Mingdong, located in the Jung District of Seoul, is one of the city's representative shopping areas. Unlike the lower-end goods in Dongdaemun and the overly luxurious items in Cheongdam-dong, this place has become the favorite shopping district for Koreans, especially young people.
In early March, the sun was bright and the weather was gradually warming up. This was the perfect time for spring clothing changes and women's shopping sprees.
At three in the afternoon, standing at the entrance of the shopping street, Li Zhengxi struggled to free his hand from Alice's grip, trying to break free from the crowd. However, this demon was clearly not someone he could easily shake off.
Finally, he gave up in frustration, or perhaps from the moment Alice cornered him at his doorstep and dragged him into a dazzling black Maserati convertible, he had already resigned himself to his fate.
He let out a bitter laugh, looking at the gazes from all around and glancing at her, "Are you sure you can appear in our world of mortals?"
This demon was simply too dazzling. Her face had never changed, but no matter how it changed, it could never be as enchanting as it was now. She was so beautiful that every aspect of her, from her eyebrows, eyes, lips, nose, and skin, was flawless, surpassing the realm of words. Li Zhengxi had never seen a woman as beautiful as her.
She had changed her clothes again, wearing a beige knee-length trench coat, a brown blazer, and a white wide-collar shirt underneath, paired with dark blue jeans and brown eight-inch boots. Her full chest and legs, which were over 1.1 meters long, swayed in the wind.
As soon as she appeared, she became the focal point of the entire street, drawing the attention of both men and women. Several people almost twisted their necks, and many others collided with each other.
Li Zhengxi really didn't want to be the center of attention in such a situation, but Alice had a look of surprise, with a hint of mischief in her eyes, "Who said I can't?"
Li Zhengxi was frustrated. Seeing that some people were already taking out their phones and cameras to take pictures, he had to turn his face away and said to the demon, "Alright, can we go somewhere else? Don't you think Cheongdam-dong would be more suitable for your noble status?"
Although Cheongdam-dong was also bustling, it definitely had fewer people than here. Unfortunately, since Alice had come, she wasn't about to leave. She giggled and pouted cutely, "What are you talking about? I'm a beautiful woman shopping with you, shouldn't you feel very honored!"
Then she grabbed his arm, pressing her ample chest against it, making his heart flutter as she pulled him inside.
Resistance was futile, but things wouldn't be that simple. Li Zhengxi stared at Alice for a while, and she turned to him with a sweet smile, "Darling, am I pretty?"
Li Zhengxi sneered, "Honestly, what's your real plan, and isn't this against the rules of the game?"
"How can you be so mean!" Alice glared at him, then playfully hit him, which made many people around them envious, "I just want someone to shop with me, and I only know you..."
"Don't kid yourself," Li Zhengxi muttered to himself, deciding to go along with it and be prepared for anything, without saying more.
Although she was a demon, Alice was just like any other woman when it came to shopping. She went from store to store, looking at every item, moving from one place to another, and she had boundless energy. After almost two hours, she was still bouncing around.
Li Zhengxi, on the other hand, was completely exhausted and wished he could lie down on the ground. When Alice dragged him into the Shinsegae Department Store and plunged into a sea of fashion brands, he couldn't take it anymore. He plopped down on a sofa in the Chanel boutique and refused to move, no matter how much she pulled.
"You're not allowed to run," Alice's beautiful black eyes sparkled with a warning, "If you run, I won't let you off!"
"Do you think I dare, Miss!" Li Zhengxi, ignoring the amused looks of the beautiful saleswomen, pleaded, "You finish this floor first, and then I'll go with you to the upper floors..."
Seeing her finally leave, Li Zhengxi felt a lot lighter, but he was also puzzled. Was she really just shopping, or was there more to it?
He thought for a moment, then stood up and quietly followed her, observing her every move.
Giggles and hurried footsteps came from behind. Before Li Zhengxi could react, someone bumped into him.
Turning around, he saw a five or six-year-old girl instinctively hugging his leg to avoid falling, and behind her was a girl in her teens.
"Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?" Li Zhengxi turned, grabbed the little girl's arm, squatted down, and smiled.
"I'm fine!" The little girl lowered her head slightly, looking a bit timid. At this moment, a woman in her thirties appeared around the corner, saw the scene, and frowned, scolding, "What happened, Soo-jung?"
