As he heard those words that instantly chilled the room down, Sung-hyun swallowed hard. He was talking to Eun-woo as he had told him to, but he couldn't tell Eun-woo everything yet.

Sung-hyun made a stiff face and said with his head hung down.

"Not yet."

Shi-hyuk, who had been looking at Eun-woo, turned his head at his words. His deep black eyes pierced Sung-hyun in the coldest way possible, making Sung-hyun hung his head even lower with a nervous face.

"What were you doing until now?"

"I'm sorry."

As Sung-hyun apologized without making excuses, Shi-hyuk looked at him for a moment before quickly turning his head away and saying coldly.

"Get out."

"Pardon? But..."

With a puzzled look, Sung-hyun raised his head.

"I said get out."

"....."

For a short while, Sung-hyun looked at Eun-woo, whose face was white as a ghost, and then he gave Shi-hyuk a silent bow and left the room. Although he was worried about Eun-woo being left alone with Shi-hyuk in this room, there was nothing more he could do. As Sung-hyun got out of the room with a complex web of feelings, there was a moment of silence inside the room.

In the meantime, Eun-woo couldn't say a word. It was hard enough for him to understand the current situation. He didn't know why the man who suddenly came in kicked out Sung-hyun, but even watching it happening with his own eyes, he couldn't even stop the man from doing so.

After Sung-hyun left, Shi-hyuk looked at Eun-woo again. When the boy before his eyes was going through his heat last time, he felt an irresistible urge even if it were only for a moment, but he didn't feel so now. There was nothing extraordinary about Eun-woo's face aside from it being very pale, so after looking at such a face for a moment, Shi-hyuk opened his mouth.

"How much did Secretary Cha tell you?"

"Sorry?"

"Hasn't he told you anything?"

Eun-woo barely understood that the "Secretary Cha" the man was referring to was the one who had just left the room, the one who was talking to him just a little while ago. And at Shi-hyuk's question, Eun-woo recalled what Sung-hyun had said to him. A surprising proposal from the person who had saved him, offering him an extraordinary sum of 100 million won in a year...

Suddenly, feeling doubtful, Eun-woo asked Shi-hyuk while looking at him.

"I... hm, are you the one who helped me two days ago...?"

Seeing the circumstances, he was certain it had been the alpha before his eyes. Still, Eun-woo stammered his question, wanting to know it for sure, but Shi-hyuk wouldn't do the favour of answering him.

"Answer my question."

Shi-hyuk pressured him and Eun-woo involuntarily bit his lips. Somehow he felt like crying. Yet he couldn't refuse from answering him. So he opened his mouth and stammered out.

"He said the one who had helped me... would give me 100 million won a year..."

He told you so far then. Shi-hyuk murmured to himself. After getting a better grasp of the situation, he spoke in a casual tone.

"I'll give you 100 million a year, and another 100 million when this is over."

"What?"

"There's a condition, though."

Eun-woo's eyes widened as the previously suggested amount rose even further. Shi-hyuk saw his surprised face and continued with a blank face.

"Give birth to my child, omega."

He couldn't understand Shi-hyuk's words right away. It was only after some time that Eun-woo was able to open his mouth again to speak.

"A... child?"

"You must know that an alpha's child can only be conceived by an omega. That's what it means."

"I have to give birth? Me?...To yours?"

Shi-hyuk nodded slowly and looked at Eun-woo, who thought with a stunned face.

He's out of his mind. That man is out of his mind. How could he... to me, a person who has just met him for the first time?

Eun-woo shook his head as he didn't have the capacity to understand with common sense what Shi-hyuk had said. So he turned down his offer in bewilderment.

"I-I refuse."

"Then get out."

"Sorry?"

"Get out right now."

Listening to Shi-hyuk's cold-hearted words, Eun-woo gave him an even more perplexed face. But regardless of what he felt, Shi-hyuk continued to speak with an expressionless face.

"Get out if you don't need the money you would never be able get your hands on. And don't come looking for me if you roam like a beast after going into heat again."

