PS: Thank you to my good friend 1993 Sarajevo for the generous tip! I will add two more chapters, the most intense battle!

Thank you to the loyal supporters, and to the flying little fairies, taodafu2008, and the friends like Ant Kills Man for their valuable monthly votes!

In the Afghan mountainous areas, the roads are difficult to travel, so there is no power supply in the mountains. The power lines cannot be set up on the high mountains, and the cost is too high. As a command center, a large amount of electricity is needed, so a power generation vehicle is used here to generate electricity.

The bright lights here contrast sharply with the rest of the area, making it easy to determine that this is the command center.

In the darkness, Muhammad made a gesture to his subordinates, and they quietly squatted there, waiting.

Muhammad and Faisal slowly approached from the corner of the wall. The command center was guarded by about a platoon of troops. The outer defenses were already very tight, and the area here was not large, so too many people would not even have room to stand.

The most guards were at the main gate, while only two sentries were stationed next to the power generation vehicle. These two sentries were holding their guns, heads down, their helmets covering their heads.

They were indeed sleeping! Muhammad slowly walked over from the dark wall.

Step by step, Muhammad and Faisal suddenly darted forward, hiding behind the power generation vehicle, then slowly approached the two Soviet soldiers.

Holding a shiny military knife, Muhammad slowly extended his left hand from behind and suddenly covered the mouth of the tall Soviet soldier. The soldier suddenly woke up and was about to struggle when he felt a pain in his chest.

Muhammad's right hand had already plunged the military knife into his chest. As the knife pierced, the soldier's throat made a gurgling sound. Then, Muhammad turned his right hand, and the military knife tore a large hole in the soldier's chest.

The soldier's body went limp, and Muhammad dragged him with his arm, pulling him into the shadow of the power generation vehicle.

Faisal also quickly and cleanly eliminated the other sentry. He watched as Muhammad quickly jumped onto the power generation vehicle.

A high-power diesel engine was driving a three-phase generator. Looking at the four thick output wires on the generator—three live wires and one neutral wire—Muhammad had a new idea.

Originally, he planned to destroy the generator and cut off the power, but now Muhammad had a better choice. He pulled the thinnest wire, which was not very firmly connected, and with a tug, it came loose. Then, he connected it to a nearby terminal.

The three-phase generator has three thick wires as live wires and one thin wire as the neutral wire. The voltage between two live wires is 380 volts, and the voltage between a live wire and the neutral wire is 220 volts. Users use 220 volts, which is one live wire and one neutral wire. Now, Muhammad forcibly connected the neutral wire to the live wire, changing the voltage for the users.

Inside the command center, a 200-watt light bulb hung from the ceiling, illuminating the room brightly. A row of radios was working in a tense and orderly manner.

Suddenly, the light bulb went dark, and the sudden darkness made everyone uncomfortable. They almost instinctively turned their heads to look at the light bulb on the ceiling.

The light bulb suddenly brightened again, and this brightness exceeded the previous level for a moment. Then, with a "pop," the light bulb made a light sound.

Countless glass fragments flew from the position of the light bulb, and several Soviet soldiers who were closest to it immediately screamed in pain.

The light bulb uses a 220-volt power supply. When the voltage exceeds 250 volts, the filament will instantly burn out. When it exceeds 300 volts, the hot tungsten filament will melt and drip onto the glass at the bottom of the bulb, making a hissing sound and burning a hole in the glass. When it exceeds 350 volts, the accumulated heat will turn the bulb into a bomb, and the glass will instantly shatter and fly in all directions. Although the power is not as strong as a hand grenade, this sudden situation can catch people off guard.

At the same time, the radios began to smoke.

"Logistics soldiers!" Kurikov shouted. "Power failure, quickly restore the power supply."

In that moment, Kurikov knew there was a problem with the power supply system. This was a power accident caused by unstable voltage from the generator. As he shouted, two technical soldiers in the room ran out.

"Ratta-tat-tat." At this moment, gunshots were heard from outside.

After Muhammad used the generator to destroy the power equipment, he jumped off the power generation vehicle and pulled the trigger.

With the gunshots, the two Soviet soldiers on guard on the roof were immediately hit and fell down.

The gunshots were the signal. In the darkness, Osama picked up his AKM rifle and pulled the trigger at the Soviet soldiers on guard opposite.

Bullets rained down like a storm, and the unprepared Soviet sentries were immediately hit and fell, screaming.

