Chapter 64

It was nearly five o'clock when the car arrived in Seoul. After more than two hours, Lee Jung-hee and Park Dong-jean had basically agreed on their plan. According to the plan, Lee Jung-hee would start his online actions first, while Park Dong-jean would go to communicate the details with KBS.

Then, when the time was ripe, they would act swiftly, making both online and offline activities erupt simultaneously to create a hot topic, just like what was done with "The Curse."

They were approaching Mapo District when Lee Jung-hee and Park Dong-jean waved goodbye. Coincidentally, as soon as he got out of the car and was about to head home, his phone rang.

As soon as he answered, Hye-yeon's unusually gentle voice came through, "I heard you're back in Seoul today. Have you arrived home yet?"

"Right on time!" Lee Jung-hee smiled. "What's up? Is there something you need?"

Hye-yeon pouted, looking at the neatly packed room. All of this was his doing, yet he acted as if nothing had happened. She gritted her teeth, and her voice carried a hint of displeasure, "Nothing much, I'm moving today!"

"Oh," Lee Jung-hee realized, then patted his forehead. "Alright, I'll come over right away. Just wait a moment!"

The deposit for Hye-yeon's current residence was paid by Wellmade Company. Since she had terminated her contract, she couldn't stay there anymore. However, finding a suitable place wasn't easy. To be more prudent, Lee Jung-hee suggested that Hye-yeon move to Cheongbuk-dong.

Since Son Ye-jin was still living there, Hye-yeon moving in would prevent Jang Dong-gun from looking at him with that ambiguous gaze.

Moreover, in a place like Cheongbuk-dong, the rats from the Seoul underworld wouldn't dare to cause trouble. Even displaying the Cheongbuk-dong sign would intimidate their enemies.

Due to traffic, it took half an hour to reach Hye-yeon's place again. By then, most of the items in the room were already packed, with only the unnecessary ones left unpacked.

However, when Lee Jung-hee entered and saw the situation, he rubbed his nose and gently pulled Hye-yeon aside, whispering, "We have almost everything at our place. Your wardrobe, table, chairs, and such, if they don't have special sentimental value, perhaps you can throw them away..."

"Have everything?" Hye-yeon pouted, huffed, and said, "So what? These are mine, and I like them. I'm used to them!"

Lee Jung-hee could clearly sense her sudden mood, but he didn't know why. He could only give a helpless smile, "I understand that!" He paused slightly and explained, "Although the space there is large, the arrangement of items is fixed and quite full..."

Actually, he wanted to say that her things would look out of place and awkward when placed there. This wasn't just how others would feel; more importantly, it would affect her. She would be the first to feel uncomfortable, and she would definitely feel frustrated.

However, Lee Jung-hee couldn't say this directly, or Hye-yeon would definitely explode!

After some thought, he compromised, "How about this, I'll find a place to store these things for you, and you can retrieve them when you move to another place. What do you think?"

Hye-yeon grumbled in her heart, but since the items weren't particularly important, and seeing his patient and gentle demeanor, her mood gradually calmed down.

"That's too much trouble!" Hye-yeon found an excuse, but then muttered, "But I even called a moving truck!"

Seeing that she wasn't being difficult anymore, Lee Jung-hee sighed in relief and said, "Just pay him!" He gestured to the items in the room and continued, "Among these small things, besides the bedding and clothes, what else is particularly important? Tell us..."

After the large items like the wardrobe, table, and chairs were gone, only the bedding and clothes remained, making the packing process much simpler. With Lee Jung-hee and his two temporary bodyguards, and Hye-yeon and her two temporary bodyguards, the six of them quickly and easily moved everything downstairs.

They got back in the car and arrived at Cheongbuk-dong at around 6:30 PM. The night had begun to fall, and the lights of Seoul were starting to shine brightly. Cheongbuk-dong was also well-lit, but it wasn't as bustling as other areas; instead, it was very quiet.

Although Hye-yeon had mentally prepared herself, and even more so when entering Cheongbuk-dong, she was still stunned by the luxurious mansion surrounded by high walls when the car stopped in front of the Lee family's old residence.

