Unknown how much time had passed.
Once again, Du Wei woke up in a state worse than death.
Du Wei opened his eyes, wriggling like a maggot, struggling slightly.
"How can I leave Azkaban?"
Du Wei didn't know.
He didn't even know how many days he had spent in the ancient castle, or how many times he had been drained of happiness by the Dementors.
The ancient castle of Azkaban had no locks, no cells; anyone could move freely.
As long as you weren't afraid of encountering a hungry Dementor while moving freely, you could run around and take your chances.
Inside the castle, everyone huddled in the corners like infants, trying to make themselves look unremarkable, praying not to be discovered by the Dementors.
Unfortunately, Dementors don't observe with their eyes; they are blind, and their eyes only see happiness.
In the ancient castle, the Dementors' consumption of happiness is not fixed.
These heavy criminals are the Dementors' buffet.
The ancient castle ruins exude a sense of despair from top to bottom.
The deeper you go, the more Dementors there are.
The more heavy criminals there are.
Even the number of corpses is greater.
A few people, after dying, are taken out by the Dementors and buried in the cemetery.
Most people, their bodies rotting, are left unattended.
Many people here choose to die of starvation.
Endless pain is more terrifying than death.
Du Wei didn't.
The thought of innocence and how to leave Azkaban wasn't particularly pleasant.
Thus, these two things were firmly remembered by Du Wei, not devoured by the Dementors. Instead, because of the beautiful memories, they became even clearer after being absorbed and taken away by the Dementors.
Malicious hatred, like beautiful emotions, ferments over time, becoming more intense.
The longer he stayed in Azkaban, the more his hatred for the Dementors, the Death Eaters, the Ministry of Magic, and dark magic grew!
He ate mechanically, driven by a vague feeling.
"I will definitely leave Azkaban!"
Here, he had forgotten that he was a穿越者 (穿越者 means "穿越者" in Chinese, which can be translated as "time traveler" or "穿越者" in English, but in this context, it means "a person from another world or timeline").
In a daze, he didn't know how many years had passed.
Today, on this not particularly special day, Du Wei heard a voice in his ear.
"Ding."
He didn't move, curled up on the ground, the broken ancient castle above him, sunlight falling on his body, giving him a bit of happiness.
It must be noon.
Soon, the Dementors would smell the happiness and track him down, sucking away the little happiness he had left.
The happiness in his memory had been almost completely absorbed by the Dementors.
Lying on the ground, Du Wei used all his strength to finally see the panel that appeared before him and tried to understand it.
He felt a bit of happiness and hope!
"This is my golden finger, my chance to leave here."
He didn't want to think about how the golden finger appeared.
He just wanted it to appear!
Just to leave.
[User: Du Wei Jones (alias)
Learned Cards: None
Titles: None
Magic Points: 10
Magic Essence: 0
Duel Points: 0]
Just these simple two lines, Du Wei took a while to recognize. It took him a few minutes to understand that this was a card system.
He had almost forgotten what a golden finger was and how to spell it.
"Cards? What are cards? What should I do?"
He found the question mark on the panel, clicked it, and suddenly became excited.
He understood how to use the golden finger!
This card system is similar to a magical awakening, but here, the acquisition of cards requires him to "struggle."
In battle, when he injures an enemy, the enemy will randomly drop a card.
The cards dropped by the enemy are related to the frequency of his daily use.
The dropped cards can be learned, allowing him to cast spells without a wand. Of course, using a wand reduces the magic points he consumes.
As for magic essence and duel points, he didn't care how to obtain them.
He glanced at them and knew that these two things had no effect on improving his current situation.
He wanted cards, cards that could help him leave here!
"Heaven's favor."
In that instant, Du Wei thought of a way to leave!
He curled his body tightly and used a sharp stone to write on the ground.
When he wrote a name, a Dementor not far away floated over.
It smelled happiness.
It was time to eat.
Looking at Du Wei lying on the ground, it used its indistinct face to deeply suck on Du Wei.
In that instant, Du Wei felt his memories and happiness being taken away from him.
He hugged himself tightly and fainted.
After the Dementor was full, it floated away.
When he woke up again, it was already evening.
The Auror outside brought food in.
Du Wei mechanically reached out, ate the food, drank the water, and then saw the name on the ground.
A messy name.
"Black."
Sirius Black.
Looking at the name on the ground, Du Wei's thoughts surged like a tide. He remembered.
