Guo Juexing lit a torch, and the four of them lined up and entered the tomb one by one.
Guo Juexing walked in the front and heard the wind whistling from the bottom of the tomb. The torches also burned vigorously, indicating there was plenty of oxygen. He paused for a moment, then stopped silently when he saw the tomb gate formed of white jade.
The tomb gate was priceless. In the past, all of the players who wanted to violently detonate the jade gate were warned by the game.
Guo Juexing took a paperman out of his space pocket and reluctantly bit his index finger. The paperman quickly spun and transformed as if granted life. Finally, an inconspicuous version of Guo Juexing appeared in front of the group. His eyes were smaller than the main body’s, his mouth was crooked, and his body was much fatter.
“Hey, it feels solid when you touch it!” Fu Qing couldn’t restrain his curiosity. He reached his hand out and pinched the paperman.
“Hee hee hee.” Guo Paperman laughed harshly like a rascal. After landing, he ran toward the jade gate like a child who weighed 200 jin. 1
There were many terrible traps set up on the path to the jade gate, but Guo Paperman was a flexible fat man. He leaped and performed splits with great skill. It was a pity that, despite his skill, he was still seriously wounded. A giant dart flew above Guo Paperman’s scalp. Guo Paperman couldn’t dodge and was unfortunately struck with a killing blow as his head was tossed away. Luckily, a paperman wasn’t real flesh and blood. Even if he was fatally injured, he could still laugh without care.
You Xi: “……”
Even Guo Paperman was their meat shield, he still had to say that the thing was revolting.
Guo Juexing desperately rolled his eyes as he watched the fallen paperman. Luckily his teammates were more focused and didn’t taunt him.
When Guo Paperman arrived in front of the jade gate, his left arm had been crushed by a heavy hammer and an envenomed arrow was stuck in his back, but he didn’t care at all. He pulled out the arrow as if he was human, turned sideways, quickly transformed into a thin piece of paper, and entered through the jade gate.
Everyone thought Guo Paperman entered the jade gate to find out how to open the door for them, but as they waited and waited, there was no movement on either side of the jade gate.
Fu Qing: “Guo-ge, even if the paperman can’t open the door, why isn’t it returning?”
“……Fuck his mother!” Guo Juexing’s face paled. “That bastard is gone!”
The systematic creation of papermen can be useful, but it was unfortunately a bit iffy. After gaining human blood and self-awareness, they wouldn’t be obedient.
No one had actually expected this situation. Guo Juexing’s papermen had had problems before, but this was the first time one was so unreliable.
Fortunately, the paperman had already explored the path. Everyone was able to avoid danger and safely arrived in front of the jade gate.
“When my brother came here last time, he entered through a thieves’ hole that other players made in the front, and didn’t damage the jade gate.” Fu Qing kicked and stomped in various places with his feet, “Yeah, this is it!
You Xi handed his telescopic shovel to Guo Juexing. Guo Juexing handed the torch to Fu Qing and began digging at his feet. Not long after, the hole left by the past players was revealed.
You Xi groaned. “The thieves’ hole should have been filled by the ghost NPCs of the instance. Does that mean that the ghosts are responsible for clearing the area after each player leaves?”
“Of course.” Zhou Yu nodded.
“Then let’s be careful and pay attention to not damage too much.” You Xi suggested. “NPCs aren’t simple. If we give them less trouble, they won’t retaliate too harshly against us.”
Guo Juexing’s face was pale as he raised his head. “……It seems like it’s a bit too late to say that.”
Everyone looked as if they had question marks above their heads, but Fu Qing responded first: “Guo-ge’s paperman!”
Across from them, Guo Juexing’s paperman with a snake-like spirit chortled as he ran, alarming many ghosts along his way.
“Who’s disturbing my dreams? Who is that, so annoying.” A ghost follower rubbed his skull-eyes and complained.
“Kill him!”
“Kill him!”
Amongst the rioting crowd, Guo Paperman rushed toward the ghost followers. With each step he took, the earth trembled.
Guo Paperman’s head seemed to be taller than when he landed before. The arm he lost had gradually recovered, now only missing one hand.