Eun-woo was speechless for a moment. He couldn't rebut Shi-hyuk's assertions at all.

Shi-hyuk's voice fell over his head which had unconsciously dropped low. It was a bone-chilling voice.

"This is a simple contract."

Shi-hyuk continued with a freezing voice.

"I need an omega, and you need money."

He looked at Eun-woo, who was trembling without being able to say a word, and smiled, lifting the corner of his lips a little.

To render the opponent immobile by providing conditions that made the other unable to refuse. That was exactly Shi-hyuk's specialty.

"You have to stay here until the work is done. I'll give you everything you need and provide you with the best service during that time."

Shi-hyuk tapped his fingers on the table.

He needed an omega to give birth to his child just in time. And since the thing that he wanted had come rolling to him on his own, it was only natural for him to make a good use of it.

Eun-woo lowered his head, his white face going almost blue. He couldn't look at Shi-hyuk straight. What on earth does this person think of me? However, he couldn't just walk out of the room, and he felt very pathetic because he couldn't do so.

When Eun-woo left this room, he would have to face his cold reality once again. After his heat began, he couldn't do a part-time job properly, so he was actually unable to make enough money these few months. And the money he had in the bank, which he had saved solely for his college tuition, was slowly running out.

He tried to live with a positive mind, but this was Eun-woo's current reality. So trying to take the CSAT in spite of this was just his unwillingness to admit defeat. It was the only little pride that he had left in him...

Eun-woo raised his bowed head and faced Shi-hyuk's cold dark eyes.

"Are you giving it to me... for real?"

Eun-woo's face looked pitiful, as he asked him with a trembling voice and seemed almost about to burst into tears. If this had been the man who had left the room, Sung-hyun, he would feel guilty right away, but Shi-hyuk was different. He answered Eun-woo with a blank face.

"Of course. I'll prepare a contract as well soon."

Eun-woo bit his trembling lips. Maybe it was because his body and mind had weakened due to the continuous hardships? It was hard for Eun-woo to refuse his offer even if this was like leaning against a falling wall.

Money. If only he had had the money, he wouldn't have lived like this. And even though he had received some insurance money after his parents had died in the accident, they had a lot of debts so...

Most of the insurance money he got was used to pay off the debts. Also, the man who had made his parents die under the influence of alcohol had no fortune or possessions, as expected, so no financial compensation was made. Still, Eun-woo was satisfied that he went to jail and paid for his crimes.

And it felt too hopeless to make a living with the money he had left. Aside from his college tuition fees, Eun-woo needed money to live and eat right away. And his relatives, who had promised to support him at the funeral, avoided him like the plague when Eun-woo said he was an omega.

The money Shi-hyuk was offering him was enough for Eun-woo to live his future life without worries. If he could get into the university he wanted so much and could graduate and get a stable job, even as an omega, he would be able to live a normal life.

"....."

Throwing away his hesitancy, Eun-woo nodded slowly. Then, Shi-hyuk's face, which had remained unaltered, showed a slight change. It changed into the face of a predator, satisfied after getting his stomach full.

It was only then that Shi-hyuk's eyes properly surveyed Eun-woo. Appearance was not that important to him. Because this omega only had to take his seed and give birth to his child. But when he saw Eun-woo's skinny body, which was clearly visible under his pajamas, he frowned a little.

I should make him gain some weight first. He won't even be able to have a baby with such a weak body.

Shi-hyuk thought while looking at the omega who would give birth to his child and then he stood up without saying a word. After seeing Shi-hyuk abruptly getting up and leaving the room, Eun-woo heaved a small sigh.

He still had no idea if this had been a good decision. Would he not regret this later on? No. He was sure he would regret it.

Unable to take away his chaotic thoughts, Eun-woo bit his lips. The only thing he wanted was to have an ordinary life, but life never went the way he wanted.

A dark shadow loomed over Eun-woo's face as he looked down at his own hands.

After leaving the room, Shi-hyuk found Sung-hyun standing in front of the door like a stone. He fixed his cold eyes on him for a brief moment and then he ordered him.

"I'm done with the talking, so make him sign the contract."

