"Mr. Muhammad, your command is truly excellent." On the rugged mountain path, Faisal kept praising Muhammad: "Actually, when I decided to stay, I was already prepared to sacrifice myself. But you, you led us to a safe retreat and inflicted a heavy blow on the Soviets."

This was the first time Faisal had witnessed Muhammad's outstanding command, and he was very excited. Although he was prepared to sacrifice himself, he was naturally even more delighted to be able to return alive.

"Hurry up." Muhammad said, "The danger hasn't passed yet."

The rockets left behind could delay the Soviets for about ten minutes, but they would still catch up. Moreover, it was about to dawn, and with the dawn, those terrifying Mi-24s began to circle overhead.

Muhammad had left the rockets behind with the Duranis but took all the Stinger missiles. Now, he had no way to deal with those Mi-24s.

Run! The only chance for survival was to run away in a short time! Muhammad sprinted down the mountain path.

On the other side of the mountain pass, a large group of Soviet soldiers had already emerged.

The morning sun illuminated the mountains and the few rapidly running figures on the hillside.

"Turn left ahead, and we can meet up with Mr. Masood." Faisal said to Muhammad as they ran.

Ahead was a fork in the road. Without hesitation, Muhammad said, "Let's go right."

Right? Hearing Muhammad's words, Faisal was stunned. That way was a cliff!

The Soviets arrived faster than he had expected. If they directly joined Masood, they would lead a large group of Soviet soldiers to him. Although Muhammad knew that changing direction would bring more danger, they had no other choice.

"Rumble, rumble." At that moment, two Mi-24s appeared overhead, flying low from the other side of the valley.

Muhammad led the way, and a dozen people quickly ran to the right.

"Mr. Muhammad, this is a dead end." Faisal said to Muhammad, "The road ends at a cliff."

"We are on a dead end." Muhammad said, his voice full of coldness.

Thus, Faisal no longer hesitated and followed Muhammad, sprinting down the mountain path.

"Target spotted." In the cockpit of a Mi-24, the weapons operator in the low front cabin said to the pilot in the back, "At three o'clock, on the hillside, they are fleeing."

"Understood." The pilot pressed the control stick to the left, and the Mi-24 began to turn, flying towards the fleeing guerrillas.

"Machine gun ready." The pilot said, unlocking the weapon.

Under the short wings of the Mi-24, rocket pods were hanging. These weapons were operated by the weapons operator in the front cabin, while the pilot controlled the machine gun at the front. The two worked closely together.

On the rotating turret at the front, a 12.7mm four-barreled Gatling gun began to spin. The dark muzzle pointed at the target ahead.

"Rat-tat-tat, rat-tat-tat..." The pilot pressed the trigger button, and immediately, the four-barreled Gatling gun spun, and countless bullets rained down on the guerrillas like a storm. The electric motor, the sound of bullets, and the roar of the engine mixed into a loud symphony.

"Duck!" Muhammad shouted. Hearing the helicopter getting closer, Muhammad knew it was about to attack. When the bullets rained down, they had just reached a mountain hollow and hid there, not daring to show their heads.

The Gatling gun's pride was its rate of fire. A four-barreled Gatling gun was like four machine guns firing together, and the bullets rained down, plowing the entire hillside.

"Mr. Muhammad, what do we do?" Faisal asked Muhammad.

Being pinned down by the helicopter's machine gun was very dangerous. When the helicopter realized the machine gun couldn't threaten them, it would use the rockets on its wings. If the mountain hollow was hit by rockets, everyone would be turned into minced meat.

Muhammad gritted his teeth, listening to the gunfire outside. Damn, if only he had a Stinger!

The rumbling sound faded away, and Muhammad looked up to see a large group of Soviets following behind. Another helicopter was hovering in the distance, and the rockets under its wings were about to be launched.

There was no time to hesitate. Muhammad grabbed the headscarf from Faisal's head, unfurled it, and waved it with his hand, standing up from the hidden mountain hollow.

"Soviet friends, don't shoot, we surrender!" Muhammad shouted loudly.

Faisal felt the tall image of Muhammad in his heart crumble. Surrender... How could Mr. Muhammad surrender!

