Chapter 14.2

The next day, Boss Wang did introduce some side jobs for Jiang Yishan. On the day of the job, a leak of wind [1] was inevitable. A bunch of paparazzi rushed over when they smelled the incentive that came with the performance, and the activity was stopped halfway. If Boss Wang hadn’t arrange a driver for Jiang Yishan that day, he wouldn’t have been able to leave.

Jiang Yishan sat in Boss Wang’s office as he browse through Weibo, looking at the posts that mentioned where he worked today and what he did. There was an overwhelming amount [2] of swearing.

When Boss Wang came in, he saw Jiang Yishan throw his phone on the table with his head down. He said, “Xiao Jiang, it’s now that I won’t help you, but the way things are right now for you, I won’t be able to find another job for you.”

Jiang Yishan clenched his fist tightly. “I see. Thank you, Brother Wang.”

After speaking, he got up and left.

“Don’t be so quick.” Boss Wang stopped him. “What I told you last time… Xiao Jiang, have you considered it? If you agree, you won’t have to worry about food and clothing for the rest of your life. You don’t have to be so stubborn.”

Jiang Yishan’s expression was slightly loose, but still he said, “Forget it, Brother Wang. I can’t do it.”

Boss Wang sneered. “How can you say you can’t do it when you even gave Qin Shaocheng your ass in the car?”

Jiang Yishan’s face changed drastically, the blood drained out of him. “What do you mean?”

“Don’t panic. It’s just that before, I dispatched some people to track Qin Shaocheng’s schedule. They didn’t bring a camera though.”

Boss Wang lit a cigarette and gave Jiang Yishan a piece. “If I had a picture, would I still be looking for you now? It’s over if I directly let the photo explode.”

Jiang Yishan accepted the cigarette, but he didn’t smoke.

“I won’t hide it from you.” As Boss Wang said this, he took out his tablet and opened a webpage. The page showed some of the changes in the Qin family’s internal equity.

Jiang Yishan glanced at him and said impatiently, “I don’t understand these, just say what you want to say.”

Boss Wang thought Jiang Yishan would be as impetuous and angry as before. Boss Wang doubted he was able to keep calm. But with how Jiang Yishan acted right now, he was a little more certain. He said, “Actually, it’s very simple. Since you don’t want to listen to the intermediary thing, let’s talk about what else we could do. As long as Qin Shaocheng’s reputation is ruined, we can get some money.”

“How do we smear his reputation?”

Boss Wang laughed and said nothing. “Xiao Jiang, everyone has done it. Have you forgotten what you did to Lu Yicheng?”

Jiang Yishan gave Boss Wang a deadly stare.

“We did it together, and you clearly know that the method is nothing more than taking pictures of them taking drugs.” Boss Wang spoke as a matter-of-factly.

Jiang Yishan followed closely and said: “I was just taking pictures; I didn’t agree to the drugs.”

“Yes, that meal of sixes and sevens [3] could’ve been photographed without the drugs. But you… Wherever young master Qin won’t go, you’ve been there. And you’ve seen the people whom young master Qin won’t see. Say, if everybody knew that you and Qin Shaocheng were on the same boat…”

“You want to sell me out! You want me to completely fall from grace!” Jiang Yishan glared at Boss Wang. “Wang Deshun, don’t think you can just pick it clean!”

“I didn’t say I wanted to pick it up clean.” Boss Wang patted Jiang Yishan’s shoulder. “Why can’t you understand what I mean? Think about it. When you sell yourself miserably in front of the camera, can’t you just say that it was Qin Shaocheng who made you do it? When the Qin family falls, are you afraid it won’t wash white? That, by that time, what was black cannot ever be washed white?” Boss Wang said slowly. “Once everything is done and we get countless of money, you can be a big star again after you are washed white.”

Jiang Yishan seemed to have been poked at a certain point, and the whole person shook a bit.

Wang Deshun thought that this matter was settled, and finally reassured Jiang Yishan: “First, let’s get to the bottom of things. Zhang family’s backing is in the capital. You and Qin Shaocheng had been together for so long, I believe you don’t know nothing about the Zhang clan ba.”

Jiang Yishan’s eyes turned so fast that Wang Deshun didn’t have to remind him. Sure enough, Jiang Yishan only hesitated for a while before he asked: “How confident are you that you’ll succeed?”

Wang Deshun smiled. “If I wasn’t sure, would I have told you about the Zhang family?”

“How do I know if it’s true?”

“How do you know I won’t talk to Qin Shaocheng?”

“Ha ha, if the Qin family cared about you, Qin Shaocheng would’ve brought you with him when he left.” Wang Deshun laughed heartily. “They’ve already abandoned you. If you go ahead and tell them, they will just completely blacken you and then dispose of you cleanly. If you don’t believe me, then you can have a handle on all the things you do. You can’t tell the truth about the matter of Lu Yicheng being deceived during the dinner with Zhou [4] Zheng anyway. The Qin family can’t protect you. The corner of Jiang Yishan’s mouth twitched. “He won’t”

“He certainly won’t, neither will the Qin family. The situation would only get worse if you go to them. Are you going to be a maggot in a stinky ditch that won’t be held up by others all your life, or would you turn around and fight against others?” Wang Deshun added, “Think about it. What resources did you get before you revealed the photos? And now? Only side jobs. Jiang Yishan, you have to be flexible.”

Jiang Yishan’s fingertips were shaking, and he let out a breath.

“Xiao Jiang, you didn’t know what to do when you first offended the boss. What did you do later? You became meek and subservient.” Wang Deshun narrowed his eyes. “I heard you apologize to Qin Shaocheng for breaking up with him. You went down on your knees, I admire you. On the bright side, you were able to bear hardships. After all these, what are you afraid of?”

Jiang Yishan, with an indescribable expression, said. “I… Let’s talk about the money first.”

Wang Deshun laughed so much that he could hardly hold the folds on his face. He knew Jiang Yishan was a man who made both profits and money. In this circle, he was known for coveting vanity and being short-sighted. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have reached this point.