The Soviet machine gunner on the roof reacted and crouched down, pulling the bolt. His machine gun made a "ratta-tat-tat" sound, and a burst of bullets swept towards Osama and his group.

Suddenly, his body trembled, and a hole appeared in his head. His machine gun fell from his hand.

On a distant civilian building, Khwaja continued to aim and shoot at the next target. To him, these Soviet soldiers were lambs waiting to be slaughtered.

One shot after another, the Soviet soldiers under attack in the darkness did not realize that there was a sniper far away, continuously taking their lives.

After eliminating the machine gunner, the pressure on the guerrillas was immediately reduced. Osama and his group rushed out from their hiding places and quickly entered the courtyard.

Just as they jumped into the courtyard, Osama's body quickly retreated.

"Ratta-tat-tat." Flames spurted from the windows. The people inside immediately reacted and began to resist from the sturdy room. They only needed to hold out for a minute, or even just a few seconds, and Soviet soldiers would come from all directions upon hearing the gunshots.

The damned guerrillas actually infiltrated the town and attempted to ambush our command center! Hiding behind a sturdy brick wall, Kurikov calmly directed the battle.

The people inside were all command personnel, most of whom did not have weapons. Only a few had pistols, and the only automatic weapons were the AK-74s of the two guards. They hid behind the windows and continuously fired at the Afghan guerrillas who had jumped in.

Although they were ambushed, their reaction was so quick. After fighting for years in Afghanistan, the 108th Division had been well-trained.

The Soviet soldiers outside the town were quickly coming to their aid, and Osama and his group could already hear the chaotic footsteps in the distance.

"Hand grenade!" Osama shouted, taking out a hand grenade, pulling the pin, and throwing it inside.

With great accuracy, the hand grenade flew over the wall and rolled into the room through the window.

In the confined space, the explosion of the hand grenade would be more powerful, and the flying shrapnel would kill many inside.

Kurikov heard the "rattle" sound and looked down, immediately shocked.

"Hand grenade!" Kurikov shouted. "Take cover!"

The room was so small that there was nowhere to take cover without getting hurt. As Kurikov shouted and retreated, a radio operator ran up and covered the hand grenade with his body.

"Boom!" The hand grenade exploded, and the shrapnel pierced the radio operator's body. With the force of the explosion, his body was almost lifted half a meter into the air and then fell heavily to the ground.

"Kovich!" Kurikov shouted. If not for this young soldier, many people in the room would have fallen.

Kurikov's eyes turned blood red. He ran to the window and fired his pistol continuously at the outside.

The damned guerrillas! Kurikov was filled with rage.

"We can't break in, let's retreat!" Rameel shouted. "If we don't leave now, we'll be surrounded."

He did not expect the Soviet resistance to be so strong. Hearing the footsteps getting closer, Rameel began to feel anxious.

"Even if we all die, we must destroy the Soviet command center!" Hearing Rameel's suggestion to retreat, Osama immediately became serious. "For the jihad, we are not afraid of death! We will never be cowards!"

Muhammad, our instructor, taught us that only by protecting ourselves can we eliminate the enemy! Rameel wanted to say this but did not, as the people around him were giving him disdainful looks.

"For the jihad, charge in!" Osama said, raising his gun and preparing to charge through the door again, where bullets were flying.

"Vroom, vroom." At this moment, the sound of an engine roared from behind.

Turning around, they first saw the back of a truck, which was reversing at high speed. The driver was so reckless!

Seeing the truck's path, it was heading straight for them. If they did not move, they might be run over and crushed under the wheels.

As Osama was in a dilemma, a voice from the truck shouted, "Get in the truck!"

The voice was not in Russian but in pure Afghan. The guerrillas were delighted—it was Faisal!

"Quick, retreat!" At this moment, Osama did not insist. He only followed Muhammad's orders. Since Faisal was in the truck, the driver must be Muhammad!

The barefoot guerrillas ran quickly towards the truck, which had just come to a screeching stop.

At the street corner, a group of Soviet soldiers appeared. When they saw the situation, they immediately crouched down, forming a combat formation, and raised their AK-74 rifles to fire.

"Quick, open fire!" Muhammad's voice came from the cab.

"Understood." Faisal, sitting in the truck bed, smiled. In front of him was a twin 23mm anti-aircraft gun! (To be continued...)
