Chapter 42: Secret Scroll Enhancement (1)

My name is Mo Qing, and from today, I will teach you about the Blood Path. If you thought you were here to learn a simple Pointing Acupoint Technique, you are mistaken!

The first instructor I met had a very angry expression. He seemed to have an impatient personality, as he began teaching immediately after sitting down.

He talked for a long time about how important the Pointing Acupoint Technique was, then handed me three books.

As soon as I took it, the contents naturally sank into my mind, and I mastered it in one go.

Perhaps because of this.

- The source of the demonic energy we use is also influenced by the acupoints. The Lower Dantian is the Conception Vessel in the meridian system, but in the acupuncture system, it is called the Sea of Qi. Do you know why it is called the Sea of Qi?

To his question.

"It is called the Sea of Qi because it is like a sea of innate energy. That's why the Twelve Regular Meridians have their origin in the Dantian."

I answered simply.

But did my easy answer irritate Mo Qing?

Suddenly, he laughed mockingly and asked another question.

- What do you know to answer like that? A kid who doesn't even know the exact location of the Sea of Qi point.

In most ordinary martial arts books, the Dantian is located about one to one and a half finger widths below the navel.

However, Shuhui immediately understood the intention behind his question.

A much more precise meaning. It was also a request to explain it in terms of acupoints.

"The Dantian is the midpoint between the Sea of Qi point and the Guanyuan point, connected to the Mingmen point, which is directly opposite the Conception Vessel. Draw a diagonal line to the Chong Vessel and the Dai Vessel on either side, and the intersection of the front dotted line is the Dantian."

Mo Qing, who had been listening with a 'That's right' expression, suddenly stiffened.

"One, the circulation of innate energy revolves around the Dantian area. It is not only at the Conception Vessel but also at the intersection of the Chong Vessel and the Dai Vessel. This is important because, as you continue to accumulate inner energy in the Dantian, you can eventually open your eyes (achieve enlightenment) at a certain point."

- Oh!

Mahuo covered his mouth.

That was because the reason he asked about the location of the Sea of Qi point was precisely for this.

He wanted to inform that even if one lacks enlightenment or feels a barrier at a certain level, it can be overcome by diligently accumulating inner energy.

- I will start the lesson. Open the first page.

His face turned red as he picked up the book, and time sped up again after that.

However.

As the view brightened, Shuhui found himself back in the room.

He slowly raised his head to check the time.

In just one day, he had mastered the basics of the Understanding of the Blood Path.

"What should I do next?"

Shuhui looked around and stood in front of the door.

As expected, the text appeared, and as soon as he chose, time passed.

The date and Mo Qing's face appeared at the top.

- Take this. Today, I will teach you about the techniques.

- Did you really read all that?

- How... How can your knowledge of the acupoint locations and the techniques be so perfect?

Time did not stop.

He had completed the intermediate level in just one day.

- You wouldn't have known this. It is one of the extreme acupoint striking techniques that can cause fatal injuries to the five organs and six腑 (fu) organs.

- You knew all of this!

- You! Are you mocking me! Get out of here!

Shuhui was immediately expelled.

In just three days, he had completed all the Understanding of the Blood Path training.

* * *

Shuhui decided to learn the tracking techniques that every Yin Ying member must know.

▶ Theory of Tracking <Beginner>

This time, he chose tracking and moved back to the Xuanwu Pavilion.

An old man with a pockmarked face and a tall, lanky build walked over from a distance.

He stroked his long beard and spoke sternly to Shuhui.

- My name is Yan Hui. From now on, I will be your instructor. Our main school has many incidents and entanglements. This is not limited to the Demon Sect. In the martial world, people often kill each other due to grudges. Therefore...

In a solemn atmosphere, he continued speaking.

- Whenever a conflict arises, it is necessary to track or isolate someone. Our tracking technique is specialized for this. Take this first.

He handed over six books.

As soon as Shuhui took the secret scrolls, numerous sentences began to imprint in his mind.

- I will give you four days, or rather, five days. Skim through the content, memorize the important parts, and come back. I don't want to talk to someone who knows nothing.

"Let's do it now."

Shuhui answered casually.

Since he had already memorized everything, there was no need to drag it out.

- What, such arrogance! I thought I would treat you well since you were brought by Kunma...

His brows furrowed, and his eyes turned fiery.

- Fine. Let me ask you. What are the key elements of observation in tracking?

This guy also has a temper.

So what? I can answer anything he asks.

"Earth, grass, branches, and animals."

- Why?

"Even dry ground will leave artificial traces. Grass goes without saying. Even if the fugitive uses a superlative lightness technique, they will leave traces unless their inner energy is infinite. Branches will be broken along the path in forests or mountains. Animals instinctively avoid humans and can help predict the direction of movement if they are around."

- If you had to find a fleeing criminal, what would you do first?

