Chapter 91

All the tributes entered the arena, where the starting point was a vast grassland with a giant inverted cone at the center. The cone was golden, hollow, and half-buried underground, with an opening at least five to six meters high. This was the center of the arena, the famous Horn of Zeus, and the tributes formed a circle around it with a radius of 50 meters.

Scattered around the Horn of Zeus were various items. The closer to the Horn, the greater their effect and value; the farther away, the less useful they were. All the weapons were placed inside the Horn of Zeus, and only those who survived the intense battles could obtain them.

All the tributes stood on a circular metal plate. The rules stated that before the gong sounded, no tribute could step off the metal plate. If anyone violated this rule, they would be blown to pieces by the landmines buried around the area. Once the gong sounded, the landmines would become ineffective.

All the tributes were eager and made preparations to sprint. Some faced the Horn of Zeus, while others faced the nearby forest.

In the movie, when the gong sounded, most of the tributes rushed towards the Horn of Zeus, turning the area into a bloody battlefield. More than half of the tributes died there, and in the end, the professional tributes from Districts 1 and 2 obtained almost all the supplies. The main characters, Katniss and Peeta, followed Haymitch's advice, grabbed the supplies from the outer area, and immediately ran into the forest, trying to stay as far away from other tributes as possible.

Compared to the newcomers, the adventurers were well-versed in the plot. Therefore, when the gong sounded, many of them chose to flee, and some of the tributes followed the advice of their allied adventurers and also fled into the forest. As a result, the scale of the battle near the Horn of Zeus was much smaller than expected.

However, the brutality did not decrease with the smaller scale. Those who dared to rush towards the Horn of Zeus were mostly confident in their own strength, and when these strong individuals met, no one backed down. The clash of cold weapons, the groans of flesh, and the cries of pain echoed continuously. Although the tributes were young, they showed no mercy when killing, with grim faces and ruthless actions, as if each opponent was a mortal enemy. In contrast, the seasoned adventurers appeared numb and composed, their faces expressionless as they wielded their weapons and struck with the ease of eating and drinking, methodically seeking out the next target after ending a life.

Seeing this, Ma Le couldn't help but sigh. The city battle system might be a game far more cruel than the Hunger Games.

Lingzhi had already hidden Katniss and Peeta in the forest, not only because of Haymitch's warning but also because Ma Le had promised to bring them weapons and supplies.

The battle, which seemed chaotic and long, actually lasted less than five minutes. Most of the participating tributes had fallen, and only nine adventurers and three tributes remained standing, each holding weapons and facing off against each other. At this moment, Ma Le, who was a bit slow, was still standing on the metal plate 50 meters away, observing the situation. Perhaps because he was too far from the battle, no one came to bother him.

The adventurers here were powerful, but ultimately just beginners. With the ban on items and equipment, their armor was mostly in single digits, and their defense generally did not exceed 20%. In such a situation, a weapon could significantly enhance their strength. Facing an unarmed opponent, they could still fight, but with both sides wielding sharp weapons, it was unwise to engage in a direct confrontation. The strength gap was not significant, and a single stab to a vital point could be fatal for anyone. It was better to divide the supplies and retreat for the time being.

The remaining twelve people were roughly divided into two groups. One group was led by Kerlayev, a short and stocky partner of Moon Lake. Most of those following him were people who had attached themselves to Moon Lake during the training period. However, for some reason, Moon Lake and the two tributes from District 2 were not present. Kerlayev, like Ma Le, seemed to have been sent out alone to gather items.

The other group, to Ma Le's surprise, was led by a handsome young man. Ma Le recognized him; when Helias and Moon Lake had their disagreement, four people did not side with either party. Besides Ma Le and Lingzhi, there was the old man Soros, and the last one was this young man. Ma Le remembered his name was Andy. Lingzhi's database had no information on him, and Ma Le, who often skipped training, had not paid much attention to this man. He didn't expect Andy to have formed his own group. Upon closer inspection, almost all the people behind him were those who had initially supported Helias. After Helias was defeated by Ma Le and lost his authority, most of the adventurers who had attached themselves to him became fence-sitters, trying to curry favor with Ma Le. In the end, they were all taken in by Andy. Ma Le narrowed his eyes; this pretty boy was not to be underestimated.

