Only then did she carefully check her injuries. In addition to the injuries on her neck and hands, her feet were also bandaged.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡMpda7t64i5 維尼

Didn’t dad say I’m ok! How could I be fine when I’m wrapped up like a mummy? Dad’s standards are really low! The only time he was only normal was when he chose my mom as his wife.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0RLiNyP3mI 維尼

The pain was still rather intense. She wanted to ask the nurse for painkillers, but she couldn’t find the help button. After looking around, she found that it was at her feet. This really reminded her of the film “Les Misérables.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1PZdjoJmFI 維尼

Cin Heung used her wrapped up limbs in almost every way she could but still failed to press the button; finally she gave up on it. Her usually clear voice had become hoarse at the moment, and she could only call out in a croaky, “Nurse... Nurse…”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡmauqKzae0L 維尼

In the middle of the night, a cleaning lady passed by. Suddenly, she heard soft moaning sounds. She was so scared that she thought she had come across a ghost. Immediately, the cleaning lady found a female nurse for help.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡiedWm4yiBD 維尼

The cleaning lady said, “That’s where I heard some spooky noises just now!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ11c7X0IyJM 維尼

The female nurse replied, “There’s no such thing nowadays!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡmcZBaGBWY1 維尼

Right then, a low voice could be heard again. “Ahh… Body...”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡfUo4wkLomZ 維尼

“Listen to that! The ghost’s asking for a body!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡXBCcUhVfBg 維尼

The nurse listened closely...8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡWb4ziB73pb 維尼

Then she said urgently, “It’s a patient calling ‘anybody’!” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡKr2lYKsuFz 維尼

She immediately ran to the voice and saw a desperate Cin Heung. Her pain had made her suffer for a long time.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡWasZT3rysb 維尼

After taking the painkiller, she placed back the help button and finally slept peacefully.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡdDrCLweXfZ 維尼

Having a good night’s sleep, her body had also recovered a little; at least her voice was a lot better now. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡYDxwy38IOE 維尼

The next morning, Cin Heung’s mother came to visit her. Cin Heung asked her mother to hold the phone for her as she wanted to call the company. She called Natalie from HR, telling her that she needed two months off after the accident.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡlA0pJX6QVm 維尼

Natalie was surprised and asked, “But who can take over your work?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ40x9nKd8CJ 維尼

“Wendy knows how things are done. You can look for her.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡtF3Z1Bmp5H 維尼

“I’ll inform all the departments then.” After saying that, Natalie immediately hung up.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡVdJgybeoWh 維尼

It was normal that the biggest concern of large companies was work. Their worry for employees was probably paper thin. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡS9p08QHV8s 維尼

After eating her mother’s congee, Cin Heung felt satisfied.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡVDHCsixaG0 維尼

Her mother then told her, “Last night, a person named Sum Ting called for you. I accidentally told her that you were in the hospital.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡprJOhHbcuV 維尼

“Mom, how could you tell others about this.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡqQ4MmzlF0I 維尼

“Well, she said she’s your longtime friend. You wouldn’t want to lie to her right?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡN6Q5tDRiXb 維尼

“Just covering up, not lying.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6XInlWSyGL 維尼

“How can you be so insincere to your friends!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡT75fnfSRu5 維尼

“It’s not like that…”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡI1Lzvafeng 維尼

“Well, wait for me. I’ll clean the dishes.” Saying that, her mother went out of the room. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡxf16FoyLAr 維尼

Cin Heung soon fell asleep.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡkv38Q0hfv0 維尼

Suddenly, there was a lot of noise outside the door. Someone said, “Is it here?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡS1GrZvuuJQ 維尼

Another person then said, “No! Over there!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡwdPNwGY1zx 維尼

“Come in and have a look!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ9v3Wk1piAf 維尼

“This is the hospital! Please be quiet!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡJj9Sd2W9JJ 維尼

