Chapter 3

Pei Xiao asked anxiously: “I, I don’t know? Who can I offend?”

Pei Xiao quickly recalled several of his enemies in his heart. He couldn’t recall anything and he was walking on thin ice. He knows that he used to make enemies in the past but he already retired from the circle two years ago.

Pei Xiao was very reluctant to consider the possibility of Chi Yao being involved. But then again, it has to be considered.

It’s too much of a coincidence but Chi Yao’s possibility is too high.

When he thought about it, the biggest mistake that he had ever made was accidentally taking Chi Yao’s virginity.

Pei Xiao has a wide network of contacts. So, he went to ask around and was told that a big sponsor of the TV station ordered them that they are not allowed to appear in the show.

The sponsors are all known in public so it is not difficult to find out. As soon as he checked, he found out that it was the company of the Chi family.

Most likely it was Chi Yao who did it. He had done that before and now he still continues to block him.

Pei Xiao put the phone down and lowered his head to see the baby nestled in his arms. The two small hands clutching the clothes to his chest tightly, soft like a cloud with a sweet smell of milk.

The baby sleeps very soundly with a pacifier in his mouth.

Pei Xiao smiled for a while, feeling much happier. He couldn’t help but smile as he pokes his baby’s cotton candy-like soft chubby cheeks.

The baby suddenly woke up because of his father. He yawned, blinked his eyes, and grinned in confusion. His eyelashes were long and thick and his eyes were dark and big. So, when he looked at him with a smile, his eyes looked like he was carrying a handful of shiny stardust. He lay there, with his little feet crossed like an overturned baby turtle.

Pei Xiao put him in the cradle bed but the baby wobbly stood up while holding onto the wooden fence. He’s gobbling his little hand while looking at his father. Pei Xiao picked up the bottle and the baby chuckled knowing that his father was going to make something tasty for him. His little hands holding the fence with his little butt as he squats. He was so happy that he tried to jump, but he was too young to be able to jump up.

Let’s set aside the problem first and feed the baby.

Pei Xiao brewed a bottle of milk and picked up the baby. The baby leaned in his father’s arms, he couldn’t wait to drink the milk so he held the bottle with his little hands. He drank “tons and tons and tons” as if there was no milk left to drink. He was so happy. His pair of black grape-like eyes full of clear amusement, Pei Xiao hugged him.

Pei Xiao felt healed as he looked at the white and chubby little face because thinking of Chi Yao made him feel irritated.

Pei Xiao walked to Xiao Cui and asked, “You came back so late last night, aren’t you tired?”

Xiao Cui was full of spirits and said with a smile, “I’m not tired.”

Pei Xiao is a little envious, being young is really good because staying up all night is not a problem. Xiao Cui is the face of their group. After Pei Xiao finished eating, he looked for an empty room and closed the door. He took out his cellphone and there he can see Chi Yao’s contact information that is saved in his address book.

Although he changed his number, he still kept the cellphone number that Chi Yao used to contact him two years ago.

Pei Xiao took a deep breath and dialed the number.

Not long after someone answered the phone, he heard Chi Yao’s impatient voice: “Don’t call me while I am working. Call me again in an hour.”

Before Pei Xiao could say a word, Chi Yao hung up: “…..”

Pei Xiao was so angry that he almost crushed the phone.

He waited patiently for an hour and dialed again.

As if Chi Yao knew who he was, Chi Yao asked straightforwardly, “What do you want from me?”