"First, I would look at the footprints. The stride and size can help determine if it's a woman or a man. I would also carefully examine the ground, the gaps between branches, and rocks. If there are torn pieces of fabric or threads, I can determine what kind of clothing they were wearing. Next, I would follow the standard procedure to draw a facial composite based on witness statements."

- If a corpse has a bruised and swollen area on the back of the ribs with the skin peeled off, how did they die?

Cunning old man.

The Tracking Step Technique is a six-volume set.

The last page of the fifth volume contained a tiny script about autopsy.

"If the bruised and swollen area feels damaged when touched, it indicates death from a sudden impact on a vital point by a hard object."

- Oh!

A voice of admiration burst out.

It was natural to be surprised.

He wouldn't think that Shuhui had read the extensive autopsy notes attached to the end of the fifth volume.

- Follow me. I will show you each step.

That day.

The next day.

He easily mastered the intermediate level.

On the third day.

He thought he had mastered everything, but that wasn't the case.

...

Despite the days passing, he couldn't complete the advanced level.

There was a reason.

He allocated extra time to learn additional useful techniques for tracking.

Thanks to this, he could learn something good.

[Learned the Hundred Li Earth Listening Technique.]

The Hundred Li Earth Listening Technique is a technique known to hear even the smallest sounds from a hundred li away.

However, Shuhui only knew the method and couldn't implement it.

After all, the Hundred Li Earth Listening Technique is a technique that can only be achieved at the peak of mastery.

He spent several days exploring the sense of sound and received guidance multiple times but only managed to hear up to about thirty zhang (90 meters).

[Learned the Night White Eye.]

A technique to see clearly in dark environments.

He practiced it continuously at night, and it took ten days to learn.

[Learned the method to make Scent Dispersing Water.]

A method to erase one's scent.

He learned this quickly.

[Learned the usage of Bone Melting Powder.]

[Received one Bone Melting Powder.]

It wasn't particularly pleasant, but he also obtained Bone Melting Powder.

Although it can completely erase traces when used, is it necessary?

After all, what does it matter how things turn out after death?

On the day before the last day of December.

He learned everything related.

* * *

Shuhui stood in front of the door, checking the date displayed at the top of his vision.

But this time, there was no response.

The usual schedule had disappeared.

"Is it because one day is left?"

He had expected this.

The date floating above his head.

The fixed schedule that appeared at the beginning of the next month was also missing, possibly for the same reason.

"Should I practice?"

Shuhui walked to the window.

He had placed his sword there.

After picking up the sword and about to go outside, Shuhui paused.

He noticed a jade box under the desk.

"What is this?"

It was about two feet long and one foot wide.

It looked like a simple decoration but also seemed extraordinary.

Ultimately, driven by curiosity, Shuhui opened the jade box.

"There's nothing inside."

After confirming the empty space, he closed it again.

However, suddenly, a notification appeared.

"Martial arts combination..."

A new phrase. But it was a phrase he couldn't just ignore.

Feeling a good omen, he accepted, and another message appeared.

"Martial arts scrolls? Which ones?"

Shuhui pondered for a moment after reading the message.

When he closed the jade box, it said to insert martial arts scrolls.

Did that mean he should put martial arts scrolls inside?

"Let me think..."

Shuhui's gaze fell on the writing tools on the desk.

A sudden idea came to him.

He quickly sat at the desk and started grinding ink on the inkstone.

"Let's write down the Xiao Xi Ma Gong."

The martial arts he knew.

He remembered them perfectly in his mind without a single mistake.

Although he wasn't sure if this method would work, he decided to check since the message was so intriguing.

Given the vast amount of content, Shuhui spent the whole day creating the martial arts scrolls.

He made six scrolls: "Xiao Xi Ma Gong," "Xiao Shu Ma Gong," "Yi Yuan Xiao Ma Gong," "Zhi Shu Ma Gong," "Chao Ji Ma Gong," and "Si Da Ji Ma Gong Feng."

"Let's try it."

Click.

He put the six martial arts scrolls into the jade box and closed it.

However.

♠ Five Elements Chart: Wood (木) → Fire (火) → Earth (土) → Metal (金) → Water (水) in sequence (順).

♠ Enhancement: Same property.

"It works!"

Shuhui cheered.

Although the message said it wouldn't work, it was clear that the martial arts scrolls were being created.

'The Five Elements... '

The martial arts that came to mind were Xiao Xi Ma Gong and Xiao Shu Ma Gong. Both were Yin-based martial arts with the Water (水) property.

Click.

Shuhui put the two martial arts scrolls into the jade box and closed it.

"Ha ha ha!"

Shuhui laughed and quickly opened the jade box.

The handwritten martial arts scrolls had disappeared, and a single golden book appeared.

As soon as he picked it up.

[Learned Su Shen Shui Ma Gong (素身秀魔功).]

He realized it was an incredible martial art.

How?

Shuhui [Yin Ying Team Leader (True)]

Health: 170,000/170,000

Inner Energy: 170,000/170,000

Combat Power: 840,000 (↑330,000)

Just by learning it, his combat power had increased dramatically.
