Love Broadcast
Spring Love Record 1
In March, the temperature warmed up. The branches were sprouting, tulips were blooming around the world. The afternoon sun made people languid.
Every year, Jiang Ying’s birthday was on Arbor Day. Yun Xian would plant flowers on the open space outside of Cloudside. He was not only contributing to make the earth greener, but also to record her yearly growth.
Last year, he planted orange roses. Jiang Ying had planted one by herself before, but she was careless and it failed to survive to the next year.
At this moment, the café did not have a lot of customers. Yun Xian leaned against the counter and held a tablet in his hands. He was hesitating between grape hyacinth1 and blue plumbago2.
“Hey, Yun Xian.”
Yun Xian looked up and saw Li Zhicheng’s smiling face. He immediately knew that he was going to tell him a bad idea.
“How about planting carnations?” Li Zhicheng suggested.
“Carnations?”
“They’re so practical. You can give it during Women’s Day3 to Mother’s Day4 to Teacher’s Day5.”
Why would he give flowers during Teacher’s Day? Yun Xian understood and grimly said, “I’ll plant flowers for Jiang Ying. Are you going to regift them to Zhou Yi6?”
Li Zhicheng shook his head and said, “This is making the best use of everything.”
Yun Xian didn’t want to answer him.
On March 12, Li Zhicheng gave approval for Jiang Ying to leave work earlier. This guy finally did the human resource part.
Jiang Ying walked out of the office building and immediately saw Yun Xian when she turned the corner.
The sun was shining, and the spring wind was warm and gentle. He was planting flowers outside. He squatted at the edge of the flower bed with his shirt sleeves rolled up. The barista’s apron was tied up in a beautiful bow at his back.
A customer came out and greeted him. Yun Xian smiled and said, “Go slow, come again next time.”
“What is it this year?” Jiang Ying walked towards him. She put her hands behind, and bent down to look into the flowerpot.
“Guess.” ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ
Jiang Ying frowned and shook her head. She couldn’t tell what this big seed was. “What is it?”
Yun Xian filled up the soil and kept her in suspense. “You will know when it blooms.”
“It will take a long time.”
Yun Xian turned his eyes to the rose flowers on the side. They were lovely, fully grown and had a fruity scent. He said, “Time passes quickly, little friend.”
Jiang Ying raised her hands and put them together to shield Yun Xian from the sun’s glare.
“If we plant one plant like this every year, our customers in the future would think that we have a flower shop here, wouldn’t they?”
Yun Xian said, “I won’t sell it.”
“Why? It’ll be fine. It’ll be a side job.”
“All the flowers are planted by the boss for the boss’s wife. You can’t regift the flowers to other people.”
Jiang Ying blinked. “But there’s a best use for everything.”
Yun Xian was surprised, and then chuckled, “Is this your company culture?”
Jiang Ying didn’t understand. “What?”
Yun Xian raised his head, and Jiang Ying stood beside him and produced a small shady spot for him.
“Let’s water it.” He stood up as he spoke.
Jiang Ying gave an oh and grabbed the watering can.
“Happy birthday.” He said it again even though he said it this morning.
The water droplets reflected the sun’s rays, and Jiang Ying smiled back. “You are also happy.”
The coffee beans aroma blended into the air, and the flowers and plants were warmed by the sun to give the feeling of spring.
In a flash, it was Jiang Ying’s 27th birthday.
This was the start of their third year together.