The ghost followers stayed in the dark, trying to attack Guo Paperman from behind when he wasn’t paying attention. Unexpectedly, the crooked-mouthed Guo Paperman turned his head with a strange smile on his face. The ghost followers felt a chill, then in the next second were caught by Guo Paperman–
“Xixixi, delicious, delicious!” Guo Paperman bit off the ghost followers’ heads, making a terrifying snapping sound.
On the other side, You Xi and the others walked in the gloomy underground palace, constantly feeling like there were innumerable pairs of eyes watching them from behind.
“It’s cold.” Zhou Yu murmured. “The earlier players never mentioned the low temperature.. I feel like many things have changed.”
Each of them was an experienced player and brought extra clothing along. After putting on thick jackets, they felt better.
”
”
“We can’t spend the night in this instance.” Guo Juexing felt a cold sweat. “Something is very wrong here.”
“Why do you say that?” Zhou Yu asked.
“Temperature.” Fu Qing spoke suddenly. “The temperature is dropping lower and lower. If we stay overnight, then if we don’t sleep, we won’t be able to maintain our physical fitness. But if we sleep, all of us will freeze to death.”
Everyone looked solemn.
This divine tomb was full of forks. They chose the rightmost road at each fork and managed not to encounter any ghost NPCs along the way.
“It’s not right, it’s wrong!” At the next fork in the road, Guo Juexing was determined to not move ahead. “It doesn’t matter if there aren’t any ghosts. Even though that feeling of being stared at from when we first entered the divine tomb just went away– this is totally abnormal!”
Guo Juexing turned around as he spoke. When he saw the people behind him, his face immediately paled.
The people behind him, they were clearly three ghost followers!
“Ah–!” After nine twists and turns in the divine tomb, Guo Juexing heard someone screaming. It was a woman’s scream, though. Could it be that the Divine Tomb instance could now be entered by multiple teams simultaneously?
Guo Juexing didn’t have time to think deeply. His eyes were fierce as he fought a battle of life and death against the three ghost followers behind him.
The same situation was occurring for everyone in their team.
You Xi noticed the abnormality earlier than Guo Juexing. He was in the end position of their team, so he was always wary of the gazes behind him. After all, if a ghost attacked from behind, then You Xi would definitely be attacked first, since he was at the back.
Almost as soon as the gaze disappeared, You Xi noticed something was wrong.
He calmly used an invisibility seal and glanced behind him, but there was nothing, not even a sound.
You Xi hastened his steps and walked ahead, watching Zhou Yu. But where was Zhou Yu? That was clearly a ghost follower in front of him!
You Xi turned back decisively. He didn’t want to tag along with those skeletons.
The trio of skeletons walked and walked, and walked and walked. It had been 3 minutes but the S-Level boss hadn’t noticed anything abnormal. They couldn’t hold in a sigh as they stopped, then looked back.
“Ah! What the hell.” Said Skeleton One. “The boss is gone!”
“We’re just ghosts ourselves. What’s all the fuss about hell.”2 Skeleton Two said from down the line. “But when did the boss leave? I didn’t even notice.”
“Boss is so kind, he didn’t hit me.” Skeleton Three said. “Can we get off work today, ba? Yeah! Happiness has come too suddenly!”
At the same time, You Xi, who turned back along the same path, found that the passage he had just walked along wasn’t the rightmost road at all, but the leftmost.
He had probably been mixed up by the game.
You Xi didn’t have any torches, so he could only use the faint light of a night pearl in the tomb to watch the scene before him. There were four paths ahead, and You Xi guessed that the players on his team were scattered amongst each path. On the far right should be where Guo Juexing was, and then the three remaining people went one by one to the left.
Of the entire group of people, You Xi felt that Guo Juexing was the most reliable, so he decided to enter the far right path to find him.
As he walked, he was about to stumble out of the path and turn along the next fork in the road when he discovered that Fu Qing appeared sneakily from the entrance of one of the caves ahead. He cleared his throat, tightened his core, turned his back to You Xi, and let out a feminine scream.
You Xi paused. What was that kid trying to do?
