Chapter 6

"Damn it, you bastard, you even dare to seduce decent women, I'll beat you to death!" Gao Jue was the first to step forward, brushing past Zhang Pei, and came to the man, cursing and kicking him fiercely.

Thinking about how Zhang Pei had taken care of him during his second stint in prison, Gao Jue hated this guy who had dragged his old brother into a life sentence to the extreme. He kicked without mercy, aiming to beat him to death. While kicking, he kept cursing, showing no trace of being a government official. The man, kicked to the ground, curled up, holding his head and screaming, begging for mercy.

"Brother, I'm wrong, spare me... I won't do it again..."

Gao Jue's bravery stunned Zhang Pei. "This guy slept with my wife, why do you seem more bitter than me?"

Yan Bing and Cao Shufen had already arrived at the gate. Seeing Gao Jue beating a naked man to death, they were both scared. The little girl Yan Bing even forgot to close her eyes, staring at Gao Jue, hardly believing it was real. Cao Shufen, however, reacted and realized that the man was naked, and Zhang Pei was furious, holding a kitchen knife. She could guess what had happened.

"Brother, let me through, let me chop him up!" Zhang Pei, confused by Gao Jue, hesitated for a moment, then remembered what he should do, and said fiercely, already rushing to the wall, ready to squat down and start cutting.

Gao Jue pulled him back and said, "Brother Zhang, hold on, answer me one question before you start cutting, okay?"

"What question?"

People are like this; if Gao Jue had tried to stop Zhang Pei, Zhang Pei would have swung the knife at him. But now, Gao Jue was helping him beat the man, and kicking hard. In this situation, people subconsciously think of him as one of their own. So, Gao Jue's words were taken seriously by Zhang Pei.

"What do you plan to do after you kill him?" Gao Jue asked.

"I'll go and chop that bitch too!" Zhang Pei shouted.

"After you kill your wife?" Gao Jue continued.

"After I kill her..." Zhang Pei was stunned again. What could he do after killing his wife?

"Brother Zhang, if you kill this pair of adulterers, you'll become a murderer! I can't be sure if you'll be executed, but I can guarantee that once you're in prison, you'll never get out. You have a son, who is only eight years old, in elementary school. If his mother dies and you go to prison, what will he do? An orphan, how pitiful. Have you thought about your son?" Zhang Pei's voice was loud, but Gao Jue's was louder. While talking, Gao Jue's kicks didn't stop, still beating the naked man.

"I..." Zhang Pei was speechless. Yes, killing him would be satisfying, but it would cost his life and his son's life. "Sigh... Brother, you're right, but if I don't kill him, how can I vent my anger!"

"That's easy, beat him up with me. As long as we don't kill him, it's fine! Brother Zhang, is it worth it to ruin your life and your son's life for an unfaithful woman?" Gao Jue said.

"You... you're right..." Zhang Pei hesitated and decided to accept Gao Jue's suggestion. It wasn't worth it to ruin his and his son's lives for a cheap woman.

Together, they kicked the man, making him howl like a wolf.

Gao Jue was right; killing for this reason, even if it's understandable, would still result in a life sentence. But if you beat the adulterer, it's usually fine. If he did, the police, hearing that he was caught in the act and beaten by the husband, would likely say, "You deserve it, why didn't they kill you, you have the nerve to report it!"

Both of them kicked hard, and in no time, the naked man was half-dead. His earlier pig-like screams had become weak. Gao Jue, seeing it was enough, pulled Zhang Pei and said, "Brother Zhang, I think it's enough. Let's call it a day."

"Brother, it's not worth it. Since she's unfaithful, there's no need to keep her around. Just kick her out, divorce her, and let her go with whoever she wants!" Gao Jue said bluntly.

"Alright, let's do it!" Zhang Pei, though a bit reluctant, knew Gao Jue was right. A woman who cheated on him couldn't stay.

Yan Bing was still shocked, still in a daze, not sure what had just happened. Cao Shufen, with her rich experience, could see that Gao Jue's method, though rough, might be the best choice. Only this way could Zhang Pei calm down and save the man's life. If Gao Jue hadn't come, and she had seen it, she wouldn't have been able to stop Zhang Pei, who would have killed the man.

Cao Shufen was curious how Gao Jue had foreseen the trouble at Zhang Pei's home and rushed in to help. She couldn't figure it out.

