"Everyone, please be kind to Ms. Klevana, who has started working at this library from today."

Happily, I was successfully hired as a staff member of the library. Since I had often visited the library after arriving in this town, I knew many of the staff members. For some reason, many people were looking at me with smiles, which surprised me.

I had never been welcomed with such smiles in my life.

Incidentally, Mr. Rusoa and the others arranged a place for me to live. I was only receiving help, and I felt nothing but gratitude.

"I am Klevana, and I have started working here from today. Please take care of me."

When I bowed, the people around me welcomed me with smiles.

It was all so strange. No one other than my daughter had ever welcomed me with such smiles. Even when people felt sorry for me, they would look troubled when I spoke to them. They knew that getting involved with me would bring them trouble.

"Ms. Klevana, you can use various languages, right? It's amazing that you can handle so many languages."

"Did you score high on that test?"

I didn't know how to react to the people who spoke to me like this. I decided to smile and accept it as written in the books. When I interact with someone and get stuck, I try to follow what is written in the books.

But I had only studied because I had the time. The results came from reading and learning, so I didn't really understand why people thought it was amazing. My daughter, Laureta, would say, "Mom, you're amazing," but...

But if these people knew I was Klevana Sinfogia, would they stop listening to me? I couldn't help but think that.

Many visitors from other countries come to this library. I was assigned to handle people who couldn't speak the language of this country, Slava, well. This was the first time I had actually spoken like this since the interview. I was glad that I could communicate effectively.

I was also entrusted with translation work. One of the roles of this place was to translate books stored in the library and send them to those who needed them. This was the first time I had done translation work as a job.

I had always just read books alone and translated them into different languages. I never thought that such solitary activities at home would lead to a job. Mr. Rusoa even said, "Reading, writing, and speaking perfectly, you're amazing."

I felt a strange sensation when I was praised. The more I worked hard, the more people praised me. Many people spoke to me at work.

I even made friends.

Zepia, who was at the reception when I first visited, invited me to various places.

"Never seen a play? Then let's go together."

I knew that my family enjoyed such things, but I had never seen a play. I always stayed home when my family went out. So, when Zepia invited me, it was strange. The play we saw together was enjoyable.

"Never had a favorite food? What kind of life have you had?"

I didn't really understand what a favorite food was. The food I ate, whether at home or after marriage, was basically what was given to me. When I cooked, I used leftovers, so I didn't have any special feelings about food.

Zepia said it was a waste and took me to try various foods. It was different from eating with my family at home or with my husband after marriage. It was more like the peaceful times I spent eating with Laureta. I was surprised by the joy of eating with a friend.

If I said Zepia was my first friend, I would be shocked again.

"Klevana, you really... lived in an unusual environment, didn't you?"

"Is that so?"

"Yes. It's unbelievable that no one wanted to be friends with someone as beautiful and capable as you!"

I don't think it's that much of a compliment.

I knew that I was considered good-looking by general standards because people around me said so. One of my ex-husband's subordinates even said, "She looks good, at least." That's why he warned my husband not to be swayed by a beautiful but evil wife. His subordinates thought I would bewitch my husband if I got too close. That's why, during our six-year marriage, the time we spent together was very short.

"Klevana, you are really beautiful. Your silver hair, as beautiful as silk, and your shimmering pale green eyes are all perfectly beautiful. Even with glasses, your beauty is not diminished."

"Thank you, Zepia."

I had never been complimented on my appearance so sincerely, except by my daughter. I rarely went out in public. Even when I did, it was only to people who knew the rumors about me, so their words were not pure.

Starting work was full of new experiences, and I felt a fresh sense of excitement.
