Chapter 43

The young men of Huojiazhai were quite clever; as Ning Yue practiced, they immediately began to learn. Ning Yue had no intention of keeping anything secret and gave them a few pointers. These young men quickly learned to mimic the moves, and everyone was delighted, praising the martial arts of Xiong’erzhai as indeed superior to those of Huojiazhai.
Ning Yue taught these young men the Twelve Heavenly Forms without any ulterior motives, purely for the reward. Huo Dongge had demonstrated the Hunyuan Pile for him, which was the Huojiazhai family’s ancestral martial art. Since it had no significant advantages, Ning Yue focused all his attention on recovering his martial arts.
When he returned to the old man Huo’s room, he saw Bai Luoluo diligently practicing.
During the past few days of fleeing, apart from Ning Yue, who could practice anytime and anywhere, Bai Luoluo, despite wanting to seize every opportunity to practice during their escape, was constantly interrupted and showed no signs of improvement.
Ning Yue watched for a while and suddenly remembered something. He interrupted Bai Luoluo’s practice and asked, "Apart from the Ten Thousand Treasure Spirit Appraisal, have you practiced any martial arts?"
Bai Luoluo’s expression turned gloomy, and she shook her head, saying, "Our family has never allowed girls to practice martial arts. Even the Ten Thousand Treasure Spirit Appraisal, I learned it secretly. If I hadn’t fled with my brother, I wouldn’t have had the chance to learn the complete set of our Bai family’s spirit diagram."
Ning Yue nodded and said, "Since that’s the case, from today on, I will teach you a martial art. Practicing it alongside the Ten Thousand Treasure Spirit Appraisal will help you condense a virtual image sooner."
Ning Yue, with his profound knowledge, was truly a great master of martial arts, both ancient and modern. He hadn’t paid much attention to Bai Luoluo’s cultivation before, but once he did, he immediately identified where the little girl was lacking.
Bai Luoluo had already condensed nine spirit orbs but still couldn’t form an effective fighting force, clearly due to her weak martial arts. Even with the abilities of her spirit orbs, she couldn’t fight effectively.
Bai Luoluo was both surprised and delighted and hurriedly asked, "Brother! Can I also practice our Bai family’s martial arts?"
Ning Yue shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "The Bai family’s martial arts are not suitable for you. I will teach you another skill."
Ning Yue was not omnipotent, and he wasn’t the real Bai Xingyuan. How could he know the Bai family’s ancestral martial arts? He knew about the Ten Thousand Treasure Spirit Appraisal only because the divine crystal fragment had a record of it.
Bai Luoluo’s expression turned slightly gloomy, but she quickly brightened up and said with a smile, "The martial art you teach me must be extraordinary. Even if it doesn’t match our Bai family’s ancestral martial arts, it must be very powerful."
Ning Yue thought to himself, "This martial art might be even more powerful than your Bai family’s. It’s a secret sect’s supreme protective divine skill that I deduced after ascending to the heavens and becoming a deity."
Martial arts are typically divided into static and dynamic practices. The heart methods of Buddhism and Daoism mostly involve sitting meditation, where the body remains still, and true qi is generated in the dantian. It requires a single breath of true qi to circulate through the entire body’s meridians to achieve some success.
Most martial arts schools, however, focus on dynamic practices such as standing postures, footwork, fist techniques, and palm techniques. During practice, various postures must be used, and true qi is generated from the muscles and bones, eventually converging in the dantian, cultivating internal strength from the outside in.
Ning Yue’s martial arts were closer to Daoism, focusing on static practices. The dantian breathes in and out, and the true qi must be practiced to the point where it can be controlled like an arm, becoming spiritual and versatile to achieve great success. However, Daoist techniques emphasize a state of mind that transcends the mundane, so Ning Yue wouldn’t teach Bai Luoluo the Taiqing Heart Method but had other plans.
"The Nine Heavens’ elemental energy is abundant to an astonishing degree. Starting with external techniques to temper the body, limbs, and bones, and then unifying the strength throughout the body to generate superior internal strength is a more straightforward path. Among the external techniques I know, the Tibetan Esoteric Sect’s Great Pagoda Method is the best. I will teach this method to Bai Luoluo, and she might be able to condense a virtual image within a few months using this martial art."