Gao Jue whispered something in Zhang Pei's ear, and Zhang Pei nodded continuously, as if they had known each other for a long time. Then, they each grabbed one of the man's hands and dragged him into Zhang Pei's house like a dead dog. Cao Shufen quickly followed, and Yan Bing, seeing Cao Shufen move, subconsciously followed her. They stopped at the door, not daring to go in.

Zhang Pei's house was small. As soon as they entered, they were in the kitchen, with two rooms on either side. In the left room, a woman was cowering on the bed, her face full of fear. When she saw Zhang Pei and the others enter, she was terrified, clutching the blanket, her hands shaking.

"Bitch! You dare to cheat on me in broad daylight, in our home! I'll beat you to death!" Zhang Pei, who had just calmed down, was enraged again, jumping onto the bed.

Seeing her husband, the woman was even more terrified, begging for mercy, "I'm wrong... I won't do it again... spare me... it's my first time..."

"First time my ass! You're lying! You brought a man into our home on your first time!" Zhang Pei kicked her, cursing, "You bitch, I'll beat you to death! If I hadn't taken the afternoon off, I'd still be in the dark. Bringing a man into our home in broad daylight, damn you! I work hard to support you, and you turn out to be a white-eyed wolf!"

"Stop... ah... please... spare me this time... I won't do it again..." The woman screamed and cried, begging for mercy, but Zhang Pei showed no mercy.

Watching Zhang Pei beat his wife on the bed, Gao Jue was indifferent. Such a woman didn't deserve pity, she deserved it. Because of his deep feelings for Zhang Pei in his past life, Gao Jue even hated this woman.

However, Gao Jue kept an eye on Zhang Pei, afraid he would lose control and kill her. Fortunately, Zhang Pei, though angry, was still rational. He knew he couldn't kill her, thinking of his son.

In no time, the woman was bruised and swollen, her cries weakening. Zhang Pei stopped and shouted, "Chen Yan, you bitch, what do you plan to do now?"

"I... I don't know..." Chen Yan, cowering, cried.

"Damn it, you don't know! You knew everything when you cheated! Bitch, I wish I could beat you and that bastard to death! But killing you would dirty my hands! Get up, put on your clothes, and get out! I never want to see you again!" Zhang Pei roared.

"Zhang Pei, don't kick me out... where will I go... I have nowhere to go..." Chen Yan begged.

"Go to hell! Wherever you want to go, go there! You want to be with that bastard? Go home with him! Get out!"

"He... he... he has a wife..." Chen Yan said cautiously.

"Whether he has a wife or not is none of my business! If you want to sleep with him, sleep with him for life! Bastard!" Zhang Pei, getting angrier, jumped off the bed and kicked the man on the ground, "Bastard, you have a wife, yet you come to sleep with my wife, damn you!"

"Brother... I'm wrong... spare me..." The naked man was also crying, genuinely terrified.

"Go to hell, shut up!" Zhang Pei cursed, glaring at Chen Yan, "Get off the bed!"

"I... can I put on my clothes first?" Chen Yan asked, seeing Zhang Pei's murderous look.

"Damn it, you weren't afraid of people seeing you before? Put on your clothes now!" Zhang Pei shouted, but he didn't turn around, still glaring at Chen Yan.

Gao Jue quietly turned away.

Chen Yan, trembling, put on her clothes. She was in pain all over. She carefully got off the bed, not daring to look at Zhang Pei.

"You two, write a confession now, I'll use it for the divorce tomorrow!" Zhang Pei shouted.

"This... Zhang Pei... don't divorce me... you can beat me... just don't kick me out... we have a child... the child is still young..." Chen Yan cried.

"Don't give me that, damn it! When you cheated, did you think about the child! I'm divorcing you, write it now!" Zhang Pei grabbed Chen Yan's hair and roared.

Chen Yan saw that her husband was determined to divorce her. It was embarrassing, and she had no face to go back to her parents' home, but there was no other way. She sighed, perhaps this was the price for her mistake. She cried and wrote a confession, detailing her affair with the man, and signed it. Zhang Pei made the man sign it too, and he signed obediently.

Not only that, Gao Jue went out and brought Yan Bing and Cao Shufen in to sign the confession as witnesses. Why? Gao Jue had his reasons. They had beaten the adulterers badly, and if they reported it, the confession would be evidence of adultery, making any legal action easier.
