Shao Han stared at Yao Sen. His eyelashes lowered soon after, and he didn’t speak for quite a while.

Maybe it was because Yao Sen’s appearance and manner were so full of charm that when Shao Han first saw him, he felt that Yao Sen’s entire body was shrouded with an abundant romantic aura–

an aura of an experienced veteran in the matters of the heart.

As Shao Han’s mind continued to ponder over these complex thoughts, Yao Sen stopped pursuing this topic. He said goodnight and went back to his dorm.

Seeing Yao Sen’s return, Wang Yuxi, who was sitting on the top bunk eating snacks said, “Yao Sen, Coach Gou asked you to go over and train the youth training team tomorrow.”

Yao Sen: “Why is it me again? Get Old Song and Bai Yue to go.”

“Didn’t you say that you’re their dream? If you don’t go, they’ll become useless corpses who’ve lost that dream,” Wang Yuxi said. “Also, this is Lao-Gou talking. You dare not to go?”

Coach Gou was Titans Club’s ace coach. He had coached them for 6 years, and his words on matters were set in stone. Now that Coach Gou has opened his mouth, Yao Sen knew that he definitely had to make this trip.

Early the next morning, Yao Sen took a bus to the club where the youth training team was staying. Recently, Titans’s youth training team were in pretty good shape, and even the coach who had a face that looked like he owed others 8 million yuan for ten thousand years gave a rare compliment.

After the training match, Coach Gou singled out Yao Sen, wanting to talk to him about the domestic competition.

Coach Gou handed Yao Sen a list and said, “The domestic competition’s groups list are out. Have a look.”

Yao Sen carefully skimmed over the list. The domestic competition had always divided groups in a semi-ranked and semi-drawn way, and the overall situation of the groups were not too different from his expectations.

Additionally, it wasn’t unexpected that Team Noah’s Ark and Team Cobra would be bumping heads right from the start, though in recent years, Noah’s rank had not surpassed Cobra’s, and he feared that it may not be likely for Shao Han and his team to win.

“Pay attention to this competition and observe properly,” Coach Gou said. “Team Cobra’s No. 3 Shen You is a strong support and all-rounder and his hit rate is also pretty good. This guy isn’t easy to deal with, so be careful when you encounter him in the future.”

“Okay, no problem.”

Yao Sen had a faint memory of this name and it was probably from seeing him in previous competitions. Looking up the name ‘Shen You’ on his phone, he found that Shen You was Cobra’s main team’s vice captain and also ranked in the top 10 of the Asia server.

Yao Sen then flipped to the group list’s attachment which showed the names and group numbers of the contestants of each team. Yao Sen subconsciously tried to find Noah’s Ark, pausing in slight surprise as he finally found it.

Shao Han’s name was unexpectedly not included in the list of Noah’s Ark players who would take part in the domestic competition.

That very night, a very distressed Yao Sen went back to the club and sent a message to Shao Han.

Yao Sen: I saw the domestic competition group’s participants lists. You won’t be playing?

Shao Han: Our team’s substitute player hasn’t officially played yet, and we’re afraid that when the WCAD comes, the substitute won’t be ready if something goes wrong with the regular players, so he’s replacing me.

Shao Han not participating in the competition was something that Yao Sen never anticipated. When he thought about not being able to watch Shao Han compete live, he felt that it was really regrettable.

At present, it was already the last week before the domestic competition, and the Titans main team’s members took turns to visit the youth training team and cheer for the group of children.

Ever since he watched Shao Han’s live broadcast, Yao Sen also became slightly interested in amateur players’ live broadcasts, recently taking the time to watch a few of them. Although the majority of amateur live broadcasts played skills matches, the current amateur players’ techniques weren’t as bad as he thought it’d be, and there were a lot of decently skilled people among them.

After the current members of the youth training team came out of obscurity, Yao Sen pondered whether Titans might possibly try to seek talents from these anchors next time.

At noon that day, Yao Sen went to the dining hall after he finished training to have lunch. As soon as he received his meal and sat down with his teammates, he caught sight of Shao Han sitting not far away, an unfamiliar young lady sitting in front of him.

The girl’s back was turned to them as she chatted excitedly with Shao Han. Shao Han’s expression was more gentle than ever, with a smile in his eyes from time to time, and occasionally passing the dishes in his bowl to the other party.

Yao Sen’s heart thumped and load alarm bells suddenly filled his head: “Who is that?”

“Don’t know, someone else’s girlfriend, probably,” Wang Yuxi said without much thought. “Other people all have cute girlfriends to console them, yet I can only face you rough old men all day long.”

Yao Sen stared at the two people. The young lady wore a sweet, slim-fitting dress, and she was small and delicate, with slightly curly hair that looked fluffy and cute.

Yao Sen gazed at the girl’s back then lowered his head and drank a mouthful of soup.

Wang Yuxi frowned: “Hmm? Why does it smell like vinegar in here?”

Yao Sen choked and coughed twice: “……”

Bai Yue: “Oh, I added vinegar to my beef noodles.”

“Why did you add so much? Isn’t it sour? “

“It’s not sour, it’s appetizing.”

The racket on their side drew the attention of the two people next to them, and as the girl turned to look their way, her gaze fell on Yao Sen, her eyes lighting up abruptly.