There was no other choice. If they didn't surrender, the hovering Mi-24 would rain rockets on them, and no one would escape.

"Mr. Muhammad, we will never surrender!" Faisal said from behind, his gun already raised, aiming at Muhammad's back, ready to shoot him at any moment.

"Idiot, if you want to continue fighting the Soviets, listen to me!" Muhammad whispered, "If you want to die, kill me."

After saying that, Muhammad continued to shout to the opposite side, "We surrender!"

If Kurnaeva were here, she would immediately recognize Muhammad's scheme. Surrender? How could the mujahideen surrender? They had firm beliefs and were not afraid of death. For them, death was just a passage to another world, and their souls would be elevated in that world.

Now, Muhammad was surrendering, but even he himself was not confident that the other side would accept his surrender. If their goal was to completely eliminate them, they would have no chance of survival.

The Mi-24 helicopter continued to hover. As soon as smoke appeared on the wing racks, Muhammad would have to run back immediately, regardless of everything.

The helicopter continued to hover, and the rotor blades stirred the air, making a whirring sound. The Soviet soldiers, like a tide, were quickly running over to surround them.

"Drop your guns." The Soviet soldiers shouted from a distance.

Muhammad slowly unslung his gun, then reached out and pulled the magazine out with a clatter, throwing it on the ground. He then raised the gun high above his head.

When Muhammad picked up the gun, the approaching Soviet soldiers clearly tensed up, but when they saw him remove the magazine, they immediately smiled.

"Everyone, remove the magazines and raise your guns above your heads!" The Soviet soldiers swarmed around Muhammad and the people behind him.

Faisal glared at Muhammad, removed the magazine from his AK-74, and raised the gun high above his head.

The Soviets surrounded them more and more, at least a company had arrived, and more Soviets were still coming from the valley.

"Where are the other guerrillas?" A Soviet company commander walked up to Muhammad and asked, "Where are they?"

"In another valley, waiting to join us. I can lead you there." Muhammad said.

"Then let's go!" The Soviet company commander shouted, and two Soviet soldiers came forward to take Muhammad into custody.

"Act!" Muhammad shouted.

As he said this, Muhammad swung his AKM rifle horizontally, using all his strength to smash the butt into the chest of a nearby Soviet soldier.

The wooden butt struck the soldier's chest, and he immediately spat out a mouthful of blood, screaming and falling backward.

Then, Muhammad swung the butt horizontally into the head of the next Soviet soldier. Despite the helmet, the soldier was knocked unconscious by the blow, and blood flowed from under the helmet.

"Rat-tat-tat." At that moment, the Soviet soldiers guarding them immediately pulled the triggers, and several bullets hit Muhammad's back.

The massive impact propelled Muhammad forward, and he took two steps, catching up to the Soviet company commander. He swung the rifle across the commander's neck, tightly choking him.

The moment Muhammad shouted "act," the guerrillas who had fought with him many times immediately reacted, fiercely pouncing on the nearest Soviets.

Most of the Soviets did not fire, as the close range made it easy for stray bullets to hit their own. A few nervous Soviet soldiers involuntarily pulled the triggers, and bullets flew towards the guerrillas.

"Rat-tat, rat-tat-tat." As the bullets hit, the guerrillas were pushed back, but as soon as the gunfire stopped, they seemed fearless, fiercely pouncing on the Soviets.

How could this be! The Soviets who had already fired were shocked. The bullets couldn't kill these guerrillas! They immediately recalled a legend, according to which these guerrillas had some ancient magic that made them invulnerable to bullets!

Only one guerrilla was hit, his arm weakly waving the rifle before finally falling down.

Faisal, seeing another guerrilla he had brought being killed, his eyes were filled with rage, and all he saw were the hateful Soviets!

Kill these Soviets! Faisal swung the body of his AK-74 at the nearest Soviet.

The Soviet turned his own AK-74 horizontally, using the rifle to block Faisal's butt, and a loud collision made his hand numb.

"Bang!" Faisal swung again, and this time, the other side could no longer hold the rifle. His left hand loosened, and he let go of the foregrip, his eyes filled with the image of Faisal's swinging butt. (To be continued...)
