You Xi quickly ran to the front of the skeleton army and hid behind a stone. When the lead skeleton turned to face him, You Xi ripped the invisibility seal off and stood there with his arms crossed.
The lead skeleton took a step back: “It’s you!”
The wind swirled around him. You Xi’s hair was fluttering and the dirt on his face was wiped clean. The corners of his lips show a smile, like a peacock fanning his tail, fascinating the skeleton.
“Yes, we meet again.” You Xi said. “Don’t be wary. I want to go see the saint with you.”
Lead Skeleton: “…Are you trapping yourself in the net, ma?” 1
You Xi shook his head. “I came all the way here just to be able to see the saint.”
“See and steal our saint’s treasures?” The other skeletons assumed indignantly. “You players come here every day for that kind of thievery. It’s terrible.”
You Xi’s gaze paused on the skeleton with an indifferent expression: “Gold, silver, and jade, silk and satin, who can be compared with the saint? Who are you looking down on?”
The other party was struck silent and instantly hesitated.
The lead skeleton slowly spoke: “The players who came here in the past were all bad. Our saint doesn’t like to see such players. But if it’s you–“
The lead skeleton looked at You Xi’s effortlessly handsome face, coughing, and changed his words: “I can try and introduce you. But it’s impolite to see the saint as you are now; we need to neaten your appearance.”
”
”
He understood it clearly but said nothing. You Xi knew in his heart that the lead skeleton’s idea was to offer him as a male pet, but rather than being captured after his invisibility failed, it was better to take the initiative and face what fate had in store for him. Since he can’t escape from the storm, let it come more fiercely!
You Xi became a gift for the saint. Skeletons gathered around him to dress him up in a brocade hat, mink fur, and a pearlescent jade pendant. Guo Juexing was watching, and he had to sigh in admiration–
You Xi was so handsome!
People rely on clothes, while Buddha relies on gold.2 After changing out of his dirty jacket and wearing beautiful clothes, You Xi instantly became as bright as the moon amongst the clouds and as pure white as the snow from the sky. He was wealthy and had an excellent temperament. Even top beauties standing next to him would be eclipsed by the contrast.
Like all of the skeletons who had never experienced the world, Guo Juexing’s mouth opened slightly.
Thanks to You Xi’s help, Zhou Yu’s treatment finally improved. Although he was still a prisoner, they untied the shackles around his feet.
Zhou Yu was moved to tears, and he appearance became sticky in You Xi’s eyes.
With the skeleton army leading him, You Xi and the others no longer needed to flit around like headless flies. They bypassed the poisonous spiders, avoided the deadly swamp that was in the tomb, and reached the main hall of the underground palace, unhindered the entire time.
“In front of us is Tun Ri Temple.”3 The lead skeleton said nervously. “The others will wait quietly outside, while 10 people will escort the prisoner.”
The prisoner, of course, referred to Zhou Yu. Guo Juexing volunteered, but he was looked down upon due to his small stature and lost the vote.
There were many skeletal envoys 4 serving the saint within Tun Ri Temple. Their heads were wrapped in white turbans; they were the same acquaintances who served him afternoon tea before.
“Esteemed Envoy, a distinguished guest wishes to see our Lord Saint.” The lead skeleton tapped his right shoulder with his left hand and bowed respectfully. “Another player has been captured by us. Although he should be executed directly, the player has some connection to our distinguished guest. How we should handle it must be adjudicated by the saint.”
A few of the envoys immediately turned back to report to the temple, while the rest sent exaggerated flattery toward You Xi.
“Honorable S-Level player, after not seeing you for half a day, you have become more radiant.” The holy envoy praised. “The saint heard of you a long time ago. She became your fan!
The envoy’s words were only just spoken, and then a stormy sea appeared in the game’s live broadcasting room–
“Did I hear that right, ba?” Jiejie Hai Keyi Zai Huo Wubai Nian said anxiously, “Isn’t the saint in the Jade Gate Divine Tomb instance the boss? What does that skeleton mean? Can the boss also watch our game’s livestream?”
“Extremely scary thoughts!”
