Chapter 32

......I was bewildered by the clear change in Ellis, but eventually, she started walking towards her house.

I also began walking home with Libia, but on the way, Libia peered over at me.

"Lord Crest. Lady Ellis is quite different from what I had heard about her."

"I'm surprised too."

I had told Libia about my life in the Upper World.

I had also briefly mentioned my relationship with Ellis, so she seemed to be particularly cautious towards Ellis.

I thought about Ellis again.

...What kind of change in her mindset could have occurred?

However, I also had some thoughts.

I believe that even from the past, there were times when she was honest and affectionate.

Thinking about it, in a sense, the current Ellis might be putting her honesty front and center.

When Libia and I returned to the room, I stretched my body lightly.

After a meeting, my body always feels tense.

As I moved to relax, Libia's voice reached me.

"Lord Crest, are you going to spin the gacha now?"

"Basically, that's the plan."

Thanks to today's hunt, I have enough points.

I can spin the gacha twenty-two times.

It's about time for one of my rainbow skills to reach MAX level.

"Then, I'll watch with you."

"Sure, I understand."

I sat on the bed, and Libia sat next to me.

Then, I opened the gacha screen.

Come on, give me a good skill.

With that thought, I spun the gacha for the eleventh time.

When the box appeared, eleven beautiful orbs emerged from it.

One rainbow skill?

I checked all the skills, but there were no new ones.

The rainbow skill was Black Shield.

I was happy, but honestly, I wanted Dark Knight more.

I'll have to hope for the next gacha.

I used my last points to spin the gacha.

...Another one rainbow skill?

Maybe my luck hasn't been good lately.

I quickly checked all the skills.

The last rainbow skill was Shadow Technique.

Shadow Technique.

Finally, Shadow Technique reached MAX level.

This might improve my control.

Thinking about it, I was looking forward to using it next time.

"...Dark Knight didn't come up."

Libia, who was sitting next to me, said with a disappointed look.

I felt the same way.

"Yeah. Anyway, I'll have to look for a new monster."

"That's true... I hope we can find one."

We haven't found many new species of monsters lately, so I really wanted to max out Dark Knight's level.

But, there's nothing I can do about it now.

I'll forget about the gacha and rest for today.

Feeling tired, I quickly got into bed and closed my eyes.

The next day.

As we had discussed yesterday, I headed to the training ground to get Ellis's help.

When I arrived at the training ground, Ellis was already there.

She had been lightly exercising and smiled when she noticed me.

"Crest, good morning."

"Good morning. Sorry for making you come so early."

Ellis was dressed as usual, but she had a sword at her waist.

How skilled is Ellis with a sword?

Nobles sometimes learn swordsmanship for self-defense.

However, I couldn't remember how much Ellis had learned.

"No, I'm happy to meet you like this, Crest."

She smiled brightly.

I could only return a wry smile.

"By the way, can Ellis use a sword?"

"Originally, I wasn't that good with it."

"Originally?"

Her words left me with a question.

"Yes. After receiving the blessing of the Holy Maiden, I became much better at handling it."

...I see.

The blessing of the Holy Maiden might have an effect similar to a swordsmanship skill.

Well, Ellis won't be fighting this time.

As I talked with Ellis, Orpheus approached us.

"Crest, Ellis. What exactly are we doing today?"

Orpheus glanced at us.

I hadn't told Orpheus the details.

"I thought you could be our sparring partner."

"...So, you want me to be a test subject?"

"I don't plan to hurt you. I just need you to spar with us a bit."

Orpheus smiled wryly at my words.

"Well, I can be a sparring partner... but I doubt I can satisfy two people with such excellent skills."

I returned a wry smile to his uncertain words.

"That's fine. I'll be the one fighting... and I have others to help me."

I glanced over.

A group of leaders from various races approached.

Libia, Sphie, Vanya, Gorga, and Katrina.

Including Orpheus, I would be facing a total of six people.

"Lord Crest, even for you, it seems rather reckless to face us."

Libia, who was at the front, said this.

Her eyes were relaxed and seemed to be enjoying the prospect.

It wasn't just Libia.

"Crest, I won't hold back."

"Hehehe, it's cloudy today, so I can really shine!"

"Crest, we can fight too, you know."

"I can be pretty impressive when I go all out."

Each of them looked at me with their own confidence.

Of course, if we fought normally, it would be tough.

But this time, Ellis is here.

With her support magic, it might not be so reckless.

"Then, let's start. Ellis, can you cast your support magic on me?"

"Yes, I understand."

Ellis said this and raised her hand towards me.

The next moment, a faint light enveloped my body.

The instant I was enveloped by the light, a surge of power rose from deep within me.
