The next day, Zeng Yi woke up and found himself in the guesthouse, and couldn't help but smile bitterly. He had never been so drunk before. These soldiers were really fierce when it came to drinking, treating alcohol like water.

Zeng Yi sat on the bed, took a few deep breaths to sober up, then got up to wash his face. He suddenly realized his medical bag was gone. He remembered that before drinking yesterday, he had placed it in Tang Weiguo's car. After getting drunk, he had forgotten to take it.

Zeng Yi took out his phone and called Tang Weiguo.

Tang Weiguo was driving at high speed at the time. He said, "The bag is in my car. I had some family matters to attend to. I'll bring it to you once I'm done."

"Alright, take your time!" Zeng Yi had no choice but to agree. He tidied his clothes, went out for breakfast, and then headed to the Health Department.

Tang Weiguo hung up the phone, stepped on the gas, and increased his already high speed. He didn't even blink as he sped through the red lights, scaring other drivers and pedestrians, who stood there cursing the reckless military vehicle.

Rushing recklessly, Tang Weiguo charged into the provincial People's Hospital. Before the car had even stopped, he jumped out and ran into the inpatient department.

"How is Yingxin?" Tang Weiguo asked anxiously. "What did the doctor say?"

The young woman's eyes reddened before she could speak. "She suddenly had a fever in the middle of the night and was shivering. I brought her here."

Through the glass of the pediatric intensive care unit, two children could be seen lying side by side on the bed. They were the twin siblings Zeng Yi had met on the train when he arrived in Rongcheng. At that time, only the little girl seemed slightly unwell. How long had it been since then, and now both children were lying in the hospital. The young woman's heart was broken by the sight, and it was already a great effort for her to hold back her tears.

The old man, who was also standing at the door, saw Tang Weiguo's alcohol-soaked appearance and his anger flared. He wanted to scold him harshly, but the timing was wrong. He glared at Tang Weiguo coldly, then looked at his grandchildren lying there, his face showing deep worry. His grandson had suddenly fallen ill a few days ago and was still in the hospital, and now his granddaughter's condition had worsened. Truly, misfortunes never come singly. The old man, known for his calm and steady demeanor, was now at a loss seeing both his precious grandchildren in the hospital.

"What did the doctor say?" Tang Weiguo asked again.

The young woman wiped her tears with a tissue. "They couldn't determine the cause of the illness. They used conventional fever-reducing methods. We'll know the results in a while."

Tang Weiguo paced back and forth, then punched the wall hard, his face showing deep pain. As a father, seeing his children lying in the hospital and being unable to help was the most painful thing. He regretted not being a doctor and not knowing how to treat them, and he regretted not being able to take their pain.

"I've already called home. Experts from the Military Medical University are on their way!" the young woman added.

After half an hour, the experts from the provincial People's Hospital arrived, checked the temperature, and said, "Fortunately, the situation is under control. The temperature has already dropped."

"Doctor, please do your best to cure them," Tang Weiguo grabbed the doctor's hand, causing the doctor to wince in pain.

"We are already thinking of ways!" The doctor pulled his hand back and shook his wrist, which had been grabbed. "But the current test results don't show the cause of the illness. We can only reduce the fever first, and then take further measures based on the development of the condition."

"Your hospital is so big, with so many doctors, and you can't even determine the cause of the illness?" Tang Weiguo was furious. "Where is your hospital director? Send me the best doctors, or I'll tear down your hospital!"

"You are completely unreasonable!" The doctor rolled his eyes, unable to communicate with this medical layman. "I am the best pediatric expert in the provincial People's Hospital!"

Tang Weiguo was even angrier. The best expert, and this was his level. He wanted to punch the doctor. His son had been in the hospital for several days, and the doctor said he couldn't determine the cause. Now his daughter was ill, and the doctor still couldn't determine the cause. If he couldn't even determine the cause, what was the point of being a doctor? "If you were my soldier and said such things, I would have shot you long ago!"

"Shut up!" The old man was furious. "When you were drinking, did you think about your daughter's illness? Now you're angry at the doctor, what kind of skill is that?"

The doctor, angry, threw his sleeves and said, "I've never seen such unreasonable family members!"

The young woman quickly apologized to the doctor. "Sorry, he's always like this. Please take good care of the children's illness."

The doctor wanted to leave, but after some thought, he held back. This family member was not someone he could afford to offend, not even the hospital director. The young woman was the daughter of a deputy commander of a major military district and a well-known entrepreneur in Rongcheng. If he offended her, he would be the one to suffer.

The doctor suppressed his anger, finished checking the other data, and said, "The situation is stable for now, with no signs of further deterioration. I will discuss the situation with the other experts."

