Chapter 223: Enter 3 towns

Things were indeed as Chen Xin had expected. They marched all the way to the

three towns, and both inspection and defense became tighter.

The first checkpoint was located at the old highway toll station. Although Yan

Guo had already cancelled the tolls on ordinary national highways and

provincial highways, these toll stations built in the past were not completely

demolished, and now they just came in handy.

Compared with the checkpoint in Xianning, the inspection here is obviously

much more rigorous. It is not ordinary inspectors who came up to inspect, but

the police. Even Chen Xin accidentally saw a dog wrapped in a thick padded

jacket. police dog.

This was the only living animal that Chen Xin saw in the past six months,

except for breadworms, fish and mice.

Although he doesn't usually like pets like cats and dogs, Chen Xin suddenly

had the urge to slap dogs when he saw this police dog.

However, police dogs are police dogs in the end, and they have not acted like

coquettish and cute. As soon as they got into Chen Xin's car, they started

sniffing everywhere, searching for any suspicious dangerous or contraband.

However, Chen Xin's car was very clean. The only problem might be the pistol

on Zhang Chengguang.

But the space agency brand is really easy to use. Although the police who got

on the car checked very carefully, after knowing that they were members of the

space agency, they still behaved very politely and even asked them if they

needed help.

Chen Xin and Zhang Chengguang had already discussed it before, so they

naturally declined the help of the police.

After they checked the vehicle, Chen Xin drove on to the three towns.

In fact, in terms of administrative divisions, they have entered the scope of

the three towns, but they are still in the outer suburbs of the three towns,

and they have not entered the urban area.

As the only super large city in the central area of Yan State, the three

towns are also the central city in the central area of Yan State. The area

under their jurisdiction is naturally very vast.

In fact, even the name of the three towns is derived from the combination of

the three important towns in the city's central area.

These three important towns are geographical divisions formed by the division

of the Yangtze River and the Han River. In the past, they were always three

cities. It was not until the establishment of Yan State that the

administrative divisions of the three cities were brought together with the

development of the times. Has become the three towns of today.

Because of the developed water and land transportation, this city has been

known as the "Nine Provinces Thoroughfare" since ancient times. It is one of

the four gatherings in the world and the most important water, land and air

transportation hub in the central part of Yan State.

At the same time, the three towns are also the resident of the Yan Guo army

joint logistics support force, the core city of the Yangtze River Economic

Belt, the strategic fulcrum for the rise of the central region, and the

comprehensive innovation and reform experimental area. It is one of the three

major intelligence-intensive areas in the country, and it is a national

central city.

It can be said that it is precisely because of the three towns in the central

region that Yan Kingdom can still maintain the state's ability to control the

central region after the end of the disaster, and ensure the material supply

and logistical support of the central provinces and cities.

And all this undoubtedly made the difference between the three towns and

cities in other regions.

Compared to the city where Chen Xin is located, the roads in the three towns

are obviously much busier. You can see vehicles passing by from time to time

on the streets. The snow on the roads is also cleaned to a certain extent,

plus the constructions along the way. At the checkpoint, if it were not for

the dark sky and the ruined city on the ground and the craters that appeared

from time to time, Chen Xin really thought it was just the three towns in

winter.

But obviously, whether it is a stricter inspection or a dark city, all prove

that this is after the end.

However, the atmosphere of the three towns is obviously different, or the city

is more dynamic and more vibrant.

Although Chen Xin's city is also working hard to recover from the disaster,

the atmosphere in the city is closer to a feeling of struggling to survive in

the end times.

But the three towns are different here. Although the ruins and snow are still

visible in front of the city from the suburbs, the closer you get to the city,

the more you can feel the vitality of the city.

Some buildings that are obviously under construction, the vehicles coming and

going on the road, and even the dots of lights on the side of the road, all

indicate that the city is being reborn.

Perhaps this is the difference between a big city and a small city. After all,

this is the most important city in the central part of Yan Country. It is not

unusual that the reconstruction here has begun.

Just looking at the buildings under construction on the side of the road, Chen

Xin's expression was a little strange.

Zhang Yao noticed his changes and asked curiously: "What's wrong? Is there any

problem with this?"

"No, I just think it's a little bit early to start rebuilding the city now?"

Chen Xin raised his finger and pointed to the ruins of a building that was

obviously destroyed by a meteorite outside the car window, and said to Zhang

Yao, "You are coming down from the sky. Yes, it should be clear that there are

still a lot of meteorite debris in the sky now, and the city is now being

rebuilt. What if there are still rocks falling?"

Hearing what Chen Xin said, Zhang Yao remembered the impacts he had endured

when he got out of space in the return capsule, and he couldn't help but nod

slightly in agreement.