After getting warned by the nurse, the group became silent. Soon, someone pushed the door open quietly and looked around. Suddenly, the person became excited and said, “I told you she was here!”. The other people in the group then said in unison, “Shhh! Quiet!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1wGtvQ4x5H 維尼

It was Sum Ting, Manman, Gou Jing, and Wing Tung, a total of four people. They rushed to Cin Heung and were all shocked.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡwJsAGdDcw7 維尼

Seeing her with her eyes closed, her whole body was either wrapped with white bandages or had been cast. If her face was not exposed, none of them would have recognised her. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡPcm27aBQrk 維尼

Sum Ting said, “I didn’t expect it to be so serious!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡrIk7OzZRGP 維尼

Gou Jing said sadly, “Cin Heung, who would’ve thought that right after we met, you would… you would…”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡrr0AjSwu2t 維尼

Wing Tung cried as though she had lost someone, “Cinheng… sob…” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡqogt0taLc0 維尼

Manman said sadly, “I was going to invite you to my wedding… sob…”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡfsZvMLgyAK 維尼

The four of them hugged their heads and cried bitterly.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡXKTvAT9wJ3 維尼

When Cin Heung’s mother came back, she saw this group of people weeping around her daughter and immediately ran over to have a look.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡahk7IgGwOj 維尼

Cin Heung also woke up around that time. She blinked her big eyes and stared at them. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0PZGElblyz 維尼

Seeing her open her eyes, all the women said in a hurry, “She’s awake! Call the doctor! Quickly! Quickly!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ5QnTu7bhBi 維尼

Cin Heung’s mother immediately exclaimed, “Hold on!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡTfkVUtUANM 維尼

“Mom, see what you’ve done. Do you understand now?” Cin Heung said. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡjzIWjiCzhQ 維尼

This was why Cin Heung didn’t want to tell others about this; she didn’t want them to worry about her. Immediately after receiving the news, Sum Ting had already gathered the girls to visit her. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6fRrHp6eXU 維尼

In truth, she was actually moved to see them concerned about herself.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡGzW9BhZDLA 維尼

Cin Heung felt grateful and said, “Everyone, I’m fine. I hurt my limbs but not my insides’ alright.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡrIdFw2Y9i5 維尼

“You’re already wrapped up like this, you sure you’re fine?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡMoyN3cZ9aa 維尼

“You’re just like a mummy.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡhEIM7W7Nht 維尼

“I say you’re like ironman!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡUrmiHrZgjT 維尼

“I’m glad you’re not disfigured! At least you’re still a doll!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡeWkgmsMKYP 維尼

The girls became untethered upon feeling a little relieved. When a group of girls came together, there was an infinite topic to talk about. Cin Heung, who was usually cold, became more talkative too. Cin Heung’s mom joined in on the spur of the moment as well. In the end, even a nurse chimed in, and they talked about explosive secrets of celebrity breast augmentations.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ6pr9sY4Iwf 維尼

The female nurse whispered to the group, “This actress did it here...”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡQ2llch8Jwm 維尼

All the women were in uproar!8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1JeHMaxM7h 維尼

Finally, a fat head nurse asked them to leave, citing that they were too rowdy.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡPbLZrD4Kgf 維尼

Before leaving, Gou Jing wanted to write on Cin Heung’s plaster cast. She took out her pen and wrote, “Don’t worry, beauty will return! Recover soon!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ5Bw6tFyCh1 維尼

The other girls also wrote, “Let’s drink all night after your resurrection!”, “Sincerely inviting you to my wedding! Get well soon!” “Don’t cry, just laugh! Wing Tung’s proverbs!” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡgmj5zgH4B5 維尼

Cin Heung read the text and said with a smile, “All your grammar is wrong, I’m still alive. Wing Tung, it seems to me you’re the cry baby. Manman, I will surely attend your wedding.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡZFfdbWmVPB 維尼

