Wang Yuxi: “I really like the NVIDIA RTX 2080 ti! Any rich ladies out there willing me to keep me and buy me one?!”

Bai Yue: “There aren’t any. Next.”

The Titans were currently in a group WeChat voice call. Yao Sen was sitting on the chair in his room drinking coffee, idly chatting with his teammates.

Yao Sen: “What happened to that graphics card you bought before?”

“It’s natural to get an itch when you see hardware you like,” Wang Yuxi lamented. “Unfortunately, I don’t have the riches to throw money around just like that. I think the most likely way I’d get loaded overnight is by having a blind, overbearing CEO fall in love with me.”

Suddenly, Bai Yue asked, “Eh, Yao Sen, is Shao Han still at your house?”

Wang Yuxi bitterly said, “How can he not be there? Those two are making bedroom eyes at each other all day long.”

Apart from Zhou Ziyu, who’d long noticed that the captain had different thoughts about Vice Captain Shao and could vaguely detect it, the rest of the straight men in the group didn’t even think that Wang Yuxi’s statement contained anything worth looking into.

Just as Yao Sen was about to speak, Shao Han suddenly shouted from downstairs, “Yao Sen?”

Yao Sen got up and walked to the stairs, replying, “What’s wrong”

“I think Miao Miao wants to go out and play.”

“Okay, I’ll come right down.”

He then said to the group, “Yeah, we’re making bedroom eyes at each other all day. I’m gonna go walk my dog with Shao Han, talk to you guys later.”

Yao Sen quit the voice call and leisurely descended the stairs to fetch the dog leash, taking Miao Miao out with Shao Han and throwing the people in the group call into a brief moment of silence.

Half a day later, Bai Yue tentatively said, “Don’t you guys think that… those two are a little too close?”

Wang Yuxi deliberately covered things up a bit for Yao Sen, “Why? Aren’t the two of us also that close?”

Bai Yue: “……”

That night, as it was Shao Han’s last night here, Yao Sen broke discipline and didn’t sleep on time. The two of them lay down in bed and chatted until eleven past; Shao Han felt a little sleepy as they talked, his head sunk into the pillow, his gaze on Yao Sen narrowed, and his voice contained a trace of weariness.

Yao Sen: “Go to sleep if you’re sleepy.”

Shao Han nodded and habitually turned over to sleep with his back to Yao Sen—as he had trouble falling asleep if he was facing the other. As Shao Han was sleepy, he’d thought that he’d quickly fall asleep and sink into his dreams, yet as his consciousness floated between his dreams and reality, he felt a hand being thrown around his waist.

Yao Sen was fond of embracing his waist. In the past few days, Shao Han had also gotten used to sleeping like this, so his eyes remained shut. This time, however, Yao Sen’s palm slowly stroked his tummy, and through the thin fabric of his pajamas, Shao Han could feel the heat of his palm.

Shao Han’s sleepiness prevailed nevertheless. Yao Sen’s palm was like a heating pad on a winter night.

Yet the slow and gentle caress of his palm stopped; replaced by fingers suddenly lifting the hem of Shao Han’s clothes and slipping inside. Shao Han froze; his sleepiness immediately disappeared without a trace.

Shao Han caught Yao Sen’s wrist, and his throat was hoarse from the remnants of sleep as he said, “…what are you doing?”

Yao Sen snuggled up to him and softly chuckled in Shao Han’s ear. “…Scratching an itch.”

He gently struggled free from Shao Han’s grip and pressed close to him, his palm burrowing into Shao Han’s clothes. Shao Han’s breathing quickened sharply. Flustered, he tried to stop Yao Sen in a panic, but Yao Sen’s hand directly lifted Shao Han’s pajamas, then reached through his collar to lightly pinch at Shao Han’s chin.

Before Shao Han could speak, Yao Sen twisted his chin around for a kiss. Yao Sen’s arm was plastered across Shao Han’s chest, and he clearly sensed Shao Han’s violent heartbeat. The room was unlit, but the light that escaped through a gap in the curtains cast a white ray on Shao Han’s shoulder, his skin like newly glazed porcelain.

As Yao Sen kissed him, he let go of Shao Han’s chin and brought Shao Han into his arms again from behind. Shao Han was gently clutching at the bed sheets, his cheeks made scarlet from the sudden fervent kiss. His back was pressed against Yao Sen’s chest, heart beating like a drum.

“Yao Sen…” His voice trembled, “What do you want to do?”

Shao Han’s timbre was cool, but Yao Sen’s voice in his ear was like a handful of dry firewood being thrown into a blazing flame. His heart caught fire, and it was burning so fast that there was no extinguishing the blaze.

Yao Sen replied in a low voice, “Let me touch you.”

Before Shao Han could reply, Yao Sen said, “Be good, stay still.”