The girl promptly stood up and ran over, leaning towards Yao Sen, her cheeks flushed with excitement: “God Sen! It’s you right, God Sen?! Oh my god it’s really you! You’re handsomer than you are on TV! “

Yao Sen’s entire table was startled. Only then did he look carefully at the girl. She was cute and pretty, her skin delicate and white, and her eyebrows were long and thin–upon closer inspection, she actually looked very much like Shao Han.

Yao Sen immediately realized that this lively girl should be Shao Han’s little sister. At the thought of this, his body relaxed before he knew it, and his previous melancholy was swept away.

Yao Sen looked up at Shao Han, who followed behind her, and said, “Your little sister?”

Shao Han nodded, bringing his carefree sister over as he shot a helpless glance at her. “She’s your fan.”

“Hello God Shen. My name is Shao Meng!” Shao Meng broke away from her brother’s arm and excitedly grabbed Yao Sen’s hand, shaking it up and down. “I came to see my brother today but he didn’t even tell me that he was in a club with God Sen. He’s such a fake brother!”

Yao Sen smiled and said, “Don’t blame your brother, he’s usually working hard training.”

Shao Meng fished out a pen and paper from her bag. “God Sen, please give me your autograph and take a picture with me. I really really super duper like you! You don’t know how many times I’ve watched the video of you winning the Asia Championship last year. I’ve almost memorised the commentator’s words!”

Wang Yuxi and Bai Yue could only watch with both envy and jealousy as Yao Sen caught a cute sister fan, their hearts bursting with intense complaints at heaven’s injustice. Song Mingzhe, on the other hand, had nothing but peace of mind, becoming more and more convinced of the charm of his family’s boss.

After the autograph was signed and the picture taken, Shao Han had a slight headache at the sight of Shao Meng who still refused to let Yao Sen go. “You have to go back soon,” Shao Han persuaded. “Yao Sen’s team has to train again in a little while, don’t bother others’ training.”

Shao Meng, broken-hearted at having to part with Yao Sen, shot her idol a quick look then said to Shao Han, “Okay… I’ll go back first then ge. Mom asked me to tell you that you have to remember to eat properly. If you lose weight the next time you go home, she’ll get grandma to deal with you.”

Shao Han’s face appeared somewhat mortified, his lips curling down slightly. This small, rare show of emotion warmed Yao Sen’s heart.

Shao Han led his sister out. “Got it. Pay attention and be careful on the way back. If you take a taxi, tell me the license plate number and text me when you get home.”

“Mm. Bye-bye ge, bye-bye God Sen. Jiayou!”

After seeing his sister off, Shao Han was still a little embarrassed as he said, “Xiao Meng has always been quite sociable. She’s adored you for a long time and was really excited to see you. Please don’t mind her.”

Yao Sen chuckled and said, “It’s okay, she’s cute.”

As cute as her brother.

Shao Han told them that he had to train the youth training team early that day, so he said goodbye to everyone.

In the afternoon two days before the start of the domestic competition, Noah’s Ark prepared to leave for the organiser’s hotel of the professional e-sports stadium in A City, while the youth training team players had to go to the venue in advance to familiarize themselves with the environment.

The Titans club planned to go the night before the start of the matches. He said goodbye to Shao Han as the other party sent him off.

The number of participants in the domestic competition had reached an all-time high, and when they arrived in A City, a brief introduction of the event was displayed on billboards and looped in LED screens all over the street.

There were a lot of sellers around the stadium offering official competition souvenirs and shops selling various esports teams merchandise. Yao Sen tidied up his things in the hotel before going out for a stroll.

The competition will officially begin tomorrow. Esports enthusiasts who had come to watch the game were practically all here. Esports related industries were also at their peak season, and the shops selling esports merchandise were jam-packed with people.

Titans was a popular team, and although their merchandise wasn’t cheap, their sales still flourished. Yao Sen even found a cup with his autograph and team logo in one of the stores.

In fact, the cup was a very ordinary mug that could change colours, but seeing so many people buying it made Yao Sen act rashly, and in the end he simply paid for one.

When he returned to the hotel, he took a picture of the mug and posted on Weibo.

@Titans_ Sen: I visited a merchandise store today and bought one at random. I think Titans merch is really a little expensive. What do you all think?

[God Sen, how narcissistic are you that you even bought your own signed merch?]

[It’s because everyone loves you, otherwise who would wanna buy such an ugly cup]

[hahahahahaha why are you telling the truth!]

[This is the first time I’m seeing someone roast how expensive their own things are [doge]]

[Merch sellers: begging you to shut up and go play games!!]

[Sen ge, watch out or they’ll confiscate your phone [doge]]

Yao Sen thought for a moment, then opened Wechat and sent Shao Han a message: Do you want a cup? It’s our team’s merch and it has my autograph on it

Shao Han: Thank you. Xiao Meng should like it very much. Can I give it to her as a present?

Yao Sen: Of course you can. I saw that your team is also staying at the organiser’s hotel. I’ll send it to wherever you’re at

Shao Han: Whenever’s convenient for you is fine

Yao Sen: I happen to be going out for a midnight snack with my team in half an hour. I’ll wait for you in the lobby

Half an hour later, Yao Sen went down to the hotel lobby with the mug. Shao Han was already waiting in the lobby.

The two had just met up when several men in silver uniforms walked in through the hotel doors, talking and laughing all the while. Yao Sen turned his head to follow the sound and caught a glimpse of the distinctive pattern printed on their uniforms–

Cobra.
