Red Asura and her group walked toward the training ground from a distance.
The low shout of "Second Chief is here" startled the captains gathered in the center of the mountain hollow. They all stood up in pleasant surprise, exchanged fervent glances, nodded secretly, and hurriedly converged toward Red Asura and her group.
The captains should greet the Second Chief and report on the training progress.
It was rare to have a chance to approach the chief who managed over two thousand people. Today's opportunity was truly precious.
The captains' faces were filled with urgency and anxiety, and their steps quickened.
Zhou Lu, who was at the back, became anxious: Damn it, Wild Bear got ahead of me. What should I do to get close and say a few words to show my closeness?
Red Asura stood there, her long, arched eyebrows raised in satisfaction as she glanced at the captains. She lowered her head and said something to a guard beside her. The guard stepped forward and approached the captains, announcing loudly:
"Second Chief said she has no important matters. She's just taking a casual look around. You don't need to come and report. Go back and continue your training. Remember the quotas you have."
The guard was reminding the captains that they still had a goal to train at least half of their quota to death.
The esteemed Second Chief, Red Asura, was too high-ranking to bother with the small captains responsible for training the new bandits. She only sent a guard to relay the message.
"Do we not need to go over?"
The captains exchanged bewildered glances, feeling both lost and infinitely disappointed.
How long had it been since the Second Chief last came to the New Bandit Valley? Was today's opportunity going to be missed again?
"No."
Wild Bear's eyes turned cold as he glanced toward the distant mountain hollow. Red Asura's large group of guards was still at the entrance, dealing with the mountain guards, about two miles away. In the critical moment, they couldn't arrive in time. Only six or seven guards were with the Second Chief. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and whether they could seize it depended on this one move.
They had waited for this opportunity for too long.
Wild Bear clenched his fists tightly, his eyes narrowing with a murderous rage that seemed to solidify in his gaze.
"Go."
Wild Bear nodded forcefully at the captains. Their faces were filled with determined killing intent, and their steps quickened even more as they viciously surrounded and converged on Red Asura.
"Hmm?"
The guard in front immediately sensed something was wrong. His eyebrows shot up as he shouted, "Second Chief has ordered you to step back!"
"Step back your mother!"
Wild Bear suddenly roared, sprinted forward, and raised his bone spear menacingly. A gust of wind and a streak of white light, and in a few steps, he was in front of the guard, preparing to break through and approach Red Asura.
"Rebellion?"
The guard's face changed instantly. He never expected such a thing to happen in the heart of Black Whisker Mountain. He shivered and shouted, drawing his hunting knife and blocking Wild Bear's path without retreating.
Wild Bear was too fast, reaching the guard in just a few steps. They clashed fiercely, with the sound of blades and spears and dust rising in an instant, the air filled with murderous intent.
The bandits nearby were all stunned.
"Heaven."
The thin bandit beside Zhou Lu was almost frightened to death. The captain and the Second Chief's personal guard were fighting? This was a high-level conflict in Black Whisker Mountain. If this news spread, it would shock the entire region. He never thought he would witness it today.
Would the conflict between the big shots affect them? Would Red Asura, in her rage, order the execution of all the new bandits?
Given Red Asura's ruthlessness, it was not impossible. The new bandits were all trembling in fear. The thin bandit wished he could find a hole to hide in.
Seeing the distant fight, Zhou Lu was also stunned. The wild bear wasn't interested in the woman; he wanted to kill her. This made Zhou Lu's previous dirty thoughts seem inadequate.
Zhou Lu now understood why the wild bear had been distracted when the red-clothed female chief appeared. He had been planning this major conflict all along. Zhou Lu couldn't help but admire the captains' resolve.
"These idiots are even more ruthless than I am."
As Wild Bear fought fiercely, the surrounding captains all went red-eyed, rushing forward silently with their weapons drawn, surrounding Red Asura and her group from all sides.
Red Asura's personal guards were both anxious and angry. An attack on the Second Chief in the heart of Black Whisker Mountain? These people were risking their lives. The guards let out fierce whistles to alert others and drew their knives to block the captains' vicious attacks.
The two groups clashed like colliding volcanoes, the mountain hollow echoing with the sounds of battle.
No one expected that the captains were actually spies who had infiltrated Black Whisker Mountain, carefully planning and waiting for the opportunity to ambush Red Asura when she came to the New Bandit Valley.
As for the reason, it was probably unnecessary to explain. Red Asura had killed too many people over the years, making countless enemies. These captains were likely survivors from other bandit camps or leaders from multiple destroyed camps who had banded together.
To become special training captains in the New Bandit Valley, these people had long-standing positions in Black Whisker Mountain. They had probably been planning this for a long time.
Today, they finally gathered and caught Red Asura alone, seizing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Now, these fierce captains were fighting with all their might, each one determined to kill or be killed. They had long given up on their lives, using every move to ensure Red Asura's death before they died.
"Whoosh."
A dark black flash shot out. The guard fighting Wild Bear's hunting knife was deflected by a sudden thrust, and the captain's bone dagger took advantage of the opening, piercing the guard's chest, the handle buried deep.
The guard fell backward.
One of Red Asura's guards was dead, and the remaining guards became even more panicked.
Wild Bear roared fiercely, charging into the circle like a bull in heat, heading straight for the isolated Red Asura.
He had waited for this day for so many years. Today, the opportunity had finally come. Wild Bear was trembling with tension, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at the woman in the distance.
Red Asura's expression changed.
The sudden turn of events caught her off guard. The captains were all strong and well-prepared, and she had brought too few guards. Her side was clearly at a disadvantage and might not hold out until reinforcements arrived.
Red Asura looked around anxiously, seeking an opportunity to escape, but the captains had clearly planned the terrain. People surrounded her from all sides, making it difficult to find a way out.
Red Asura broke out in a cold sweat.
Wild Bear's towering figure seemed to block out the sky, like a mountain wall collapsing down. His reckless and fierce attack made everyone tremble with fear.
A guard quickly stepped forward, drawing his knife to face the bloodthirsty Wild Bear, protecting Red Asura from behind. Red Asura, frightened by Wild Bear's ferocity, her face pale, drew her knife and took three large steps back.
It was too dangerous. Fortunately, the guard could still spare a moment to help.
Just as Red Asura was about to catch her breath, a rope suddenly sprang out from the ground, binding her upper body tightly.
The rope was one of the traps set by the captains.
Red Asura was bound like a mummy, her body even more alluring. The female chief was both panicked and miserable, her knife clattering to the ground.