However, although he agrees with Chen Xin’s view, from another aspect, he is

not incapable of understanding why the three towns are now undergoing post-

disaster reconstruction: "However, it is not difficult to understand that the

post-disaster reconstruction is starting now. After all, the meteorite falls.

This is a matter of probability. It is impossible to leave the post-disaster

reconstruction work alone because of a certain degree of danger, right?

It may be a little risk to start post-disaster reconstruction now, but

compared with the overall progress and delays in the production of various

materials, this risk is still bearable. After all, most of the falling

meteorites are now small. Many scraps are burned before they hit the ground,

and the volume that can fall is not too large. At most, you can smash a hole

and fill it. "

These words of Zhang Yao made Chen Xin a little speechless, but he had to

admit that Zhang Yao was right.

People have a chance of choking to death when eating or drinking water, but I

have not seen anyone who skips eating or drinking water for this reason. Now

this apocalyptic environment can resume production earlier, whether it is for

the country or the ordinary people. Good thing.

After all, the disaster caused by the previous meteorite impact has caused

quite serious damage to the original industrial system. The chemical plants

around the city where Chen Xin is located are basically destroyed. The entire

city has only a little industry preserved in the underground factory area.

Production capacity.

This is true for a city, and even more so for a country. Although the country

will retain part of its industrial production capacity and restore part of its

production underground, this is obviously not enough to meet the needs of the

country.

This is just like the oxygen generator in the official shelter. If it is

placed before the disaster, how can there be insufficient equipment?

Based on the industrial production capacity before the Yan Guo disaster, with

the intervention at the national level, let alone meeting the domestic demand,

there is even more power to export to foreign countries to receive foreign

trade orders.

Therefore, resuming production should also be the first thing that the senior

officials of Yan Country need to consider.

As for the possible losses, it is obvious that a trade-off must be made at

this time.

While Chen Xin was thinking about this issue, they had gradually entered the

urban area of the three towns. Instead, there were fewer cars on the road.

It seemed that it was still the same as before the disaster. Large trucks were

not allowed to enter the city.

On the other hand, although the city is also carrying out debris removal work,

there are not as many construction sites outside the city.

It seems that the three towns have cleaned up the suburbs first, restored

industrial production first, and then considered the reconstruction of the

city.

Entering the city from the outskirts of the city, Chen Xin and the others

encountered a new checkpoint. This time the inspection was more detailed, and

even the entire car needed a scanner to scan the car body.

Under this meticulous scan, Chen Xin's car could not help being stopped.

"Hello Comrade, we need to check your car. There is a place in your car that

can't be scanned. Can you open it for us to see?" The person at the checkpoint

asked Chen Xin directly after he got on the car.

Chen Xin understood what the other party was talking about, but he hesitated

whether to open it for the other party to see, because the other party was

talking about the power source of the car, that is, where the three isotope

temperature difference batteries were installed.

Because the isotope thermoelectric battery generates heat through the

radiation released by the isotope decay, for safety reasons, both the three

batteries themselves and the installation slots where the batteries are

installed use metallic lead.

This not only cuts off the radiation, but also blocks the work of the scanner.

However, seeing Chen Xin hesitate, the people at the checkpoint became

obviously nervous, thinking that there was something shameful in Chen Xin's

car.

Not only the inspectors who got on the car, but even the staff at the

checkpoint beside them walked out with guns and dropped off the roadblocks at

the checkpoint. This is obviously to prevent possible emergencies.

This caused Zhang Chengguang and the others to become nervous. They hurriedly

looked at Chen Xin and asked him if they needed their help. After all, if they

showed their identity, they could help Chen Xin cover it in the name of the

Space Agency.

Chen Xin motioned to the three of them to stay calm, and at the same time said

to the inspectors: "This comrade, we belong to the space agency. Some things

on this car are the secrets of the space agency. You can see it, but it must

be kept secret. Two of you can check at most, do you think it’s okay?"

Hearing what Chen Xin said, and the clothes of the three astronauts next to

them were indeed printed with the words Yanguo Aerospace, the inspectors

agreed to Chen Xin's request after discussing it.

Chen Xin saw this ~www.mtlnovel.com~ and brought two inspectors to the cab,

and opened a cover on the connecting part of the cab and the living

compartment, revealing the three batteries installed inside.

"This part should be what you can't scan out. The structure of this part is

lead. The three areotope thermoelectric batteries are used for power

generation. Because there is a certain amount of radiation, they are sealed

with lead." After the two inspectors were newly signaled to see, then the

cover plate was reattached.

After the inspectors saw it, they found no problems and didn't say anything

further. Under Chen Xin's insults, they all agreed to keep it secret, and then

they got off the car.

Only after the inspectors got off the vehicle, the eyes of the three

astronauts looking at Chen Xin were a little strange.

Zhang Chengguang couldn't help asking Chen Xin, "Who are you, Chen Xin?

Isotope thermoelectric batteries are not something ordinary people can get!"