This was the place that even the wealthy in Gangnam District aspired to. No wonder! Hye-yeon marveled in her heart. Seeing her stunned expression, Son Ye-jin, who had already received a call from Lee Jung-hee and was waiting at the door, knew what she was thinking.

She playfully elbowed Lee Jung-hee, knowing that he had already informed her about Hye-yeon moving in and even sought her opinion, showing great respect. Although she thought he was being insincere, she was still satisfied and didn't mind having another housemate.

The house was so large that sometimes she felt it was too empty and even a bit scary. So, having another person might be a good thing.

Therefore, she extended her hand first, "Hello, I'm Son Ye-jin!"

"Oh!" Hye-yeon finally reacted, feeling embarrassed by her earlier behavior. She quickly glanced at Lee Jung-hee, who was busy directing the bodyguards, and felt relieved. She then extended her hand to Son Ye-jin, though her smile was slightly forced, "Hello, I'm Hye-yeon..."

Son Ye-jin was new to the industry and, due to Lee Jung-hee's easy-going nature, had never experienced the cutthroat competition among peers. Seeing Hye-yeon and finding her somewhat likable, she felt reassured.

To ease Hye-yeon's awkwardness, she giggled and pulled her inside, sharing her own shock when she first saw the house.

This was indeed effective, and it won Hye-yeon's friendship.

Soon, the bodyguards brought the items into the guest room where Hye-yeon would stay. At this point, Hye-yeon understood why Lee Jung-hee didn't want her to bring much. The room was so exquisitely decorated.

This made her realize Lee Jung-hee's thoughtful nature, but she had wronged him earlier.

Thinking about this, she couldn't help but turn to look at him. Coincidentally, Lee Jung-hee was also looking at her, and she immediately panicked, quickly turning away. Then she heard him ask, "What do you want to eat for dinner?"

"Oh!" Hye-yeon reacted, then turned to look at him again and glanced at Son Ye-jin, asking, "What are you having?"

"We haven't decided yet," Lee Jung-hee answered, "so we'd like to hear your suggestions!"

At this moment, Son Ye-jin winked at her and said, "Just a reminder, if you want alcohol, you don't need to consider it. There are things here that you can't buy outside!"

Seeing Lee Jung-hee glare at her, she stuck out her tongue and whispered, "Are you happy today, you miser!"

Hye-yeon laughed at her antics but also envied the close relationship between Son Ye-jin and Lee Jung-hee, feeling a bit jealous.

After composing herself, she turned to Lee Jung-hee, "Since you're treating us, I won't be shy!" She winked at Son Ye-jin and counted off, "Salmon sashimi, spicy beef soup, ham and tofu hot pot, grilled Hanwoo beef, 1++ ribeye, marinated ribs, fried chicken, grilled mackerel, cold seafood noodles, mung bean cake, and rice cake shaved ice..."

She listed nearly twenty items as if she hadn't eaten in years. Son Ye-jin, seeing her excitement, joined in, and in the end, even Lee Jung-hee's protests were ignored as they called to place the order.

Actually, it wasn't too excessive. Including the main dishes, soups, and desserts, there were only fifteen items in total. When these were placed on the table on the second-floor terrace, it didn't seem like much, and it even felt like something was missing.

At this moment, Son Ye-jin sneakily brought up a bottle of red wine from below. Lee Jung-hee pretended not to see it. The old house had a vast wine cellar with a large collection of wines, most of which were left by his grandfather, and later, his father added some. However, due to his father's hypertension, he had largely given up drinking. Additionally, none of the three Lee brothers were big drinkers, so the wine was preserved there, only taken out during holidays.

Since it was just sitting there, and Son Ye-jin was very respectful, having only drunk three bottles in all this time, each time she took one, she would try to please him.

Hye-yeon was somewhat curious and reached for the bottle in Son Ye-jin's hand. It wasn't in Korean or English but in French. However, she knew a bit about wine and recognized it as Château Haut-Brion. When she saw the 1982 vintage, she gasped.

