Chapter 11: Assault and Injury

Seeing his brother-in-law knocked to the ground, Liang Jianqiang became anxious and shouted, "This is a government office! Do you dare to commit violence here? Do you know the consequences?"

Zeng Yi was furious, "So what if it's a government office? Does that mean you can just beat people with a stick?"

Today, it was only Zeng Yi. If it had been someone else, that one strike would have definitely broken half an arm. Therefore, Zeng Yi was extremely angry. These security guards at the Health Department were not professional. They were relatives of several section chiefs and directors, usually dressed in official attire, guarding the door downstairs, and scaring ordinary people. At the entrance of the Health Bureau, dozens of people gathered in a short time. Many brave people from the department came to help, and some even brought tools from their offices.

With the crowd on their side, the security guards regained their courage and shouted, "Damn it, I'm telling you, you won't be leaving here today!" They were eager to act.

A few people were about to rush forward to show their loyalty to Director Chen, which scared the security guards. They knew Zeng Yi's strength and quickly stopped them. If the officials got hurt, their jobs would be in jeopardy.

Guo Penghui saw that Zeng Yi was sitting there calmly, with no intention of fleeing. His eyelids started to twitch. He had seen many fake experts, but none who could remain so calm after being exposed. This guy could have run away earlier.

Seeing the baton about to hit him, Zeng Yi reached out and grabbed it.

Chief Chen was furious, "Damn it, resisting arrest, seizing police equipment! You're out of control!" He kicked Zeng Yi in the abdomen, thinking, "You little bastard, if I don't kick you half to death today, you won't know what a tiger can do."

Zeng Yi lightly sidestepped and quickly struck Chief Chen's waist.

"Ouch!"

Chief Chen felt a sudden numbness in half his body. His kick missed, and he stumbled, almost falling to the ground. "Bastard, you dare to attack a police officer? What are you all standing around for? Get him!" Chief Chen was furious and embarrassed in front of so many people.

"This police officer has quite a presence!" Zeng Yi stood coldly, not moving a step. "In a short time, you've accused me of three crimes. Don't blame me for not warning you. Some accusations are easy to make but hard to take back. Don't let this get out of hand."

Chief Chen shuddered, his mind clearing. His jurisdiction was full of government offices with complex relationships. Sometimes, a small issue could cause big trouble. His predecessors had both fallen because of this.

Hearing Zeng Yi's words, Chief Chen deeply regretted it. The Health Department had reported a fake expert, and he should have just taken the person to the station for investigation. It wasn't too late to act after the investigation.

Chief Chen wasn't a simple-minded person. He quickly thought of a key question: Why would someone impersonate an expert? It would be better to impersonate a leader on the street to scam money or favors. Experts weren't easy to impersonate; they needed medical knowledge, a highly specialized field. How could someone just casually impersonate one?

"Boy, don't be so smug! Just for assaulting a police officer, I can make you serve ten years!" Chief Chen had a plan but still looked fierce, pointing at Zeng Yi, "If you're smart, come with me for an investigation. Otherwise, don't blame me for being harsh!"

Liang Jianqiang pushed through the crowd, "This is the guy. He forged documents, impersonated an expert, and injured our security guard. He's completely lawless and must be punished!"

Chief Chen recognized Liang Jianqiang and patted his chest, "Director Liang, send someone with us to explain the details. Rest assured, no matter how lawless, once in my hands, they'll know the law."

The security guard, who had been groaning on the ground, forced a painful smile, "Boy, you'll be crying soon. You'll see!"

Zeng Yi snorted, "You should worry about yourself. How are you going to reattach that arm?"

Chief Chen frowned, "Get this person to the hospital and get an injury report. You two, take him to the station!"

The two officers tried to grab Zeng Yi, but he pushed them aside, "The police station isn't a dragon's den. I'll go myself!"

Passing Liang Jianqiang, Zeng Yi said sarcastically, "To be honest, if it weren't for the wife of Secretary Fang of the Provincial Party Committee insisting, I wouldn't even bother!" He walked out of the Health Bureau's door, with the two officers following like bodyguards.

"Ha! You're lying! Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee? How about the President..."

Liang Jianqiang trembled with anger, blurting out the words. Realizing his mistake, he quickly covered his mouth, looking around nervously. Seeing no one paying attention, he calmed down and shouted at Zeng Yi's back, "Too arrogant, too arrogant, utterly arrogant! Still defiant at the end, still lying, ha!"

"Calm down, calm down! Why argue with such a person?" Chief Chen looked magnanimous, "Don't worry, I'll deal with him! By the way, where's the forged document? It's evidence, I need to take it!"

Liang Jianqiang remembered the letter and looked down, pointing at Chief Chen's feet, "Here, look, this guy destroyed the evidence, clearly guilty!"

Chief Chen bent down, picked up the pieces, and put them in his bag, "Alright, I'll handle this first. I'll let you know the results after the investigation!"

After seeing the police off, Liang Jianqiang muttered, "Damn it, using Director Feng to scare me. He's in the hospital, how would he even know who you are? Ha!"

The police station was only 500 meters away, and they arrived in two minutes.

Inside, they threw Zeng Yi into the interrogation room. Chief Chen took out the paper pieces and called over two officers, "Put this back together and show it to Deputy Chief Li first."

Then, he pointed at the Health Department's clerk, "Come with me, let's take a statement to understand what happened."