After that, he gave some instructions to the nurse and left with his work board.

After the doctor left, the little girl woke up, and Tang Weiguo and the others were very excited, gathering around the bed. "Xin'er, how do you feel? Is there anything uncomfortable?"

The little girl, seeing herself in the hospital, sighed and wrinkled her nose. "I want to go home!"

"You'll go home when you get better, you'll go home when you get better!" Tang Weiguo, a tall man, felt awkward when talking to his daughter. "Listen to the doctor and get better, and we'll go home."

"I want to drink porridge," the little girl said.

"Alright, what kind of porridge do you want? I'll go buy it right away," Tang Weiguo said hurriedly.

The little girl pouted and thought for a while. "Grandpa's millet porridge."

The old man immediately said, "I'll go cook it for you." He then looked up and realized he was in the hospital. "I'll go home and cook it and bring it to you."

"Xiangnan, you stay here and take care of the children. I'll take Dad home," Tang Weiguo said.

The young woman, named Wei Xiangnan, nodded and specially instructed, "Drive carefully." She had never worried about her husband's driving before, but now with both children in the hospital, she couldn't bear to think what would happen if something happened to her husband.

The two went downstairs and got into the car.

"Father, sit in the front!" Tang Weiguo said, knowing that his father suffered from motion sickness and would feel better in the front.

The old man, angry, got into the car and said, "Can you drink less in the future? You always fight and kill. How long do you want me to worry about you?"

Tang Weiguo didn't say anything. His father, Tang Xiuquan, was a renowned dynamics expert, deputy dean of the Military Engineering College, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a top intellectual. But Tang Weiguo, instead of following his father's path, had always been interested in fighting and killing, joining the special forces and later becoming an officer, dealing with guns and knives. The family had one intellectual and one military man, and they were never satisfied with each other.

Tang Xiuquan, who suffered from motion sickness, closed his eyes as the car sped. He didn't want to see anything, as it would only make him more worried.

The car made a sharp turn, and there was a "bang" from the back seat, as if something had fallen. Tang Xiuquan opened his eyes, looked back, and shouted, "Stop the car!"

Tang Weiguo, being from the special forces, obeyed the command without hesitation, turning the steering wheel to the right and stopping the car steadily on the side of the road. "Father, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" He thought his father was suffering from motion sickness again.

Tang Xiuquan unfastened his seatbelt, got out of the car quickly, and opened the back door. He picked up Zeng Yi's medical bag, examined it carefully, and asked, "Quick, tell me, how did this bag end up in your car?"

"It's a friend's bag. He left it in my car yesterday," Tang Weiguo was puzzled.

Tang Xiuquan asked quickly, "Is it a young man, very gentle, like a college student?"

"Yes, he's very young, and he's a doctor..." Tang Weiguo suddenly slapped his forehead, realizing he had been foolish. Zeng Yi was a doctor, so why hadn't he thought of asking him to examine the children?

"Do you know where he is?" Tang Xiuquan, holding the bag, got back into the car hurriedly. "Quick, let's find him now. As long as we find him, Xin'er and Lin'er will be saved!"

Without a word, Tang Weiguo stepped on the gas, and the car roared forward. He didn't know how his father knew Zeng Yi, but he didn't have time to ask. Since his father said so, there must be a reason.

In the meeting room of the Health Department, a meeting was being held to discuss the establishment of a new health care base hospital.

After Zeng Yi left yesterday, Feng Yuqin went to Chen Gaofeng to discuss the matter. Chen Gaofeng almost immediately agreed. Feng Yuqin was the wife of the provincial party secretary, and when she decided something, no one usually opposed it, as everyone knew that even if they did, it would be in vain.

Today's meeting was to discuss the construction plan of the new hospital. Besides the doctors from the original sanatorium, Feng Yuqin also hoped to transfer some backbone personnel from other hospitals and medical colleges. This involved other people's territories, so even as the wife of the provincial party secretary, she still had to negotiate carefully.

As a member of the preparatory group, Zeng Yi also attended the meeting. However, this matter had nothing to do with him, and he didn't need to give any opinions. He sat in a position near the door, bored but pretending to listen attentively, feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Feeling his phone vibrate twice, Zeng Yi apologized to the person next to him and slipped out of the meeting room.

"Brother Tang, are you done with your business?" Zeng Yi asked.

"Go downstairs now, I'll be there soon!" Tang Weiguo said and hung up.

Zeng Yi, holding his phone, shrugged helplessly. Tang Weiguo was truly efficient, not even willing to say an extra word. He put away his phone and headed downstairs.

As soon as he reached the bottom, he saw Tang Weiguo's car rushing in, startling the security guards at the entrance.
