After Liu Yong fired that shot last night, many people heard it. Many would push open their windows or even come out to see what had happened. With a large number of police rushing to the villa to arrest Ye Feng, the impact was significant. Ye Feng believed that his coworkers would definitely know he had been arrested.

Ye Feng was confident that he had a very good relationship with his coworkers, so he was sure they would try to come to the police station to find him. If they couldn't get in, they might seek help from the media. After all, there were many news reports on TV, and the best way to create a big impact or seek social support was to seek help from the media.

What moved and delighted Ye Feng was that not long after he was brought into the interrogation room, before the police had a chance to interrogate him again, his coworkers arrived.

They didn't seek help from the media, but they knew how to create a stir. From a police officer who rushed into the interrogation room with a somewhat nervous expression, Ye Feng learned that his coworkers strongly demanded to see him. If the police refused, they would go to the newspaper office, TV station, and journalists. If they couldn't see him, they would block the entrance of the police station and refuse to leave.

In the end, the police compromised, but on the condition that only one coworker could come in to see Ye Feng.

With Ye Feng's limited knowledge of criminal law, he knew that during the investigation and interrogation phase, no one was allowed to meet the suspect to prevent collusion. Therefore, even if his coworkers sought help from the media, it probably wouldn't work. However, Ye Feng guessed that the police agreed to this "unreasonable" request because Liu Yong used his power to give him a green light.

Because apart from Liu Yong, no other police officer would pay such close attention to everything related to him.

Why Liu Yong did this, Ye Feng couldn't understand, as he wasn't Liu Yong. If Liu Yong's agreement to let his coworkers see him, which violated legal procedures, were exposed, he might have to take responsibility. Ye Feng guessed that Liu Yong might be certain that he was doomed and would die, so perhaps it was out of pity, or to seek some moral balance in the heinous act of framing and falsely accusing him, or for some other reason he didn't know.

Since being arrested and taken to the police station, Liu Yong had never shown himself to Ye Feng. Ye Feng felt that Liu Yong wasn't too proud to see him but was afraid to see him.

Liu Yong, after all, was a human. After committing such a heinous and immoral act, whether his conscience and morality would condemn him, Ye Feng didn't know. But Ye Feng was sure that Liu Yong wouldn't feel at ease. Perhaps to ease his conscience a little, Liu Yong gave this "doomed" person a chance.

Similarly, Ye Feng understood that Liu Yong had ordered people to beat him, to subject him to severe interrogation, to make him confess under duress, to make him mentally collapse, all to make him confess quickly, to be sentenced early, and to be executed as soon as possible. The sooner he died, the more at ease Liu Yong would feel.

In fact, this was a sign of Liu Yong's extreme guilt.

Regardless, Ye Feng finally met his coworker.

This coworker wasn't from Ye Feng's hometown, but he was also from Ji Province and had the best relationship with Ye Feng.

His name was Liu Tiezhu, and Ye Feng and his coworkers usually called him Tiezhu. He was two years older than Ye Feng and was already the father of two children around eight or nine years old. The reason he had the best relationship with Ye Feng was that he was very eager to learn. After hearing that Ye Feng had almost become a student at a prestigious university, he often found Ye Feng after work and asked him to teach him some basic knowledge, such as Chinese, math, science, and geography. He couldn't learn anything too complex; primary school level was enough.

Ye Feng once asked him, "Tiezhu, why are you so eager to learn? What's the point at your age?"

He smiled and replied, "I want to learn more so that my children won't look down on me, and I won't embarrass myself in front of them. Every time I go home for the New Year, my children bring books to ask me questions, but I can't answer any of them. I don't know how to read or write much. Later, they stopped asking me. I'm not afraid of others laughing at me, but I'm afraid of my children laughing at me."

From then on, whenever Tiezhu asked, Ye Feng would teach him seriously, no matter how slowly he learned. Ye Feng would never mock him.

Seeing Tiezhu, with the police watching, Ye Feng spoke in their hometown dialect: "Tiezhu, I've been framed. Find someone to write a legal complaint for me and entrust this matter to him. If it costs money, you can pay for it first."

Tiezhu was from Ji Province and often spent time with Ye Feng, so he understood Ye Feng's dialect.

Ye Feng wasn't sure if the police could understand the dialect, but at least it would make it harder for them to understand.

Tiezhu's eyes turned red, and he nodded vigorously, saying, "Okay, don't worry, brother. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

Ye Feng thought for a moment and said, "Tell the coworkers not to inform my family about this." Ye Feng understood that the police would eventually notify his boss at the construction site and his family, even if Liu Yong interfered now. But he still didn't want his parents to know about this in advance.

For Ye Feng, the later his parents found out about this, the better, so they would suffer less.

Tiezhu nodded again, looked at Ye Feng, and tears finally streamed down his face.

Ye Feng gripped his hand and smiled, "It's okay, don't worry about me. Go back and tell everyone not to come here anymore; it will only cause more trouble."

Tiezhu firmly gripped Ye Feng's hand, glanced at the police, wiped his tears, and said, "Brother, I and the other coworkers all believe in you. You're not that kind of person."

After saying this, Tiezhu left.

A warm current suddenly surged in Ye Feng's heart. Besides his parents and family, these coworkers who had shared hardships with him for many years were his greatest source of spiritual strength and support.

Perhaps because of the commotion caused by Tiezhu and the others, the police didn't continue to "interrogate" Ye Feng but instead sent him back to the temporary detention room in the police station and gave him two steamed buns and a bowl of cold porridge.

For the rest of the day, except for delivering a cold meal to Ye Feng in the evening, the police didn't enter the detention room again. Ye Feng was glad for the peace and took the opportunity to collect souls.

However, by the morning of the next day, Ye Feng had only collected six souls, bringing the total to eleven.

After two sleepless nights and maintaining high concentration to collect souls, even with his body's strength far exceeding that of an ordinary person after physical training, Ye Feng felt tired and exhausted.

Just as Ye Feng was about to close his eyes to rest, the police officer who had kicked and beaten him before came again. He tightly handcuffed and shackled Ye Feng, then punched him hard in the chest, cursing, "Damn you, you're really capable, huh? Someone even hired a lawyer for you, and a famous female lawyer at that. Damn, let me tell you, even with a lawyer, you're still dead. Whether it's sooner or later, you're done for, so don't have any illusions."

Ye Feng ignored him. In his heart, besides Liu Yong and Liu Meimei, this police officer had become his third target for revenge. Using his words, he would definitely take revenge on these three people, sooner or later.

The police officer took Ye Feng to a room that looked like a reception room and left, giving Ye Feng a fierce glare before he went.

There were only two people in the room: a young woman and a middle-aged man.

The young woman looked to be around 27 or 28 years old, very beautiful, with a slender figure and an elegant demeanor. In every aspect, she was several levels above Liu Meimei.

The middle-aged man wore square glasses and held a black briefcase, standing behind the woman with a serious expression, not saying a word.

The woman looked at Ye Feng, smiled, and said, "You must be Ye Feng. Please sit down."

Her voice was very pleasant, not high-pitched, and not fast, giving a gentle feeling.

After the incident with Liu Meimei, Ye Feng had a deep aversion to women, especially beautiful women, and wouldn't be as nervous and timid as when he first met Liu Meimei. Moreover, the pain and suffering from being framed and the experiences in the Nine Star Pearl space had matured his mind significantly in just over two days. Facing this exceptionally beautiful lawyer, besides a moment of admiration, his mindset had become very calm.

Ye Feng sat down on the stool in front of the long table, facing the woman. He looked directly into her eyes and waited for her to speak first.