From her tone, it seemed she misunderstood, thinking Li Zhengxi was some kind of wolf. Fortunately, the older girl explained, "Sister just bumped into someone while running."
The woman understood and then scolded the older girl, "Jung Soo-yeon, didn't I tell you to watch your sister and not let her run around?" Then she smiled apologetically at Li Zhengxi, "Sorry, the kids are too mischievous!"
Jung Soo-yeon, Soo-jung, Li Zhengxi was taken aback. These names were too familiar. He looked at the sisters again, wondering if they were really them, and smiled, "It's okay, it's good for kids to be lively."
He then extended his hand politely, introducing himself, "Hello, I'm Li Zhengxi, I just came back from the United States..."
If he had said this to someone else, it would have been strange, but Li Zhengxi was deliberately doing it. Jung Soo-yeon's mother, Lee Soo-jung, didn't find it odd and instead said, "Oh, what a coincidence, we just came back from the United States too," and asked, "Where were you staying?"
"My home is in New York!" Li Zhengxi was delighted and continued, "But I study at Harvard, and I came back this year to do some practical research for my doctoral thesis..."
"Oh, New York, we were in San Francisco," Lee Soo-jung naturally continued, then looked at him admiringly, "A Harvard doctoral student, that's impressive, and you look so young!"
"Uh, I'm eighteen!" Li Zhengxi said, not to boast but to establish his credibility with the two young girls.
Indeed, when he said this, Lee Soo-jung was shocked, "You're only eighteen?" She looked at him again and said, "You really do look young," then praised, "You must be a genius!"
Then, seeing that Li Zhengxi was alone, she asked a question that almost made him want to kiss her, "Are you here alone?"
Li Zhengxi was trying to steer the conversation, and this was perfect. He smiled, inviting Lee Soo-jung to sit down, and said, "No, I have a friend, but I was busy on a film set and was very tired, so I let her shop by herself."
Then, as if joking, he asked Jung Soo-jung, "Little sister, do you want to act and become a big star?"
Jung Soo-jung, being young and finding Li Zhengxi approachable, answered instinctively, "Yes!"
Beside her, Lee Soo-jung laughed, thinking Li Zhengxi was joking. She patted Jung Soo-jung's cheek and scolded, "What are you talking about, do you even know what acting is?"
Li Zhengxi also laughed, his eyes twinkling, and said, "No one is born knowing how to act, you just have to learn!" Then, as if casually, he added, "I'm currently learning on a film set," and explained, "My doctoral thesis is about 'The Relationship Between Economic Environment and the Entertainment Industry,' so I wrote two scripts, one for a TV series and one for a movie. The TV series is still in preparation, but the movie is already in production. I'm using the production of these two works to learn what I need to know..."
Lee Soo-jung was truly shocked. She didn't expect this young man to be so capable, writing two scripts for his thesis and having them both produced.
Is this what a genius looks like!
Seeing Lee Soo-jung's reaction, Li Zhengxi knew he had a chance. However, just as he was about to seal the deal, Alice walked over from the other side and her face changed when she saw Lee Soo-jung and her daughters.
She walked over gracefully and enthusiastically, running up to Li Zhengxi and throwing herself into his arms, saying sweetly, "Darling, I kept you waiting, let's go!"
Lee Soo-jung looked at Alice in Li Zhengxi's arms, amazed by her beauty, and asked almost instinctively, "Is she your girlfriend?"
"No!" Li Zhengxi shook his head firmly, unaffected by the warmth in his arms, but Alice wrapped her arms around his neck, looking both intimate and shy, and introduced herself, "I'm his fiancée!"
Li Zhengxi was almost amused and angry, scolding, "What are you talking about!" However, Alice immediately put on a pouting, extremely aggrieved look, but remained silent, making Li Zhengxi's character questionable.
Li Zhengxi had worked hard to build a good image in front of Lee Soo-jung. Thinking of this, he sighed inwardly, awkwardly waved to Lee Soo-jung, and forced a smile, "Well, nice to meet you..."
He then waved to Jung Soo-yeon and Jung Soo-jung, smiling brightly, "Nice to meet you both, bye!"
Just as Lee Soo-jung smiled and nodded, thinking Li Zhengxi was leaving, he suddenly turned around, quickly pulled out a business card from his pocket, and handed it to Lee Soo-jung, smiling, "I think Soo-yeon and Soo-jung are very cute, and they have nice voices and looks. If they really like singing or acting, they can contact me..."