When Ning Yue was still Yan Jifeng, he fought across the land and experienced countless battles. Although he himself was not adept at external hard techniques, he had obtained the Great Pagoda Method from the defeated Red Sun Dharma King.
Red Sun Dharma King was a direct disciple of the Mongol myth Baghatur, who had also served as the Grand Preceptor of the Yuan Dynasty. He was a powerful martial artist, one of the few in the world. Although he had been taught this method, he did not complete it but instead achieved the slightly inferior Great Vajra Body. Later, his junior brother White Elephant Dharma King also failed to master the Great Pagoda Method and instead practiced the Great Vajra Body.
In Sanskrit, "pagoda" means "treasure tower." If the Great Pagoda Method were translated into Chinese, it would be called the "Sutra of Instant Enlightenment to the Many Treasures Pagoda Buddha Light Great Freedom."
The Great Pagoda Method is the supreme skill of the Tibetan Esoteric Sect, divided into thirteen levels.
At the beginning, it focuses on refining the skin, flesh, tendons, marrow, and organs, and the mind. From the seventh level onwards, it transitions to the cultivation methods of the three channels and seven wheels of the Esoteric Sect.
This method is the first protective hard skill of the Tibetan Esoteric Sect. If mastered, it is like a diamond pagoda covering the body, making it invulnerable to any martial arts, surpassing even the Great Vajra Body practiced by Red Sun and White Elephant. However, this method is extremely difficult to practice, and it is listed alongside the "Sutra of the Great Sun Buddha’s Enlightenment and Transformation," known in Chinese martial arts as the Great Sun Buddha Spirit Seal, as the two supreme methods of the Tibetan Esoteric Sect, the path to enlightenment.
After Baghatur’s death, his two disciples failed to master the Great Pagoda Method and the Great Sun Buddha Spirit Seal. The original texts of these two supreme skills, although still enshrined in the Sakya Monastery, could no longer be practiced to achieve the supreme martial arts recorded in them.
Red Sun Dharma King knew his junior brother White Elephant Dharma King had great ambitions. He practiced the Great Vajra Body but could not achieve perfection, so he wanted to risk practicing the Great Pagoda Method to avoid being stripped of his position as Grand Preceptor. However, before he could complete this supreme skill, he was killed by Ning Yue, and the handwritten copy of the "Sutra of Instant Enlightenment to the Many Treasures Pagoda Buddha Light Great Freedom" fell into the hands of this Han martial arts master.
Ning Yue, of course, knew the origin of the Great Pagoda Method and its power. However, at that time, his martial arts were already at the peak, and his path was set, so he could not practice this method. He had only read it once to broaden his knowledge and did not attempt to practice it.
Having decided on the martial art to teach, Ning Yue did not hesitate. He immediately instructed Bai Luoluo to sit cross-legged, placing one hand on her dantian and the other on her life gate, and to circulate her soul energy according to the method he taught. The Great Pagoda Method has thirty-six forms, and this is the first form, the Ignition Fire Form.
Bai Luoluo, who obeyed Ning Yue, her "brother," without question, began the Ignition Fire Form. After a few breaths, she vaguely felt the elemental energy becoming heavier, pressing down on her small body like a tidal wave, threatening to engulf her.
Ning Yue, not wanting Bai Luoluo to practice alone, watched over her. At this moment, he couldn’t help but help her regulate her true qi.
With Ning Yue’s assistance, the elemental energy formed a protective aura, tightly enveloping Bai Luoluo’s entire body, seeping through her skin and dispersing into her limbs and bones.
The Ignition Fire Form is the supreme method of the Tibetan Esoteric Sect. High monks and virtuous men who have successfully practiced the Ignition Fire can meditate naked in the Great Snow Mountains, remaining as warm as spring, unaffected by the cold and wind.
Bai Luoluo, practicing for the first time, of course, did not have such abilities. However, she had already practiced the Ten Thousand Treasure Spirit Appraisal and had opened nine spirit orbs, giving her a deeper mental cultivation than ordinary martial arts masters. Therefore, she remained in deep meditation for a long time. When she gradually woke from her meditative state and looked at the sky, she was slightly surprised.

Previously, I mentioned that this book is a revised version of "Pagoda Dragon Elephant." The trial reading released is also "Pagoda Dragon Elephant," but the original text has been modified, leaving little of the original. The following chapters are the remaining traces.