"Yes."

Shi-hyuk started walking again when suddenly, as if he had just recalled it, he turned his head back. He spat a few words to the nervous-looking Sung-hyun.

"And do feed him something to make him gain some weight."

"Ahh, yes."

Sung-hyun then bowed to Shi-hyuk, who walked away without any hesitation this time.

After some time, he raised his head and sighed softly, giving a quiet knock on the door. There was no answer back, but Sung-hyun opened the door and entered, approaching Eun-woo, who stood there with his head down.

"...Eun-woo?"

"Ah...! Yes..."

Eun-woo was wiggling his fingers with his eyes cast downward when he raised his head in surprise. He was lost in thought, but before he knew it, Seong-hyeon had come in.

Sung-hyun smiled awkwardly and sat in front of Eun-woo. He didn't know what Shi-hyuk had said to him, but Eun-woo looked quite bad.

"So... you heard everything from Vice President Kang, right?"

"Is he the one from a while ago?"

"Ah, yes. He's the Vice President, Kang Shi-hyuk."

"Kang Shi-hyuk..."

Eun-woo murmured his name as he heard it for the first time. Somehow he thought it was a name that fit his aura well.

"For your information, I'm Cha Sung-hyun, the Vice President's secretary. Haha."

"Yes."

He laughed, trying to lighten the awkward atmosphere, but it didn't work out. On the contrary, it got even heavier and Sung-hyun gave a small cough. How could he get his signature in this atmosphere? Sung-hyun felt like crying, but he firmly carried on.

"The vice president is the executive of a conglomerate that's so famous that only by hearing its name you'd know about it and... should I call it a royal family? Well, though that's the reason why he got promoted fast, since he's good at work, no one dares to talk behind his back and..."

"Excuse me..."

"Oh, yes. Do you have any questions?"

Sung-hyun's eyes sparkled, expecting Eun-woo to ask him questions. If he knew the answer, he was fully prepared to tell him everything he knew about it. The question that came out of Eun-woo's mouth, however, shut Sung-hyun's mouth down in an instant.

"....."

"What should I do now?"

Contrary to Sung-hyun's thoughts, Eun-woo wasn't curious about what kind of person Shi-hyuk was. He just wanted to deal with this contract as soon as possible and become free.

Realizing that, Sung-hyun let out a little sigh. Then, he took out a white paper from his bag.

"First, could you sign here?"

Eun-woo picked up the paper and ran his eyes through it. It was a contract. All the things that Shi-hyuk had said were arranged and listed in the form of a document. After reading it for a while, Eun-woo looked at the last part – the part where he had to sign.

Sung-hyun tactfully handed him over the pen. Eun-woo's hand, which was over the place where he had to sign, trembled a little. But before long, the tremor stopped, and Eun-woo calmly wrote down his name.

Lee Eun Woo. Eun-woo wrote these three words and handed it back to Sung-hyun.

Sung-hyun received the contract, and after putting it back in his bag, he looked at Eun-woo again. Struggling to make a brighter face, he asked Eun-woo.

"Eun-woo. Do you have any favorite food?"

"Sorry?"

"Because I think the most pressing matter right now is for you to recover yourself. Wouldn't you need to eat something at least to become healthier?"

"Ah..."

But then Eun-woo was lost in thought. He was not a picky eater so he ate everything well. It's just that there were a lot of times when he couldn't eat well...

Anyway, Eun-woo started pondering. He felt as if he couldn't remember it even more because he had asked him that all of a sudden. Sung-hyun saw he was seriously pondering about it for no reason, and asked while looking at him.

"You like chicken, don't you?"

"What? Oh, yes."

There was no one who dared to not like the "almighty" chicken. Sung-hyun grinned and told him.

"It's not such a good food for a patient, but how about chicken?"

"Okay."

Looking at Eun-woo nodding his head, Sung-hyun looked satisfied. Eun-Woo will feel better if he eats something delicious. And I should also accompany him home later on.

Making plans for the rest of the day, Sung-hyun quickly called the chicken restaurant.
