Fang Yu, who had woken up early, couldn’t hold back his fatigue and quickly fell asleep. Lin Moyan, who was held tightly in Fang Yu’s arms, was still unable to fall asleep. Although he was tired, his mind was wide awake. While listening to Fang Yu’s warm breathing in his ears, his mind couldn’t help but drift to what had happened that day.

Since the photos taken last time were not clear enough, he decided to take the opportunity to get more pictures when he found out his step-father was going out again that morning. He could only lie to Fang Yu and say that he had to take care of relatives at home so he couldn’t meet Fang Yu in the day.

After seeing his step-father with the woman again, he couldn’t control the anger that had been burning in his heart. At the same time, he was very disappointed. None of the two men that his mother had met could care and love her wholeheartedly.

Fang Yu’s figure appeared in his mind at that moment. An odd sense of absence and loneliness suddenly overcame him. He didn’t care whether his emotions were normal or not. At that time, he only wanted to see this person, and so he took a taxi straight to the hotel. Along the way, he called his mother and made up an excuse to stay the night.

Lin Moyan felt that the time he spent on the road was unbearably long. When Fang Yu’s text message came, it was as if a spark had been ignited. He hurriedly left the taxi and rushed to the hotel. At that time, the only thought in his mind was to see Fang yu.

When he saw Fang Yu, it was as if all the anger and disappointment had been dispelled into the air.

It was late at night and he was tired, but he still couldn’t fall asleep. However, this time was different. Instead of being tight around Fang Yu, his whole heart was surrounded with warmth. His body wasn’t restless and on guard like the previous times they had slept together.

The sky gradually brightened from the ink colour and finally illuminated the entire room. Fang Yu gradually woke up from a good sleep. The first thing he did after waking up was to give Lin Moyan a deep kiss full of warmth which Lin Moyan accepted docilely.

Fang Yu didn’t have time to loiter around. He stuck to Lin Moyan the entire morning and was reluctant to let go of him. In the end, he rushed to the airport right before the plane took off.

After returning home, Lin Moyan happened to see his stepfather who was sitting alone in the living room. He was not interested in talking with him and walked directly to his room. However, Li Wei had no intention to accept Lin Moyan’s ignorance. Just before Lin Moyan entered his room, he asked, “Xiaoyan…you didn’t come back home last night…Do you have a lover?”

Lin Moyan’s hold on the doorknob tightened in an instant as if he wanted to break off the handle. He sneered and said, “It has nothing to do with you, get out!” He slammed the door shut and locked it.

This beast with a human face will definitely pay the price!

In the next few days, Lin Moyan paid attention to the beast all the time but he didn’t seize any other opportunity and his vacation was already coming to end. The photos from the previous two times were unsatisfactory to Lin Moyan. Li Wei’s face was either hidden or blurred and Lin Moyan couldn’t help but feel a little discouraged.

Just as Lin Moyan was planning to follow his step-father tomorrow and try one more time, Fang Yu sent a text message saying that he had sent a love letter to his mailbox and asked him to read it immediately.

Lin Moyan was frustrated and seeing Fang Yu’s text, he thought it would be a good idea to distract his mind for a while. He opened up his mailbox which had not been used for a long time. A lot of spam mail had accumulated over time but the most recent mail was the love letter sent by Fang Yu. Reading Fang Yu’s blatant show of affection, his face flushed.

After he finished reading the mail, he quickly closed it. As he tried to calm down his flustered state, he started cleaning up his spam mail. He watched the headers be deleted one by one until he saw an email with the title, “Li Wei’s infidelity”. He stopped deleting the emails and opened the mail in doubt. He downloaded the compressed file and opened it.

Undeniably, he was a little excited and couldn’t wait to open the folder which contained several clear and intimate photos of Li Wei and the woman walking together. Lin Moyan’s mood rose by a point every time he checked one of the photos. It wasn’t until after he looked through all the photos that his mood calmed down a bit. However, his mind was filled with questions.

Who took these photos and why did they do it? For what reason did they send those photos to him?

The sender was unfamiliar and there was nothing else that came with the compressed file so he had no way to track down the sender. But, this was what he needed right now. Perhaps someone couldn’t stand Li Wei and decided to help him. Either way, since he now had the evidence, he had no reason to not use it. The next day, he visited a photo studio and printed out the pictures.

That evening, Li Wei had a gathering outside and wasn’t at the dining table during dinner. Lin Moyan thought about it a little bit and decided to see what his mother thought.

Lin Moyan sat next to his mother who was watching the evening news and started a conversation, gradually shifting the topic to love and marriage. With an apprehensive voice, he asked, “Mom…if…if Uncle Li is with another person, what would you do? Would you..divorce..or pretend not to know?”

His mother seemed to notice something and put away her inattentive attitude. She looked at Lin Moyan intently for a while before she said, “Xiaoyan, I have lived with you alone for more than ten years. I have already experienced a lot of things. If your step-father cheats on me, I absolutely won’t tolerate it. Just like the time when your father brought another woman to the house, divorce is a must.”

Lin Moyan was deeply shocked by his mother’s determination. He had always known that his mother was a person who was soft on the outside but strong on the inside, but he did not expect his mother to resolutely choose divorce. In any case, his mother had lived with his stepfather for a long time so he thought his mother would be slightly hesitant to leave him.

Seeing that Lin Moyan seemed to be shocked by her words, Mother Lin pursed her lips and smiled, “Xiaoyan, I am also reluctant to face it, but there are some things I can’t compromise on. In my life, the most intolerable is my lover’s infidelity. That’s why I left your Dad so decisively.”

After Lin Moyan listened to his mother, he lowered his head and thought for a while, then got up to his bedroom and took out the pile of photos. He placed them face-up on the mahogany coffee table in front of his mother.

The top one was a photo of Li Wei walking down the street hugging the woman. After seeing the photo, Mother Lin did not show any shock or panic. When Lin Moyan had already asked the question, she knew that something was wrong. She just picked up the stack of photos with trembling fingers and tried her best to control the tears that threatened to flow from her eyes. While adjusting her breathing, she flipped through the photos one by one.

She looked through the photos half a dozen times in thirty minutes. Lin Moyan didn’t know how to comfort his heartbroken mother. All he could do was sit next to her, hug her, and let her know that she was not alone and had him with her.

Mother Lin gently placed the photos on the coffee table, patted her son’s hand on her shoulder and said with suppressed emotions, “Xiaoyan, mom is fine. I have endured so many years of hardship. Why would I be afraid of this? I will tell him that I will divorce him tonight. If I can leave him even a day earlier, it will certainly cheer me up a bit.”

“Mom, I’m sorry…” Lin Moyan tightened his hold on his mother’s arm and whispered.

Mother Lin took out a tissue and wiped the tears at the corner of her eyes. “Silly boy, what are you talking about? But where did you get this picture? Looking at the clothes they wore, it seems they were taken last fall.”

“I don’t know, someone sent it to my mailbox.” Lin Moyan took out a few more pieces of tissue and wiped his mother’s tears.

That night, no one in the family fell asleep. Lin Moyan didn’t know what his mother and stepfather had talked about, but he knew that from now on, his family would return to the way it was before. From the beginning to the end, it would only be him and his mother depending and supporting one another.
