Chapter 7

In the dead of night, the darkness enveloped everything, yet the Yinxun Building in the high-tech park was still brightly lit. As a rising star in the industry, the company was known for its bold and aggressive approach, and the intensity of its overtime culture was truly hair-raising. The technical department, in particular, was the epitome of this, and on this day, the technical office was, as usual, brightly lit well into the night. However, the engineers engaged in their work had a very different mindset compared to the past.

Irritation, anger, gnashing of teeth... all sorts of negative emotions were rampant. Normally, working overtime at night could easily make people irritable, but the tense atmosphere in the technical department was largely due to one person.

"Send, send, keep sending! Three against one and you still get wiped out! Do you even know how to play! Do you even know how to play!"

Accompanied by a sudden burst of roars, more than five engineers in the office were startled, and they mistakenly entered data while typing, causing a series of red warning messages to pop up on their screens, leading to a chain of sighs.

Amidst the sighs, the distinctive roar stood out. A young man in his late twenties, with greasy hair and dull eyes, was enthusiastically playing Dota at his workstation.

In a high-tech company like Yinxun, a 9-to-5 work schedule was almost a fairy tale. As long as the tasks were completed, the remaining time could be freely used. However, almost no one in the technical department could finish their work ahead of time, and working overtime until the early hours of the morning was a common occurrence. Occasionally, they could leave early, but they would go straight home to sleep. It was extremely rare to find someone like this new employee, who played games from 3 PM until late at night.

"Kill me, kill me! Quick, kill me once! I want to die once!"

"Send, send, keep sending! Stop playing and go home!"

Finally, the technical department director, Xiong Fei, could no longer tolerate it. He stood up, slammed his desk, and shouted, "Wang Shaobo! Are you done yet! If you're going to play, play quietly! Don't you know it affects your colleagues' work!"

Only after Xiong Fei spoke did the player, who had been roaring, reluctantly take off his headphones and stand up to explain, "Roaring is a common tactic in Dota..."

"You don't need to explain to me! No loud noise in the office!"

Wang Shaobo, with a regretful look, slumped his shoulders and said, "Understood." He then sat back down and quietly opened a video to watch.

Seeing him quiet down, the others finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, after a while, a colleague glanced at Wang Shaobo's screen and immediately spat out a mouthful of water, then asked in horror, "You're watching porn!?"

Wang Shaobo nodded matter-of-factly, "It's normal entertainment for single people. Don't you watch it?"

The colleague wanted to say no, but thought it would be dishonest and unfair to the girls on his hard drive, so he remained silent and ended the conversation.

This time, Wang Shaobo was indeed much quieter, watching the video silently without a word. However, his workstation was in a clear line of sight, and a dozen or so people could easily see the white, soft flesh on his screen. Despite wearing headphones, people felt as if they could hear the woman's moans.

Most of the technical men working overtime at night were single and particularly susceptible to such stimuli. Their attention quickly wavered, and they couldn't focus on their work, often glancing at Wang Shaobo's computer screen, captivated by the actress's alluring figure.

"What are you all doing!?"

As the technical department director, Xiong Fei quickly noticed the abnormal behavior of his subordinates. Their work was connected to a network, and each person's progress was clearly displayed in the system. Xiong Fei could see that over twenty people's work had not progressed for a long time!

Looking up, he saw a group of people intently watching Wang Shaobo's computer screen, some with lecherous smiles, some blushing, and others subtly wriggling their bodies as if releasing something...

Xiong Fei roared and then stood up, walking directly to Wang Shaobo's workstation. He looked at the screen and immediately felt a dark cloud descend over his eyes, as if he had been hit in the chest. He took several steps back.

"You, you scoundrel, actually dare to watch porn in the office!"

Wang Shaobo chuckled, "Yinxun's network is great, and downloading videos is super fast. I can drag videos from other star systems in seconds..."

"Who asked you about that!"

"The screen is also excellent, with great 3D effects, but the headphones are a bit lacking..."

