integration chief praised you."
I was just about to fall asleep on the sofa in the development room's reception area, but the incompetent chief woke me up.
My role is over, so let me sleep.
"By the way, I made sure to say that the report was my idea."
"Huh? Wait a minute!"
What?
I was suddenly wide awake.
What is this guy babbling about?
"Originally, I assigned you to that part based on my idea. The report was completed thanks to me, right?"
"Are you an idiot! All you did was assign tasks. Don't kid yourself."
I know that no matter who was assigned to what, the result would have been the same. I was aware of your incompetence even before we went to the other world, but your cowardly skills are quite advanced.
When I appraised this guy, I was shocked by how many despicable skills he had.
"Ah, do you have a complaint? I know you've been sleep-deprived, so I'll pretend I didn't hear your outburst."
"Huh? I didn't say anything out of line. Your comments are the ones that are out of line."
"That's unfortunate. Do you really think you can stay in this company if you insult your superiors?"
He's acting so high and mighty.
Hey, when did those big guys appear behind the incompetent chief?
They're from the company's judo club.
I remember them boasting about their black belts at the year-end party.
Why are they here?
"Who are those two behind you?"
"They're kind men who are acting as my bodyguards. There are subordinates in this company who insult me."
"Are you kidding me?"
I'm really angry now.
There's a limit to how much you can look down on people.
"Be careful of those who look down on you."
The soul of the sage said the same thing.
Accepting being looked down on carries risks.
That's exactly what's happening now.
"Ah, it's better not to use violence. You'll be the one who ends up in pain."
I can use the skills I gained in the other world and know how to utilize my physical abilities.
I should be able to easily take down the two judo club members.
However, in modern Japan, there are strict constraints on using violence, unlike in the other world.
What should I do?
I see.
There's no point in staying in a company like this.
Mostly, nothing good will come from working under such an incompetent and cowardly chief.
But, just quitting without a word would leave a bad taste in my mouth.
"Fine. I'll quit the company as you wish."
"Hmm. I understand that you've resigned verbally. You are no longer an employee of this company, then."
His smug face is really hateful.
"Understood. I am no longer an employee of this company or your subordinate. I'm so angry, let me punch you once."
"Hmm, go ahead. But be prepared to break some bones from their counterattack."
The two judo club members stepped in between me and the chief, forming a wall.
I appraised them.
They're around 2nd and 3rd dan in judo.
They have decent combat strength.
Normally, with my lack of physical training, I wouldn't stand a chance.
But no one knows that combat ability isn't just about physical strength.
I have a skill called 'Foolish Strength in a Fire.'
It's not magic but a way to control adrenaline, so it should work in both the other world and modern society.
I activated the 'Foolish Strength in a Fire' skill to trigger the adrenaline rush.
It's working! I can feel the muscles under my suit moving.
The enhanced muscles should be able to handle the two judo club members easily.
Alright, I'm ready for battle.
Now, how should I deal with those two?
It's simple.
I can trick them with a feint.
My appraisal skill revealed that their brains are as empty as their muscles are strong.
"Alright, I'm going to punch you."
"Go ahead!!"
Understood.
His smug face is the same as always.
I've wanted to punch him since before my reincarnation.
He always does the easy work and pushes the hard tasks down to us.
He claims credit for successes and blames subordinates for failures.
He's a typical bad boss, so I'm not the only one who wants to punch him.
I approach to punch one of the judo club members in the face.
The target lowers his stance and guards.
I swing a wide punch like an amateur.
The other judo club member grabs me from behind.
Just before he grabs me, I crouch down with full adrenaline.
It was an unexpected move.
He lunges over my head.
I step to the side and stand right in front of the incompetent and cowardly boss.
In a split second, the boss is completely unprepared and shocked.
I punch him in the nose.
The boss flies backward and crashes into a desk, falling down.
Alright.
That's enough.
"What are you doing! Anyone, catch him!"
Looking behind me, I see shocked employees and some who are laughing.
One employee is even giving me a peace sign.
No one is chasing me on the chief's orders.
The two judo club members are dazed.
Mission accomplished.
I punched the boss and quit the company.
A mission that every salaryman has probably thought about at least once.
Ah, I feel so much better.
Now that the mission is complete, what should I do next?
I haven't thought about it at all.
But I don't need to worry because I have the skills from the other world.
I survived in a world of survival of the fittest and even defeated a demon king.
In this peaceful and naive world, I should be able to do whatever I want.
I'm excited to imagine all the possibilities that await me now that I'm free from work.
