After the official start of the dinner, Tang Ran had been sitting alone in the corner of the balcony venue.

This area was especially for young people. The elders had nothing to talk about with these twenty something year olds and didn’t want to make things difficult for them. Thus, the Luo family arranged a separate buffet dinner venue for them on the most spacious terrace on the second floor of the main building.

The juniors of the influential families had friendships with each other, so they naturally sat together in groups of three or fours of their choise.

On such a large terrace, among the numerous juniors, it was probably only Tang Ran that was an exception.

After the gossip lovers had spread the news, those who had never heard of her now knew that she was the Tang family’s illegitimate daughter.

Since they came to the Luo family, there was no one who hadn’t heard that youngest master Luo was going to marry the eldest young miss of the Tang family…

Therefore, behind Tang Luoqian stood the whole Luo family. Naturally no one would dare risk offending Tang Luoqian by associating with Tang Ran.

So, all the juniors at the banquet were “tacitly cooperating” with Tang Luoqian to give this illegitimate daughter of the Tang family a cold shoulder.

The young girl was alone in the darkest corner of the party. The already thin figure almost blended into one with the darkness of the night. From others’ point of view, she honestly looked a bit pitiful.

Tang Ran was used to it.

Whether it was at home or outside, all the same. A blind person’s world, having some color was unthinkable. Naturally, enriching, fascinating, and lively were out of the question.

Only, the sole little problem was….

”Luoluo,” The little girl’s mouth was deflated, whispering to the AI in her phone, “I’m a little hungry.”

In the somewhat clamorous noise, Tang Ran put her ear to the phone and heard that lazy, cold voice with a bit of electrifying magnetism, replying to her in a half-smiling tone, “You’re being picky again, right?”

Tang Ran sighed and put down the phone, “I’m not. Luoluo, you’re so stupid.”

The AI laughed coldly, “Society, you, me, and them. Everyone depends on each other—think I would say that, hm? You’re the one who’s stupid.”

”……”

Even though she’d heard this reply many times, Tang Ran couldn’t help but curl the corners of her mouth.

But soon she couldn’t laugh anymore, and rubbed her stomach with a bitter little face—

After taking a shower and changing clothes in the annex building and eating a little refreshments at noon, Tang Ran hadn’t touch any other food this day. There was a buffet banquet this evening, and without the familiar dining environment at home, Tang Ran didn’t have the heart to ask the Luo family’s servants to help her out.

Tang Ran was a little embarrassed to hear her stomach making it known it was empty. She hesitated. Thinking that no one would pay attention to her at the banquet, she secretly nestled into the sofa’s armrest.

Propping up her chin in the surrounding noisy environment for a while longer, the girl softly hummed a tune to distract herself.

AS the little girl was nestling into a lump, there was a man in the heart of the banquet, surrounded by the eyes of the crowd, with a frown much tenser than hers.

”Young master Luo,” The young man next to him couldn’t bear to watch and spoke hesitantly, “You’ve looked distracted all night, is your throat still uncomfortable?”

”……Mm.”

Luo Zhan responded perfunctorily, frowning as he withdrew his eyes.

He leaned forward to pick up the cup in front of him and brought it to his lips to take a sip, the fingers squeezing the cup tightened slightly. His eyes also drifted to a certain corner again.

The person next to him didn’t notice, “I see that eldest miss Tang at the next table has looked over several times. Young master Luo, why don’t you invite her over to sit-“

Without letting him finish, the cold-faced Luo Zhan finally couldn’t help himself after glancing again at the young girl’s hand unconsciously rubbing her stomach.

He frowned and put the cup in his hand on the table with a bang.

The movement startled the juniors in this small central area. Even the people in Tang Luoqian’s group the table over couldn’t help but look over.

”—Young master?” The maid who was close by was bewildered and scared witless. Quickly hurrying over, she wasn’t sure what had irritated the young master. “Are you unwell anywhere?”

”……”

Luo Zhan wrinkled his eyebrows and pressed down the words “can’t even take care of a guest”, saying in a cold voice: “I’m hungry.”

Servant: “?”

The servant cautiously turned their head back to make sure the banquet tables around were still filled with a sumptuous buffet spread, and then turned back with difficulty: “What does young master want to eat? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it immediately.”

Luo Zhan thought about it, “Milk.”

The banquet hall quieted down through this sentence. Luo Zhan self-consciously lowered his voice, afraid of being heard by the little girl in the corner.

The maid was even more dumbfounded, “Mi.. milk?”

”Hm.”

Young Master Luo’s tone was lazy and cold, adding without an expression:

”One cup for everyone, on me.”

Everyone: “……?”

Why did he want them to drink milk when he was hungry?

When everyone fell into a silence as they doubted life, a servant from the Luo family trotted into the terrace.

The man made a beeline for Luo Zhan’s table and stopped: “Young master, old sir wants you to go to the study.”

Luo Zhan frowned, still keeping his voice low, “Why am I going to the study?”

”Old sir didn’t say.”

”……” Luo Zhan frowned and got up.

He had just left the sofa when the servant added carefully, “Old sir also said, have young master bring the Tang’s family miss over with him.”

”.”

Luo Zhan’s eyes were cold.

This was heard by everyone and they subconsciously turned their heads to look at Tang Luoqian sitting at the next table.

Tang Luoqian was still frozen. Bi Yushan beside her pushed her once. She returned to her senses, her face flushing red. She promptly stood up and walked towards Luo Zhan.

Luo Zhan frowned.

He glanced coldly at the servant, “Does she not have legs or is it that you guys can’t even bring her yourselves?”

After saying that, he didn’t even look at Tang Luoqian who came over, about to leave straight away.

The servant hastily stopped him, “What the old sir said was for you to bring up the two young misses of the Tang family.”

”—”

Luo Zhan’s figure suddenly paused.

After a few seconds of dead silence, Luo Zhan slowly loosened his furrowed brows.

His eyes drifted towards the corner—

The little girl in the sofa didn’t hear him and was still nestled there, a small little shadow.

Luo Zhan shifted his line of sight. The cold expression faded cleanly from his clear, meaningful face.

”…. Mhm, got it.”
