Wang Jing was an orphan who, in his thirties, died in a rented apartment because he couldn't afford cancer treatment.

However, just before he died, Wang Lei's soul traveled through time, reincarnating into a baby. Reborn as Wang Jing, he found himself still an orphan, but determined to make a name for himself in this life and not live a life of poverty like in his previous one.

Of course, Wang Jing had fantasized about having a system to help him reach the pinnacle of life, but even after graduating from university, he never received the legendary system.

Despite not having a system, Wang Jing's life was very happy and fulfilling. After being reborn, he was the top student in his grade during elementary school. Through relentless effort, he successfully enrolled in university and became the kind of child other parents wished for.

Wang Jing had planned to continue his studies and pursue a Ph.D., but his limited intelligence ultimately stopped him at the university level.

The world he was in was completely different from his original world, with a different history and many different classic films and literary works.

The country where Wang Jing lived was the most powerful on the planet, and because of its strength, the social welfare was excellent, with no living pressure. People worked when they needed to and played to their heart's content when they had free time.

Wang Jing had planned to live out his life this way, but on a stormy night, while playing a game, he was struck by lightning.

Wang Jing felt a flash before his eyes and found himself in a messy room with various posters and photos on the walls, as well as some design drawings that seemed familiar to him.

When he saw one of the posters, Wang Lei's eyes widened. The poster read, "The Wandering Earth Plan: Join the United Government Army to help Earth reach humanity's new home!"

Suddenly, memories from his previous life flooded back. Wang Jing looked at the heavy industrial vehicle driving certification hanging on the wall and the photos in the middle.

A movie, "The Wandering Earth," immediately came to mind in Wang Lei's mind.

Wang Jing suddenly felt an urge to cry, knowing that millions had died in "The Wandering Earth," especially when Earth was captured by Jupiter's gravity, with a 50% chance of death for those in the underground cities.

At that moment, Wang Lei saw a letter Liu Qi had written to his grandfather on the table. As Wang Jing was thinking about when the first earthquake would occur, the door suddenly opened, interrupting his thoughts.

Turning around, he saw that it was Liu Qi's grandfather who had returned.

Just as Wang Jing was at a loss, the grandfather was startled to see him.

"Who are you! How did you get in here?"

"Um! I came to find Liu Qi. When I arrived, he was just about to run away. Look, he even wrote a letter." Wang Lei handed the letter on the table to the grandfather.

Reading the letter, the grandfather immediately became furious and worried, scolding, "This little brat!"

"That's not right. If you came to find Liu Qi, why are you here?" the grandfather asked warily.

"I was just worried and wanted to tell you where Liu Qi went as soon as you returned!" Wang Jing explained with a smile.

"Oh!" The grandfather nodded and then suddenly ran out of the room, locking the door behind him.

Wang Lei was then taken to the police station.

"I'm really not a thief, you have to believe me, Uncle Policeman!" Wang Jing, handcuffed, tried to defend himself.

"We will naturally investigate whether you were wronged, but first, we need to figure out why there is no record of you in the population database." The guard then pushed Wang Jing into a cell and removed his handcuffs.

Watching the guard's back as he walked away, Wang Jing really wanted to die. They must have mistaken him for a member of the resistance.

But that wasn't the worst part. Unless he had a protagonist's aura, he would definitely die when the earthquake hit.

As Wang Jing anxiously waited, the earthquake arrived as expected. He felt the entire jail shaking, with dust falling first, followed by cracks appearing in the walls and debris and bricks falling from the ceiling.

Wang Jing clung to the bars, shouting for help at the top of his lungs.

Wang Lei saw a guard running towards him with a key, but the next moment, a falling stone from the ceiling knocked the guard to the ground.

The glimmer of hope was extinguished, and Wang Jing, in despair, pounded on the iron door, his cries mingling with the sounds of the collapsing world, a sight that would move anyone.

But the next moment, the iron door blocking his path collapsed in the shaking, and Wang Jing's cries stopped. The spark of hope reignited.

Overjoyed, Wang Jing immediately rushed out, running in the direction he had come from, but the next moment, a broken cable swung towards him.

Wang Jing tried to dodge, but his body couldn't react in time. He cursed in his heart, and the sparking cable landed on him.

Wang Jing, eyes closed, waited for death, but after a while, he realized his body was still intact, and the sounds of the earthquake had stopped. He cautiously opened his eyes and found himself back in the rented apartment, his legs giving out as he collapsed to the ground.

After a while, when his heart calmed down, the pain in his forehead finally registered in his brain.

He gently touched the painful spot, opened his palm, and saw a trace of blood on his fingertip.

Supporting his still weak legs, he found a first-aid kit, cleaned the wound with iodine in front of the bathroom mirror, and bandaged it with gauze.

After treating the wound, Wang Jing sat in front of the computer, which had been damaged by the lightning, recalling everything that had just happened. It felt like a dream, but the lingering pain in his forehead reminded him that it was all real.

As he was thinking, his stomach growled. Coming back to his senses, Wang Jing got up and made himself a bowl of instant noodles.

While waiting for the noodles to soften, he heard a knock at the door. Opening it, he saw two men in black standing there.

"Who are you looking for?"

"Is this Mr. Wang Jing's residence?" one of the men in black asked.

"What do you want with Wang Jing?" Wang Jing asked warily.

One of the men in black showed a document with the United Nations seal and said, "Mr. Wang Jing, please come with us. We need to understand the details of that world."

"What world? What are you talking about?" Wang Jing asked, feigning calmness.

The two men in black exchanged glances, and one of them took out a phone. The screen showed Wang Jing in the prison in the "Wandering Earth" world.

"Mr. Wang Jing, the whole world knows you have traveled to another world. There's no need to deny it. We have no ill intentions; we just need to ask you some important questions," the man in black said.
