Chapter 63

On Monday morning, Shen Donghai drove to pick up Jin Yunhao for work.
He had been driving his own car for this period. As for the SUV assigned to Jin Yunhao, it was still parked in the prosecutor's office parking lot, and he didn't dare to touch it without official business.
In the car, Jin Yunhao's long fingers trembled slightly as he flicked off the fresh ash from his cigarette and asked, "How have they been performing recently?"
Shen Donghai, of course, knew who "they" referred to, but he really didn't know how to report to Jin Yunhao. He chuckled and replied, "Hehe, they're doing okay."
Jin Yunhao paused for a moment, then took a deep drag on his cigarette.
The situation didn't look good.
If the straightforward Shen Donghai found it hard to speak, it seemed that the problems with his prosecutor team were getting bigger.
When Jin Yunhao and Shen Donghai arrived at the Seoul Gangnam District Prosecutor's Office, it was just the peak of the morning rush hour. In the parking lot, they happened to meet Investigator Yoon Gukhong and Secretary Song Enji.
"Oh? Isn't this Prosecutor Jin? Are you feeling better? Can you move around easily? You're back to work so soon?"
When Yoon Gukhong saw Jin Yunhao, he ran over eagerly, starting to show concern from a distance, as if he and Jin Yunhao had a close relationship.
"Hehe, I'm much better, no major issues," Jin Yunhao replied with a smile, though he didn't particularly like Yoon Gukhong. Since Yoon was his subordinate and so enthusiastic, Jin Yunhao didn't want to embarrass him.
"Hehe, Investigator Shen Donghai, you're here early too," Yoon Gukhong added, not forgetting to greet Shen Donghai after flattering Jin Yunhao.
"Hmph!" Shen Donghai snorted, completely ignoring Yoon Gukhong.
Yoon Gukhong's smile froze, and a look of shame and embarrassment flashed across his face before he quickly resumed his cheerful demeanor.
At this moment, Song Enji, dressed in a black blazer, walked over and greeted Jin Yunhao and Shen Donghai with a smile, easing the awkwardness.
After a few pleasantries, the four of them headed together to the solemn and dignified prosecutor's office building.
Since they worked at the prosecutor's office, although there were no explicit dress codes, everyone followed the unwritten rules of the workplace: men wore suits and leather shoes, and women wore business attire.
Thus, the four of them, dressed in formal attire, looked quite impressive as they walked together.
"Vroom... vroom!"
A low, powerful engine sound approached, and a red sports car sped into the parking lot entrance.
"Whoosh!"
The sports car zoomed past Jin Yunhao and the others, then screeched to a halt, parking roughly and rudely, leaving Jin Yunhao speechless.
"..." Jin Yunhao felt a bit disoriented, suddenly wondering if he had come to the wrong place. Was this really the prosecutor's office parking lot?
But the next scene was even more disorienting.
Li Huina, wearing large black sunglasses, a short beige dress, black stockings, and 10-centimeter heels, got out of the sports car with a seductive sway.
Seeing Li Huina's outfit, Jin Yunhao felt quite uncomfortable.
He frowned and asked Yoon Gukhong, who was chuckling, "What... is going on here?"
Yoon Gukhong bowed slightly and replied, somewhat awkwardly, "Hehe, Secretary Li Huina's attire is a bit unconventional."
"Didn't you talk to her about her attire before?" Jin Yunhao was somewhat dissatisfied.
Yoon Gukhong, as an investigator and senior member, was the second-in-command of the team and should have taken charge in Jin Yunhao's absence. However, it seemed that Yoon Gukhong had not fulfilled his duties.
Facing Jin Yunhao's implied criticism, Yoon Gukhong bowed and replied, "I did talk to her, hehe, but I guess she hasn't changed yet. I'll talk to her again later."
Well, he should have known that Yoon Gukhong was a "nice guy" and would find it difficult to discipline or offend others.
It seemed he would have to handle it himself.
Now Jin Yunhao understood why Shen Donghai hadn't given him a straightforward answer earlier.
Shen Donghai had a growing dislike for Yoon Gukhong, and their conflicts were becoming more pronounced.
Yoon Gukhong himself was not very competent, being old and yet still fawning and not working hard.
Li Huina was even more problematic, acting like a complete office fool.
...
His team seemed to be on the verge of breaking up.
Li Huina, unaware of Jin Yunhao's discomfort, continued to walk slowly and seductively up to Jin Yunhao, one hand on her sunglasses, and greeted him in a coquettish manner, "Prosecutor Jin, you're here?"
Jin Yunhao glanced at Li Huina's "flavorful" appearance, nodded, and didn't say much.
He had only interacted with Li Huina for less than a day and didn't want to assert his authority too abruptly and make her feel embarrassed.
He would need to find an opportunity to have a serious talk with Li Huina about her attire, which was too bizarre.
With this in mind, Jin Yunhao didn't continue the conversation and led his four subordinates forward again.
However, this time, they no longer had the elite aura they had earlier, completely overshadowed by Li Huina's bizarre attire.
On the way, noticing the strange looks and whispers from the people around them, Jin Yunhao felt very uncomfortable, as if he were being treated like a monkey in a zoo.
He wanted to quicken his pace but was stopped at the entrance of the building by a familiar person, Deputy Director Qin Yijiao of the Personnel Department.
"Director Qin, good morning," Jin Yunhao had to stop and bow, greeting him.
"Oh? Prosecutor Jin, you've recovered? Why not take more time to rest at home?" Qin Yijiao, with his usual Buddha-like smile, replied.
"Yes, I've recovered, so I came back to work. I've been delaying a lot of work," Jin Yunhao answered.
"True, your criminal department has been very busy recently. With you back, they will have an easier time," Qin Yijiao praised Jin Yunhao but also hinted at something.
"Oh? It seems I've returned at the right time?" Jin Yunhao tried to get more information from Qin Yijiao.
But the old man didn't say more. Instead, he patted Jin Yunhao's arm and gave him a meaningful instruction, "Your most important task now is to integrate your team. Other things can wait; there's always work to be done."
After the Buddha-like figure left, Jin Yunhao pondered the meaning of his last two sentences.
First, he hinted that the criminal department was very busy, then told him not to rush into work or show off.
What was the hidden message?
Jin Yunhao couldn't figure it out, but he became more alert.
It seemed that this return to work would not be easy.