"Let's do this: the swords and throwing knives go to us, and we'll split the ordinary supplies equally, how about that?" Kerlayev proposed. His teammates, Cato, who was skilled with swords, and Clove, who was skilled with throwing knives, would be able to perform at a level comparable to the adventurers with these weapons.

Hearing Kerlayev's proposal, Andy smiled and said, "No problem, but we want the supplies inside the Horn of Zeus!" Kerlayev immediately became angry: "You're dreaming! The supplies inside the Horn of Zeus are of high quality, worth at least ten times more than those outside. You want to take them all for yourself?"

Andy shrugged and said, "You're exaggerating. The quality inside is high, but the quantity is small. In comparison, there are many more scattered outside. You won't lose out!"

"You're full of it!" Kerlayev shouted. "What's the point of having more if you can't carry them away? In this situation, quality is more important than quantity. If you don't think it's a loss, why don't you take the garbage outside?"

The two groups were negotiating intensely. Seeing that they had stopped fighting, Ma Le, who was far away, found it boring and finally stepped off the metal plate, starting to walk towards the Horn of Zeus.

The adventurers' senses were extremely sharp. Although they initially ignored this guy on the periphery, as Ma Le approached, they felt an无形的压力正在逼近. Kerlayev and Andy stopped arguing, and both groups turned to look at Ma Le, wondering what this big guy was up to.

Ma Le didn't take them seriously and just focused on picking up useful supplies from the outer area. He grabbed a plastic sheet here, a metal pot there, carried a bag of apples, and picked up two bottles of drinks, busily collecting items.

Soon, he had gathered a pile of items. Seeing that there was nothing useful left in the outer area, Ma Le started moving towards the inner circle. As this big guy slowly approached, the adventurers in front of the Horn of Zeus became tense, drawing their weapons and pointing them at Ma Le as a warning.

But Ma Le seemed oblivious, continuing to collect supplies and pile them up. The others watched his every move closely but, intimidated by his previous defeat of Helias, no one dared to stop him. After all, there were so many supplies; letting him take a few wouldn't matter. While the adventurers were trying to avoid conflict, the three tributes were getting restless. A thin guy swallowed and, holding a short knife, was about to charge forward but was stopped by Andy's wave.

Finally, Ma Le finished collecting the supplies and turned his attention to the weapons displayed inside the Horn of Zeus.

Ma Le looked around and saw a beautiful bow with a quiver of arrows. This was perfect for Katniss! He walked over excitedly, but the entrance to the Horn of Zeus was blocked by the tributes facing off. "Excuse me, could you let me through?" Ma Le said casually to an adventurer, as if he were asking a passenger to move in a crowded bus.

Hearing this, the adventurer immediately became furious. If Ma Le's previous behavior could be tolerated, this was a blatant provocation, completely ignoring him! This adventurer was a significant figure in his city and had been forced to play the role of a good guy for several days. Already feeling frustrated, he was now faced with this bizarre challenger, which made him even angrier!

"Go to hell!" the adventurer shouted, raising his short knife to strike Ma Le. There was a "crack," and the sharp knife did not cut down but fell to the ground due to the adventurer's hands slipping. The adventurer's head was twisted 180 degrees, clearly dead.

The lifeless body slowly fell, and the other tributes were in shock! How did he do that? It was too fast to see clearly!

This was the difference in strength. Although the adventurers here were elites, they were still beginners and lacked Ma Le's extraordinary luck, with a maximum attribute of only about 20 points.

The Silver Snow team in the Terminator world was in a sorry state because they encountered stronger opponents. Otherwise, with Stone Ox's 44 points of strength, he would have been a formidable force. A typical ordinary level had a maximum attribute of 20 to 30 points, and a rare expert like the old gentleman Brad was already capable of competing with weaker veterans! Ma Le, who had defeated these enemies, would not take the beginners seriously, even if they were the best among beginners...

Ma Le sighed and said to the others, "Those weaker than this guy, leave. I don't have the patience to deal with you. As for you two, I'm sorry, but you have some strength. Leave your lives behind!" Ma Le pointed at the leaders of the two groups, Kerlayev and Andy.
