A few minutes later, the collection work was over.
"This is the first time I've held a real gun," Lang Shuai said, holding the rifle in his hand.
"Remember not to point the gun at anyone, and make sure to engage the safety before playing with it. Glasses."
Old He took the rifle from Lang Shuai and engaged the safety.
"Sorry."
Lang Shuai nodded honestly.
"Take your weapons; you need to at least learn how to protect yourselves. None of you know how to use a gun?"
When Old He asked, Qiu Wei smoothly loaded the magazine, pulled the bolt, and completed the actions in one fluid motion.
"Damn, you know how to use a gun and you didn't say anything earlier!"
"You interrupted me when I was about to mention my specialty."
Qiu Wei replied innocently.
"It's all my fault. But didn't you say you were a company manager?"
"I was a soldier for a few years before becoming a manager."
"Why didn't you become a police officer after you were discharged!"
Old He looked at Qiu Wei's already plump body, which seemed far removed from that of a soldier, with a sense of resentment.
After that, Old He had Qiu Wei give a simple explanation of how to use the guns. It was easy to learn just how to shoot. While the others were getting familiar with the guns, Old He entered the nearby armored vehicle to gather information.
Siji took a pistol; he didn't take a rifle because, given his strength, the weight of the rifle would be a burden. In fact, even the pistol seemed meaningless to him. He could already foresee his wrist being injured by the recoil after firing.
He watched for a while, then ejected a bullet from the magazine. Upon closer inspection, he noticed some unknown characters engraved on the bullet, which looked like Sanskrit.
"Is this the reason it can deal with spirits?"
As he touched the runes, Siji felt a trace of power.
Suddenly, Siji sensed a wave of malice. He looked up to see a distant evil spirit.
"We've been discovered."
After Siji spoke, the others also noticed the change in the evil spirits. A group of black shadows was rushing towards them.
"What do we do? They're coming!"
Lang Shuai turned to shout at Old He, who was in the car.
"Is the gun in your hand just for show?"
Old He came out of the car, perhaps to conserve energy, and picked up a rifle to start shooting at the enemies.
The sound of gunfire rang out, and the evil spirits that were hit instantly had bullet holes in their bodies. No blood flowed from the wounds, only burn-like scars. After a dozen bullets, the leading evil spirits were shattered and fell to the ground.
Seeing the fallen evil spirits, Lang Shuai and Qiu Wei were encouraged and began shooting.
From the shooting, it was clear that Lang Shuai and Qiu Wei were different. Qiu Wei's shooting was very stable, not necessarily hitting every shot, but each shot landed in roughly the same place. On the other hand, Lang Shuai's shots were all over the place due to his inability to control the recoil, but the dense number of evil spirits meant it wasn't a problem.
Thus, a dense line of fire flew towards the evil spirits from different directions, immediately halting their advance.
"Beauty, superpower boy, you handle the attacks. The rest of you, move the weapons and ammunition to the car. We'll escape by car later."
Old He continued to shoot while giving instructions to Siji and Qiu Hua.
This order gave Siji, who couldn't shoot, something to do, perhaps a form of concern from Old He.
"Understood."
Siji and Qiu Hua nodded and began to act. However, Siji's physical strength was truly pitiful. He had to use all his strength to carry two rifles, while Qiu Hua, who was carrying various equipment and ammunition weighing dozens of kilograms, didn't even break a sweat. It seemed that Qiu Hua's confidence in her physical strength was not exaggerated.
In a short time, Qiu Hua had made several trips. By the time Siji came to his senses, everything was already moved, and he hadn't helped much.
"Thank you."
Qiu Hua still had a smile on her face and didn't mind that Siji hadn't helped.
On the other side, the number of evil spirits rushing towards them had significantly decreased.

Qiu Wei shouted loudly, looking refreshed.
Siji could feel the gloomy aura that had been lingering around Qiu Wei dissipate with the firing of the bullets.

This victory seemed to have overcome Lang Shuai's fear of evil spirits, which was likely Old He's intention.
"Good, finish this wave off. We'll retreat before the next one comes."
Seeing that there were only a few evil spirits left, Old He issued the next order.
At that moment, Siji's head suddenly turned backward.
"Behind us."
A large black figure leaped from the buildings behind the car. The evil spirit was almost upon them, its long legs, much longer than a human's, slamming into the ground, cracking the asphalt.
"Watch out!"
A figure darted past Siji like the wind. Before he could even see who it was, the person had already attacked.
A beautiful arc appeared in the air, extending from the lower left to the upper right, passing through the evil spirit's body. The evil spirit's movements froze, and then its body was split in two along the arc.
The upper half of the evil spirit landed first, revealing a smooth, burn-like cut, clearly made by a sharp blade moving at high speed.
Siji's gaze shifted from the evil spirit to the attacker. Standing in front of the evil spirit was a figure holding a katana, her usually neat braid now hanging over her shoulder, but her gentle, smiling face remained unchanged.
"Qiu Hua..."
The one who had delivered the sharp slash was Qiu Hua.
Qiu Hua performed a standard sheathing motion and turned around.
"Close call, that was a shock."
We were the ones who got a shock! This was what the others were thinking.
"Good thing my skills haven't rusted."
Qiu Hua glanced at the katana in her hand.
"What is that?"
Old He stared at Qiu Hua in disbelief.
"Ah, I borrowed this katana from that corpse over there."
Qiu Hua pointed to a body in a suit, likely one of the people from the Ministry of the Environment's Super Natural Disaster Countermeasures Office.
"That's not what I meant! I meant your sword skills!"
Old He was so excited that he stopped shooting, but fortunately, there were only a few evil spirits left.
"Oh, I joined the kendo club in high school, so I practiced a bit."
Qiu Hua spoke as if it were a trivial matter.
"One cut, two pieces. Is that the level of a high school kendo club? Do they train monsters in your high school kendo club?"
Even Old He started to criticize.
