Chapter 8

Six years later. Tiantou Star.

Silver hair, like a waterfall, cascaded down her back, gently draping over the pristine white floor, naturally spreading out in a fan-shaped silver glow.

"Nana, why are you daydreaming again?" A pleasant voice sounded, and Yun Yan, who had just entered the room, said with a hint of exasperation.

She had been at the research institute for three years. When she first arrived, she was assigned to this place, responsible for recording every aspect of the girl in front of her.

And the girl she called Nana had been in the institute for six years now, or rather, had been awake for six years.

According to the records, six years ago, she was thawed from an ice seal, and she was likely the first person in the Federation's history to survive such a thaw. The ice layer in which she was sealed was at least a thousand years old.

This was a highly valuable case for research, but the girl who was thawed out had forgotten everything about her past. She only vaguely remembered that her name was Nana.

At least in the three years that Yun Yan had been responsible for observing and recording, Nana had never shown any abnormal behavior. According to all the research reports and data, Nana had superior physical attributes and would instinctively react to attacks, displaying considerable skill in ancient martial arts. However, there was nothing else unusual about her. It was even impossible to determine if she was a Soul Master, as no trace of soul power could be detected in her.

Soul power is an energy that humans develop after awakening at the age of six. By cultivating this energy, one can become a Soul Master. Moreover, soul power is the foundation of the modern technological system, and all the technology in the Douluo Federation is known as soul-guided technology.

Without soul power, no matter how good one's physical attributes are, what can be done? This is a world with mechs, warships, and interstellar migration. While individual combat ability is still valued, it has been far surpassed by technology.

"You're here?" Nana turned around and smiled at Yun Yan.

Although Yun Yan always prepared herself mentally, she still couldn't help but be stunned by Nana's smile.

Nana was truly beautiful, so beautiful that even as a woman, Yun Yan couldn't feel any jealousy. Her large, violet eyes were so clear and pure, as if they could reflect everything. Moreover, it seemed that her age had been frozen at the time she was thawed. From the images, she had shown no signs of aging over the past six years, looking exactly the same as when she was first thawed. However, her skin was extremely resilient, and no instrument had been able to perform even the simplest blood draw without risking harm to her. Thus, she remained a mystery in the institute.

"Today is a big day for you!" Yun Yan came to her side, naturally lifting her long hair and stroking the smooth silver strands, smiling. "I really can't spend too much time with you, or you might turn me straight."

Nana was no longer the naive and ignorant girl she was when she first awoke. Over the past six years, she had learned a lot of modern knowledge. Her learning ability was strong, and if not for her past, no one would know she had been frozen for so long.

"That's not possible. I know I like men." Nana smiled. "What's so special about today?"

Yun Yan said, "Didn't you read the Federation's laws? According to Federation law, anyone with an unknown identity who has been observed for six years without any danger and has a guarantor can be granted temporary Federation citizenship, followed by a second ten-year observation period. If everything remains normal after ten years, permanent citizenship can be granted. In other words, starting today, once the procedures are completed, you will be a formal temporary citizen of the Federation."

"Federation, temporary citizen?" Nana's eyes were somewhat vacant. For some reason, at this moment, she seemed to recall something, but it was just a fleeting shadow.

...

"Tang Le, given your normal behavior over the past six years and with Yue Qingling as your guarantor, you are hereby granted temporary citizenship. Temporary citizens enjoy most of the same rights as formal Federation citizens, except for interstellar travel and the purchase of black-level or higher soul beasts. Over the next ten years, you must strictly abide by the law. If everything remains normal after ten years, you will be granted permanent citizenship."

"Click!" The electronic seal fell on the soul-guided screen, and a silver-white card was ejected into Tang Le's hand.

Tang Le's blue hair was tied back with a simple elastic band, but his handsome face still drew admiring glances. The female clerk responsible for processing the temporary identity had already lost count of how many times she had stared at his face.

"Ha ha ha, it's done, it's done. I can finally put my heroism to good use. From now on, you're mine!" Yue Qingling laughed, dancing around.

Ever since she brought this guy home six years ago, she realized she had brought home a troublemaker.

Back then, the Tang Le in front of her was penniless and naked! He only vaguely remembered his surname, Tang, and knew nothing else, not even basic life skills.

Yue Qingling even thought that he had imprinted on her like a baby animal imprints on its mother, which was why he followed her everywhere. She wouldn't admit that she brought him home because he was handsome!

Tang Le was the name she gave him, at least he had a name. Bringing him home was a huge decision, and it took a lot of effort to explain to her parents. In the end, her mother made the decision to keep him, and Yue Qingling suspected it was because of his looks. Her father was not very pleased with this.

For a while, Yue Qingling searched the interstellar network for information about Tang Le. She looked through all the male celebrities' profiles, but there was no one like him. He clearly had the looks of a complete celebrity!

Tang Le just followed her wherever she went. When she went to school, he would sit in on her classes. At first, this drew a lot of attention, so she had to buy him a mask to wear.

Six years! Thinking about her prime years, from nineteen to twenty-five, she was already a grown woman. Although humans now lived to about two hundred years old, twenty-five was just the beginning. But with this guy following her, she hadn't had a chance to date at all!

Now it was finally over. He had a temporary identity. More importantly, from the first time she saw him, Yue Qingling was convinced that this guy was destined to be a big star, even if he wasn't one before, he would be one in the future. So, after graduating from the academy and passing the Soul Master examination, she resolutely chose to study celebrity management for two years.

With a temporary identity, it meant that her star-making plan could finally begin!

The thought made her incredibly happy. She had always been a money lover. Looking at the tall, incredibly handsome Tang Le, she felt that she was about to get rich. This was a cash cow!