Yao Sen’s deep voice echoed in Shao Han’s ear. Shao Han trembled from head to toe, the tips of his ears dyed red. A tingling sensation crept up his spine.

Yao Sen’s hand moved to Shao Han’s waistband. His fingers peeled the obstructing fabric and probed inside. Shao Han shivered violently and grasped Yao Sen’s arm.

Yao Sen pressed a shallow kiss to Shao Han’s cheek and whispered something by Shao Han’s ear, his hands never stopping for even a moment. Shao Han buried his face into the pillow, and his cheeks were heated by his own rough breathing. His increasingly urgent and disorderly breaths were scattered with faint, soft moans.

Yao Sen soothed him, effortlessly controlling the rhythm of Shao Han’s breathing. His other hand was intertwined with Shao Han’s, and from time to time, he felt sudden bursts of Shao Han squeezing his fingers. Shao Han was restraining himself from making a sound, and Yao Sen didn’t pressure him to, either—he merely ignited Shao Han’s pleasure, slow but sure. He softly asked, “Darling, spread your legs a little, okay?”

Shao Han’s eyes were watery. With Yao Sen’s hand in a vice-like grip, Shao Han’s first reaction upon hearing those words was to bite into Yao Sen’s priceless hands. And yet his body was under Yao Sen’s control, his mind hazy with pleasure at the repeated strokes. Thinking that this was their final night together, he might as well acquiesce, and he thus relaxed his tense legs.

Yao Sen’s gaze grew darker and darker, and his voice was somewhat hoarse. “…Kiss me.”

Shao Han hadn’t expected Yao Sen’s aggressiveness when it came to matters like these to be so intense—so intense that he was simply unable to refuse him. His legs quivered, and he turned his head to kiss Yao Sen.

After the high, Shao Han whimpered and gasped as he nestled into the covers. Yao Sen pulled his hand out, yet Shao Han suddenly grabbed onto it and glared at him, his red eyes tinged with shame and anger.

Yao Sen blinked innocently—the personification of a wolf putting his sheep’s clothing back on.

Shao Han grabbed some tissues from the bedside cabinet, meticulously wiped Yao Sen’s fingers clean, chucked the soiled tissues under the bed in a huff, and flung Yao Sen’s hand back with his head covered.

Yao Sen let out a slightly guilty cough, aware that his image in Shao Han’s head had gone through an irreversible change. He turned over and got ready for bed, forgoing a trip to the bathroom to take care of himself. That part of him felt like it was about to lose all semblance of control and blast off.

Yet Shao Han suddenly tugged at him with his cool palm and pulled Yao Sen back.

Shao Han only exposed one fair, trembling arm. His face was still buried under the blankets, but his exposed ear was very clearly red. Without looking at Yao Sen—voice muffled—he said, “…I’ll do it.”

Yao Sen was struck dumb, the corners of his mouth faintly lifted. “Really?”

Shao Han didn’t say a word, his left-hand poised to reach into Yao Sen’s strained pants. Yao Sen caught his hand, sounding unexpectedly hesitant. “Shao Han wait. Let’s talk about it first.”

Shao Han was already so embarrassed that he wanted to disappear after offering to help Yao Sen out—and Yao Sen still wanted to stop him at such a critical juncture? Both ashamed and angry, he said, “What now!”

“Can you not use your left hand?” Yao Sen said with a wry smile. “I’m worried I’ll only remember this whenever I see you play in the future. Would I still be on my best then?”

Shao Han absolutely never imagined that Yao Sen’s thoughts would even stray there. He himself hadn’t felt anything at first, yet when Yao Sen said so, he felt like he’d lost all face. Shao Han’s ears pinked, blaming Yao Sen for everything, and all at once, he stuffed all his shame to the back of his mind, sat up, and bit out, “Just deal with it.”

“……” Throat dry, Yao Sen swallowed a mouthful of saliva. “Okay.”

Shao Han reached into Yao Sen’s pants, and was stumped the instant he touched him. After a moment’s hesitation, he stiffly moved his hand. He bowed his head, not knowing what flitted through his mind, his eyes shaking, eyelashes fluttering, ears all red with sweat.

Yao Sen breathed slowly—suppressing the laughter in his heart—and took Shao Han into his arms in one fell swoop and whispered something by his ear. Shao Han looked away wordlessly, his lips pursed.

Yao Sen: “Want to use two hands… Ack—I was wrong, I was wrong, not so tight please.”

By the time the two of them were thoroughly finished and had cleaned up the mess on their bodies, it was already 1 a.m. Yao Sen fell asleep wholly refreshed, and his sleep quality notably improved as he slept all the way until dawn.

Thinking of last night’s incident made Shao Han not want to look Yao Sen in the eye; his words also carried the cold implication of ‘Don’t come near me’. Aware that he was being given the cold shoulder, Yao Sen depended on Miao Miao’s entire existence and carried him to the sofa in an attempt to utilize Miao Miao to entice Shao Han.