“Extremely scary thoughts +1”
“Speaking of that, some people have suspected for a long time that there were problems with the user composition in the live broadcasting rooms.” Jiao Wo Xiao Ke’ai said. “The reward amount for livestreamers can range within the tens of millions, but where would an average player get so much money? I’ve saved up a bit to give 004 rewards, but even until now, I’ve only invested 8000 game coins.”
“Is this real? The ghosts and monsters in the game are actually watching us!” The fans were panicking. “But what do they mean by watching the players and giving them rewards? Do they want to fatten them up and eat them?” 5
The envoys who had left and rushed to report to the saint returned. Their brisk pace revealed their enthusiasm: “Please enter the temple!”
Following the envoys’ lead, You Xi arrived at Tun Ri Temple, which was decorated with swathes of hanging brocade.
In the center of the temple rested a crystal coffin.
The envoys took the initiative to retreat. You Xi opened the coffin to see a woman with a cold face lying within.
”
”
You Xi: “……” This scene was like Snow White with Prince Charming, ah!
But who would want to kiss the unfamiliar saint, ah? You Xi very much wanted to clear the level, but…
For some reason, at that moment, Qin Yuandai’s tall, handsome nose and thin lips lingered in his mind.
It’s too late, You Xi thought sadly. He may be a gay guy who has no reaction to girls at all.
The saint was lying in the coffin, no longer able to wait for a gently kiss. She opened her purple eyes, watching You Xi.
You Xi was startled.
Purple eyes? Maybe it was just You Xi overthinking, but he always felt that purple was the color of demons… this saint was a bit abnormal.
The saint slowly sat up in the coffin. She lifted her chin slightly and raised the corners of her eyes with an inexplicable smile.
The saint’s voice was magnetic, and felt that it was ambiguously neither male nor female.
“You’re like a pearl in this filthy world. The first time I saw you, I felt that your body was gleaming.” Her long hair fell across her chest, and her purple eyes seemed to have the magical ability to enchant people.
The saint slowly rose from her coffin. Her body was so covered in diamonds and black pearls that it was dizzying.
“Do you know why we’re known as the Tun Ri Sect, ma?” The saint walked barefoot across the marble floor of the palace. She was tall, almost the same as You Xi, and her body had the golden ratio. She was as divine as a god’s idol.
”
”
You Xi said nothing. He actually didn’t want to learn anything about the origin of the Tun Ri Sect. After all, the more he knew, the faster he would die.
“In ancient times, people were far less knowledgeable than they currently are. When they saw a solar eclipse, they thought that they had offended the face in the heavens.” 6The saint ascended the stairs, and her long skirts fell to the ground. “They were ignorant and clueless. They established their religion and built an opulent underground palace just to sacrifice their saint to the legendary god–“
“But where is the god?”
The saint suddenly spun around. She gave a strange smile, then crooked her finger at you Xi: “Come with me.”
Behind the saint, the gate made of white jade slowly opened, and the dark underground tomb revealed a place where sunlight scattered. And behind it, bathed in the gentle sunlight, was the statue of a saint.
But You Xi knew that the sunlight was fake.
It was already 8 o’clock in the evening. How could there be sunlight?
“Why will you not follow?” The saint glanced at him.
You Xi smiled as if embarrassed. He discovered something terrible– Jiang Jiang couldn’t return.
Although Jiang Jiang worked in a barber shop, he had that door that cost him 5 million. As long as You Xi needed him, he could sense You Xi’s call at any moment and rush back to him.
But now, Jiang Jiang was silent. As if he was under house arrest, You Xi’s call for help was sent out, but he couldn’t receive any reply from Jiang Jiang.
You Xi tried to sort through his complicated thoughts, and it took three entire seconds before he spoke–
”
”
“It’s better to see for myself than to hear things from others. It can be assumed that you are Miss Hei Zhenzhu.7
When a solar eclipse occurs, it seems as if the sun is engulfed by a black pearl. Wouldn’t that mean that the saint of the Tun Ri Sect is just Miss Hei Zhenzhu, ma?8
Of course. It’s no wonder that Jiang Jiang was employed so smoothly, no wonder Zhou Yu deliberately approached him with game information as bait, and no wonder Zhou Yu didn’t resist after being captured by the skeletons!
Tricking others into coming to this divine tomb, what exactly did this woman want to do?