Xiong Fei, feeling his blood boil and his face turn red, said no more. He reached out and pulled the power cord from Wang Shaobo's computer, then coldly snorted and left the office, heading straight to the top floor to report to the CEO.

Wang Shaobo shrugged, completely ignoring Xiong Fei, and quietly plugged the power cord back in, turned on the computer, and continued to watch the video with great interest.

The surrounding colleagues were amazed by his audacity and secretly wondered if he would be fired tomorrow or the day after.

"CEO Wen, that Wang Shaobo is outrageous!"

Xiong Fei barged into the CEO's office, only to see the usually aloof CEO Wen in an intimate conversation with her new assistant, Feng Yue.

Xiong Fei stumbled, quickly closed the door, and stepped back, wishing he could slap himself. Everyone in the company knew that CEO Wen favored the returned overseas student Feng Yue, and there might be a romantic relationship between them. They were alone in the office late at night... He should have knocked before entering!

On the other hand, Xiong Fei was also deeply troubled. CEO Wen was always sharp and capable, so how could she be so blinded by a pretty face? What was so special about Feng Yue that made CEO Wen rely on him so much?

Xiong Fei, of course, did not know that Feng Yue, whom he saw as a pretty face, was actually the super soldier Feng Yin from China. And the CEO Wen he respected was currently in grave danger—Miss Wen was being targeted by the Yang family for revenge, a matter known only in the underground world.

After a few seconds of fear outside the door, he heard CEO Wen, both amused and exasperated, tapping the table, "Come in, Director Xiong, there's nothing to be ashamed of."

Xiong Fei realized that his hasty retreat had implied that something improper was happening inside, which was utterly foolish. He had no choice but to enter with a sheepish look and recounted the events in the technical department in detail.

CEO Wen was also surprised, "This guy is really doing whatever he wants!"

Xiong Fei lamented, "Not just whatever he wants, but outright mischief! He caused so many problems on his first day of work. If this continues, it's unimaginable!"

CEO Wen smiled, "But he solved a problem that had plagued your technical department for over a month this morning."

Xiong Fei was speechless, "That was just a stroke of luck... Alright, I admit he's very talented, not inferior to the core engineers at Jiudu Dao Ge, but his work attitude is really unacceptable."

CEO Wen, recalling the forced photo session from the previous day, was also at a loss, "Yes, he is indeed a unique individual. I'll talk to him tomorrow. If he continues to disrupt others' work, I'll give him a few days of paid leave."

Xiong Fei was speechless, "Paid leave on the first day of work? What kind of treatment is this!"

After Xiong Fei left, CEO Wen sighed, feeling exhausted as she rested her head on the desk.

The super soldier, disguised as Feng Yue, looked at her with concern, "I think the one who needs a break is you."

CEO Wen smiled, "Only you don't have the right to advise me to take a break. You haven't slept for three days, working on those meeting materials, right?"

"My constitution is different. How can you compare yourself to me? Take a day off. I'll handle the work tomorrow. I've been working with you for a few days and have a good understanding of the situation."

CEO Wen laughed, "Yes, I forgot you were a successful entrepreneur in the past. How could such trivial work be difficult for you... Alright, I'll rest for a day. Unfortunately, I can only rest in this building and can't go far."

"No problem. It won't be long before I root out the masterminds behind this. The Galaxy won't be able to bully China. Once this is over, you'll be free." Feng Yin, having shifted his attention to work, casually opened Wang Shaobo's file, "This person is indeed interesting. I really want to talk to him tomorrow."

"Um." CEO Wen felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her, almost unable to keep her eyes open.

She had just completed a late-night conference call with great energy, but when Feng Yin took over her work, the accumulated fatigue of the past few days suddenly burst forth, and she could no longer hold on.

She rested her head on Feng Yin's shoulder, intending to close her eyes for a moment, but soon fell into a deep sleep.

Feng Yin looked at the woman sleeping on his shoulder, sighed softly, and his eyes filled with concern. After a moment, he turned his gaze back to the screen, and as he looked at Wang Shaobo's resume, his expression grew cold.
