Chapter 6

"Kid, what are you plotting here! If it fails, we'll be dead for sure!" Chen San shouted.

"Boss, this is our only chance! Let this Spanish captain lure the British onto the ship, and then we'll quickly rush to their warship and take them all out! Otherwise, the chances of us successfully escaping the British pursuit are only one or two in ten!" Long Yufei said. In front of the British warship, the pirate ship had no resistance capability at all. The British warship only needed one round of cannon fire to sink a pirate ship. The remaining dozen or so pirate ships, even if they scattered and fled, would find it very difficult to escape!

Luo Sangu did not think for long. After just a few seconds, she said, "Brothers, let's do it as Mr. Long said. Only by risking our lives can we have a chance to survive! Now, everyone can choose voluntarily. Those who are willing to stay and fight the British can hide in the cabin. Those who are unwilling can leave early!"

The pirates were hesitant, especially after Chen San openly opposed them, making it even harder for them to decide.

"Boss, I, Li Hu, will entrust my life to you! I believe Mr. Long's plan will work!" Li Hu was the first to stand up in support.

Subsequently, most of the pirates chose to stay and fight the British, while only Chen San and a few others chose to leave!

Afterward, Long Yufei was responsible for communicating with the bearded captain, while Luo Sangu gathered the pirates and hid them in the cabin. Chen San directly took his people and fled. However, when he left, his gaze toward Long Yufei was filled with even more resentment. Long Yufei seemed to ignore it completely!

"Captain, do you want to live?" Long Yufei said to the bearded captain.

"Yes! Sir, I have a lot of gold in Manila. If you let me go, all the gold will be yours!" the bearded captain said.

"Captain, if you help us, I'll let you go! I swear by God! If it succeeds, you will be safe! Of course, if you refuse, I have no choice, and my companions plan to throw you into the sea to feed the fish!" Long Yufei threatened. Li Hu, standing beside him, also showed a fierce expression, making the bearded captain tremble with fear.

"Sir, whatever you need, just say it, and I will fully cooperate!" the bearded captain quickly said!

"A British warship will be here soon, and we need your cooperation...!" Long Yufei laid out the entire plan to the bearded captain. Whether they could lure the British onto the ship largely depended on the bearded captain's cooperation, which was crucial to the success of the plan.

The bearded captain's eyes widened, and he looked at Long Yufei with disbelief. He never imagined that these pirates would dare to target a British warship. In his view, this was bound to fail!

"Sir, this plan is too risky. If it fails, you'll be dead for sure!" the bearded captain said.

"Captain, you're right. If the plan fails, we'll be dead for sure! But I guarantee that before the British kill us, we'll kill you first!" Long Yufei said with certainty.

The bearded captain could feel that Long Yufei was not lying. If he refused or the plan failed, he would be killed first! These Chinese were devils! But he had no other choice now; he had to cooperate with these devils to avoid dying here.

"Captain, bear with it for a moment!" Long Yufei said, then turned to Li Hu and said, "Hu, give him a cut!"

Li Hu stepped forward and, before the bearded captain could react, slashed his arm. Instantly, blood gushed from the bearded captain's arm, and he let out a pig-like scream!

"Sir, why are you hurting me?" the bearded captain said angrily. He couldn't understand why, after just reaching an agreement, Long Yufei turned on him!

"Captain, I'm sorry, but I'm doing this to increase our chances of success. Don't you think you look more like a victim of pirates now?" Long Yufei said innocently.

Despite his deep resentment, the bearded captain couldn't say much more!

"Alright, Captain, the British are coming. Get ready! No tricks! I'll be pointing a gun at you from the cabin. If you try anything, I'll shoot your head off!" Long Yufei warned!

The bearded captain was startled and quickly assured that he would cooperate. Originally, he had planned to use the British to get rid of the pirates, but Long Yufei's warning made him too afraid to take the risk!

About ten minutes later, the British cruiser 'Coventry' arrived and stopped about fifty meters from the 'Black Pearl.' It was a 30-meter-long, 400-ton, sixth-rate warship with 24 cannons. The cannons on the starboard side were all aimed at the 'Black Pearl,' ready to sink it at the first sign of danger!

"Hey! Spaniards, what's happening over there?" a British officer shouted from the deck of the 'Coventry.'

The bearded captain, holding his injured arm, came to the deck. He glanced at the cabin and saw Long Yufei with a rifle aimed at him, making him feel a chill. He knew that if he tried anything, Long Yufei would kill him. For his own life, he dared not take the risk. So, he could only silently pray to God for forgiveness!

"Respected officer, we've been attacked by pirates, and my crew has suffered heavy casualties. I hope you can help us!" the bearded captain said.

The 'Coventry' did not immediately respond, as they seemed to be discussing the situation.

At this moment, the bearded captain continued, "Officer, I can pay you fifty pounds of gold! This ship is an armed merchant ship transporting gold for the Spanish Governor-General of Luzon, Antonio Pedro. If you help me, the Governor-General will reward you well!"

Gold was indeed a tempting thing. When the 'Coventry' heard about the gold on the 'Black Pearl,' there was a commotion, even among the ship's captain, Lieutenant Adam!

"Ha! Gold! These Spaniards are indeed rich! I now declare that this gold belongs to us! Move in, Lieutenant Brown, take a few men and board the 'Black Pearl.' If there's no danger, bring all the gold back to our ship!" Lieutenant Adam said excitedly. Originally, he could have taken a safer approach, such as keeping the 'Coventry' in place and sending a small boat to the 'Black Pearl' to check for danger before moving in. However, the word 'gold' made his blood boil, and he couldn't wait to get his hands on the shiny stuff. He subconsciously believed that a merchant ship attacked by pirates would not pose a threat to his warship and would not dare to attack a warship!

A few minutes later, the 'Coventry' was alongside the 'Black Pearl,' and Lieutenant Brown led a few soldiers onto the 'Black Pearl.'

"Sir, where is the gold? We need to see the gold before we help you!" Lieutenant Brown said.

At this moment, Luo Sangu, hiding in the cabin, gave the order to attack. A large number of pirates rushed out of the cabin, each wielding a gleaming steel sword, and quickly charged onto the deck, heading for the 'Coventry.'

"God! What's happening!" Lieutenant Brown was stunned. He was just about to draw his gun to fight back when Long Yufei fired.

With a 'bang,' a bullet hole appeared on Lieutenant Brown's forehead, and he fell to the deck.

At this moment, the pirates had already jumped onto the 'Coventry' and launched an attack.

The British sailors on the 'Coventry' were completely unprepared. Their greed for gold had clouded their judgment. When they saw the ferocious pirates attacking, it was already too late!

"Damn! It's a trap! You damned Spaniards, you dare to collude with these pirates to attack the Royal Navy of Great Britain! This is a provocation against Great Britain, and Great Britain will not let you go!" Lieutenant Adam of the 'Coventry' shouted.

On the 'Coventry,' there were over a hundred British sailors, but in their unprepared state, they were no match for the pirates. Without gunpowder and bullets, their rifles were useless, and they couldn't compare to the pirates' steel swords. Over a hundred pirates rushed onto the 'Coventry' and easily overwhelmed the British sailors, defeating them with minimal losses!

As the pirate leader, Luo Sangu, wielded a long sword and led the pirates in a fierce attack, she was invincible, and no one could stand against her!

"Truly a heroine!" Long Yufei couldn't help but exclaim at the sight!

"Sir, we succeeded. You promised to let me go!" the bearded captain said with a fawning expression, afraid that Long Yufei might go back on his word!