As it turned out, raising dogs really did come in handy, and in the end, Shao Han caved at Miao Miao’s authentic puppy eyes and sat down to brush Miao Miao’s fur.

In the afternoon, Yao Sen and Miao Miao sent Shao Han to the high-speed rail station. It was only after he saw Shao Han enter the station that he reluctantly returned to his car. He stroked Miao Miao’s head—the dog in question lying on the copilot seat and looking out the window.

After seeing his boyfriend off, Yao Sen immediately recalled the fact that he’d snubbed his own brothers for so long already. That very night, Yao Sen initiated a round of conversation in the group chat.

Yao Sen: Friends, AD tonight?

Bai Yue: Let’s

Song Mingzhe: Sure

Zhou Ziyu: [OK]

Wang Yuxi: [Evil Fairy Queen Glaring Daggers.jpg]

Wang Yuxi: Has Shao ge left yet

Yao Sen: Yup

Wang Yuxi: Ah, men

Wang Yuxi: Bros, I strongly propose a four player team queue tonight. Kick Yao Sen out.

As it turned out, the only one who agreed to this proposal was Wang Yuxi alone.

Yao Sen’s parents returned the next day, and with only three days left until the Lunar New Year, Yao Sen’s life reverted to a time of visiting his friends and relatives and dealing with the little brats who came over to play.

Miao Miao didn’t like strangers visiting their home—with Shao Han as an exception—and every time someone came over, he would squat at the doorway and bark in a small voice. After seeing so many people, Miao Miao could no longer stand it, and he scampered off to hide in his kennel.

A few of his little six or seven year old cousins—an age Miao Miao resented in children—barged into Yao Sen’s room to play with his triple-screen computer, each of them with snacks and drinks in their small, crumb-coated hands.

Yao Sen’s fake smile was stretched to the limit as he cast a look at his mother, his eyes crying for help.

Mama Yao very much understood her son’s thoughts, and she smiled at her nieces and nephews’ parents as she casually talked about the price of her son’s computer and its additional accessories. The grownups promptly dragged their little brats back one by one upon hearing her, and Yao Sen’s computer was successfully rescued from the flaming pits of hell.

Yao Sen’s second aunt and cousin sat to one side. His cousin was currently in junior high school, and his grades were unlikely to come back from the dead. He played games all day long, and had always told his parents that he was following his cousin’s footsteps into the world of professional e-sports in the future.

At first, his second aunt’s family didn’t take this child’s excuse to ignore his studies seriously, but after several years of Yao Sen’s parent’s influence, they had recently begun to earnestly consider this possibility.

Faced with this aspiring cousin of his, Yao Sen was naturally supportive. At the same time, he was too embarrassed to say that it was unlikely for him to make it based on his past experiences of gaming with his little cousin. Of course, it wasn’t that there was no chance at all. After all, nothing is impossible for those who work hard.

Second Aunt yelled, “Xiao Sen, when are you going back?”

“On the twenty-fifth.”

“Ah, do you guys have a match coming up?” She asked, “Have you been busy with training recently?”

Back when Yao Sen was still in school, his aunt was also constantly asking “Do you have exams coming up? Have you been busy with studying recently?”, and her tone of voice was exactly the same.

Yao Sen replied, “Not much, I’m not all that busy.”

His second aunt’s husband also came over and asked, “How many hours do you train per day?”

“Usually eight hours, but the main team and the youth training team train for a little longer. There’s also extra training before a match.”

Upon hearing the words “eight hours”, his cousin’s eyes shone. His second aunt cast a glance at him, hating that he’s shirked every single one of her expectations. She continued, “What is the recruitment process for these clubs?”

“I believe there are usually two ways if you go the club’s youth trainee route. The first way is to sign up to a professional youth e-sports training centre—the decent ones in the country are Xingjia and Bangrui. Generally, you’ll train there for around one or two years, gain experience, and wait for a club to throw an olive branch. I have a few teammates who came up like this.”

Yao Sen earnestly explained to his cousin’s eager family, “The second way is a little quicker, that is, to attain a relatively good ranking in a youth e-sports competition, or to have a good ranking in the regional server in terms of accumulated points, which is generally what the club initially considers. After joining a club, just train according to the club’s internal selection rules. After the youth training team is the youth preparation team, followed by the third team, the second team, the main team’s substitute, and finally, the main team’s official member.”

After his second aunt heard everything, she patted Yao Sen’s hand, and cordially said, “Xiao Sen, why don’t you see if you can help your little brother get in touch with your club? Let your little brother go there and try? If he’s good, just let him stay. Won’t this save us the trouble of those sign ups and those competitions and whatnot?”