He knew that his hope of leaving Azkaban lay with the owner of this name.
This was his only chance.
In the past three centuries, only two people had escaped from Azkaban.
One was Barty Crouch Jr., who was switched out by his mother.
Old Barty Crouch, using his position, brought his seriously ill wife in with a Polyjuice Potion and switched out his son.
Dementors don't recognize faces.
They only detect that a healthy person (Old Barty) brought a dying person (Barty Crouch Jr.'s mother) in, and then this healthy person left with a dying person (Barty Crouch Jr.).
The seriously ill old mother was exchanged for a deranged Death Eater.
The other was Sirius Black.
His escape was due to magic.
He was an unregistered Animagus in the Ministry of Magic.
An Animagus is a term for a wizard who can transform into an animal. When transformed, the Dementors see only an animal.
Dementors have no aggression towards animals.
Barty Crouch Jr.'s escape route was of no help to him.
Du Wei knew he didn't have a high-ranking father in the Ministry of Magic or a mother willing to die for him.
He could only rely on himself.
He had to duel Sirius Black, beat him, and make him drop the Animagus card.
With the card, he could transform into an animal, slip out of the castle, and leave by boat.
There were ships to Britain, with supplies and Aurors on board.
This was his only chance.
"Hope."
What a beautiful word.
Du Wei felt himself come back to life.
He shakily stood up, holding the sharp stone, and looked towards the depths of the castle.
The deeper into the magical ruins, the more Dementors there were.
Even knowing that Sirius Black was held deeper inside and that he had the means for Du Wei to leave, the sight of the flying Dementors caused a physical and psychological resistance, preventing him from entering the depths of the castle.
"Ah!"
He fiercely stabbed the stone into his thigh, the pain making him more alert. He gritted his teeth and walked towards the depths of the castle.
Blood dripped, and Du Wei constantly encouraged himself.
"I am innocent."
"Ministry of Magic."
"Death Eaters."
"Voldemort!"
"Revenge."
"Freedom."
"Happiness."
"Chocolate."
"Hot cocoa."
"Sun."
With each word, he took a step deeper into the castle, using hope and pain to motivate himself. The Dementors circled around him.
These monsters didn't taste a hint of happiness.
Dementors are only allowed to use the "Dementor's Kiss" on prisoners who escape to the sea.
Otherwise, they cannot kill people.
This is their agreement with the wizards.
For a prisoner walking deeper inside, they are more than happy.
That is the taste of food.
Du Wei felt as if he was immersed in rotten seawater, the Dementors making it hard for him to breathe.
But it didn't matter. He looked into each cell, searching for Sirius Black.
These cells had no doors.
The prisoners inside sat there like the dead, motionless.
Here, he saw many high-ranking Death Eaters, who looked at Du Wei blankly.
But these were not important. He also saw Bellatrix, Sirius Black's cousin, who, among the heavy criminals, was one of the few still retaining vitality.
Finally, he opened a cell and saw a bearded man, someone he had never seen before.
Du Wei leaned against the wall, weakly continuing his search.
He didn't have much hope.
"Peter Pettigrew is still alive."
He said tentatively, if this person was really Sirius Black, he would jump up.
Hearing this, the man sitting on the ground suddenly lifted his head.
He looked at Du Wei numbly.
Seeing no reaction, Du Wei planned to turn and try again.
But to his surprise, after a moment, the man suddenly stood up.
He seemed to come alive, grabbing Du Wei.
"What did you say? That's impossible! Why do you know about Peter Pettigrew! I killed him with my own hands!"
He growled softly, staring at Du Wei, incredulous.
Du Wei also stared at him.
He genuinely felt a bit of joy, even though he knew it would attract the Dementors.
But he couldn't help it.
"You are Sirius Black."
Du Wei confirmed again, to himself.
"I found Sirius Black!"
Sirius Black didn't speak, he grabbed Du Wei and said, "What did you say! Peter Pettigrew..."
Confirming that the person before him was Sirius Black, without waiting for Sirius to speak, Du Wei used all his strength and punched him hard in the cheek!
"Give it to me!"
Knocking down the big man, he pounced on Sirius, punching and kicking, not even feeling the pain in his leg.
"Give it to me, give it to me, give it to me!"
His hysterical roar even startled the surrounding Death Eaters.
His reckless attack caught even the tall and strong Sirius off guard.
Sirius, dazed and bleeding from the nose and mouth, looked particularly terrifying!