Sum Ting pursed her mouth and said, “Oh, women are most afraid of breast disease. Don’t say it!” As she said that, she held her breasts.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡV6odIDlVzR 維尼

[TL note: ‘grammar mistake’ and ‘breast disease’ are homophones in Cantonese.]8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡsb5546aJ3R 維尼

The crowd laughed out again.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡNMErUNVmOU 維尼

Cin Heung was too lazy to respond to that. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡdYx0Eieccd 維尼

The fat head nurse came out with her hand on her hip and wanted the girls out. The girls hurriedly left and said, “We’ll come again!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡxNi0DgbmpZ 維尼

After Cin Heung’s mother said goodbye to the girls, she said to Cin Heung, “Friends are like this, do you get it now?.” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡcCXMHr1Xj6 維尼

Cin Heung said, “You’re the smartest mom!” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡNYmbmo1h77 維尼

The next night, Wendy suddenly came to visit her, bringing some nutritious drinks for Cin Heung.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ2fdRDciN0A 維尼

Wendy said, “Sister Wun, your injuries look bad! Everyone told me to ask how you’re doing.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡBHxzYC8Oup 維尼

Cin Heung could only say softly, “I’m alright. Thank you very much.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡaUOAfCSFxy 維尼

“I wanted to ask you to sign some urgent documents, but maybe we can do it later,” Wendy said.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡgmL54V7oSW 維尼

Cin Heung was a little surprised, then said to her, “Well... you can go straight to Mr. Gum.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡznyBa0bHIj 維尼

“Is that ok?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡhnzElpToMj 維尼

“That’s what I decided.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ3GQM7Vs29i 維尼

Wendy did some chores for her then rushed off. Later on, Cin Heung never got any visits from anyone from the company. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡJfV9sR0uvo 維尼

Cin Heung recovered surprisingly fast.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡNEVIHOtqeJ 維尼

Her father said with pride, “Her body recovered so fast because of martial arts! Ha ha!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ4w5i4YXfEu 維尼

“Dad, you are exaggerating.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡypVYjuqHq6 維尼

Her mother then said, “Your father’s always bragging!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ8SrRJZEr7h 維尼

That day, she was finally able to get out of bed in a wheelchair, having been stuck in bed for a long time. Cin Heung insisted on going out in the sun, so her parents pushed her out to soak up some sun shine. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡzNvlVxoJDH 維尼

Cin Heung and her parents enjoyed a walk around the garden.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡTlSXmrRQMq 維尼

“Dad, mom, how long has it been, us three together like this?”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡElAlv2o5ke 維尼

They all thought for a moment.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡKb8R2DqoYM 維尼

Her mother then said, “Since you went off to college. Count the years yourself.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡXwV8vmzjFY 維尼

Her father, “Has it been that long? Time really flies.” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡYENLxA0wGk 維尼

Cin Heung said, “Should we be like this more often in the future?” 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ0WxTHqsr5w 維尼

Her mother said, “Knock on wood! I don’t want to see you dressed like this again.”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ1iHYPDEwLJ 維尼

Her father, “Girl! You have your own future! I don’t want a useless daughter!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡfRIGuYyzNh 維尼

Cin Heung laughed till her neck hurt.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡ4slKlrABPi 維尼

Her parents knew what she meant but didn’t say more. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡdFmgxDzBsq 維尼

Since then, the four girls would often come to visit, though that also meant that the fat head nurse always had to be stern to them. 8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡsT3cOE0efJ 維尼

After some time, Cin Heung could finally walk with crutches, and the doctor said she could rest at home.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡCpVYWAx0jZ 維尼

On the day she left the hospital, her parents and the four girls came and helped her with going home.8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡs0xNleH0Oj 維尼

Cin Heung said with a smile, “Wow, I thought I was a diplomat! Ha ha!”8964 copyright protection328ＰＥＮＡＮＡwOZ0GyDl51 維尼