But looking down from the terrace at the luxurious, palace-like villa, she felt more at ease. Perhaps this was the life of these people.

She smiled and watched Son Ye-jin happily open the wine and place it in an ice bucket, her skilled yet cute movements maintaining her innocence. She couldn't help but ask, "How did you sign with this guy?"

"He tricked me!" Son Ye-jin glanced at Lee Jung-hee, who was grilling meat, and pouted. "I just finished my interview, and he came up to me, offering many good conditions," then she slapped her forehead, looking regretful, "I was too naive back then and foolishly signed up. Now it's too late to regret it..."

Seeing Hye-yeon laughing at her, she also laughed and asked, "What about you? Why did you suddenly sign with him?"

Hye-yeon shrugged, half-jokingly, "The same as you, I was tricked!" She glared at Lee Jung-hee, who was bringing the grilled meat, and said, "He's a born trickster!"

This sudden comment left Lee Jung-hee speechless, "What's wrong?" Son Ye-jin giggled, putting her hand on his shoulder, "Sister Hye-yeon says you tricked her..."

Tricking her might not be accurate, but some of the details might be true, so Lee Jung-hee felt a bit awkward. Seeing Hye-yeon still staring at him, he quickly changed the subject, "By the way, has anyone been bothering you recently?"

Hye-yeon was taken aback, then understood, remembering the incident a few days ago. She felt annoyed and wanted to get angry, but seeing his sincere expression, she didn't want to. In the end, she said calmly, "A few guys followed me a few days ago, but they gave up when they saw the bodyguards..."

"Ah!" Lee Jung-hee was surprised, and Son Ye-jin gasped, guessing what had happened. She asked Hye-yeon, "What's going on? Is someone trying to get to you?"

Thinking about Hye-yeon's sudden signing, she asked again, "Was it your previous agency? Was there a reason for your termination?" Then she suddenly glared at Lee Jung-hee, pointing at him, "Ah, I know, did you two...?"

Though not entirely accurate, it wasn't far off. Lee Jung-hee was very embarrassed, but Hye-yeon immediately denied it, "No!"

Son Ye-jin, not convinced, elbowed the embarrassed Lee Jung-hee, "Just look at his face," she giggled, staring at Hye-yeon, "Besides, why are you so nervous?"

Hye-yeon rolled her eyes but suddenly didn't want to clarify. Lee Jung-hee shrugged helplessly, "It's not what you think!"

"Then what is it?" Son Ye-jin pouted, staring at him intently.

"Uh!" Lee Jung-hee was taken aback, about to make something up, but Hye-yeon interrupted, "Enough, let's not talk about this. It's boring!"

Then she suddenly stared at Lee Jung-hee, "Actually, what I'm most curious about is why you offered me such good signing conditions. I'm not a superstar," seeing Lee Jung-hee about to explain, she immediately guessed what he would say and waved her hand, "I still don't believe the reason you gave me last time. I want to hear the truth..."

Son Ye-jin was surprised and also stared at Lee Jung-hee, "Yeah, you gave me, a rookie, such good conditions. Even if there was an intention to lure me, you shouldn't be so polite after getting me..."

This girl was always so casual, and Lee Jung-hee playfully tapped her head, ignoring her protests. After some thought, he looked at Hye-yeon seriously, "Actually, it's not complicated. I'm also in the industry, and I know the hardships you face. So, I thought I could help you as much as I can. Of course, I'm not doing this without a purpose!"

At this point, he looked at both of them and, after making them promise to keep it secret, continued, "If I can sign most of the stars, directors, writers, and others in the industry with the best conditions, then we will form an incredibly powerful force, one that can influence the industry and set the rules of the game..."

Hye-yeon and Son Ye-jin were shocked. After a long pause, Hye-yeon stared at Lee Jung-hee intently, "And you will be the one controlling this force!"

Lee Jung-hee smiled and nodded. However, this was just a small part of his future ambitions.
