Chapter 13

"Indeed, the ability I am about to impart to you is called 'Soul Command.'"

The man in black robes gave Wang D Lei a profound look and then said, "Soul Command is a very powerful ability and technique, not just for the demon race, but also for your human race to cultivate."

This is about to impart a technique!

Wang D Lei was full of spirit.

"Of course, this ability is also highly taboo. If you want to learn it, you must first join my Seven Cultivations Sea sect and swear allegiance to us. Only then can we impart this ability to you."

At this moment, Wang D Lei heard the system's voice.

??? Invite you to join the Seven Cultivations Sea, do you agree? Note: The Seven Cultivations Sea and the Flowing Cloud Temple are mortal enemies. Joining the Seven Cultivations Sea will lead to the Flowing Cloud Temple's hostility!

Flowing Cloud Temple? What kind of bizarre organization is that?

Without a second thought, Wang D Lei accepted the invitation from the Seven Cultivations Sea and eagerly awaited the black-robed man to impart the technique.

"Alright, now follow me into the Netherworld Mountain. It will be more convenient to impart the ability there."

"Netherworld Mountain?!"

Wang D Lei was startled.

The legendary Level 100 training area, a place only the most advanced players can venture into!

Wang D Lei had heard that a few years ago, a group of players organized a raid on the Netherworld Mountain, crossed it, and reached the most mysterious Yellow Spring Road in the game. However, they were quickly wiped out, so no one really knew what the Level 100 territory looked like!

And now, he actually had the chance to enter this legendary and mysterious place?! He was extremely excited!

"Follow me closely. If you don't want to be drained dry by the tree spirits in the Demon Tree Forest, you must stay close to me."

After hearing the black-robed man's words, Wang D Lei immediately nodded and followed him into the Demon Tree Forest.

After walking through the terrifying Demon Tree Forest, Wang D Lei and Monkey were led to the Netherworld Mountain.

However, upon entering the Netherworld Mountain, Wang D Lei felt somewhat disappointed.

It was indeed a large place, but the buildings were unremarkable, and there were almost no people around. He only saw an NPC named Dajia standing at the gate, who looked like a fraud.

Could it be that the developers haven't set this place up yet?

Wang D Lei was puzzled.

"You've arrived?" At this moment, a seductive woman appeared before the two of them.

"Yes, this young brother has just joined our Seven Cultivations Sea. I brought him here to hold the ceremony."

"Hmm. Go inside." The seductive woman looked at Wang D Lei and said, "Be careful not to wander around. If you take a wrong step on the Netherworld Mountain, your life will be in danger."

"Madam Xue Nian, are you still upset about the invasion last time?" the black-robed man asked.

Xue Nian coldly snorted, "Those Xuanwu people are too overconfident. Do they think the Netherworld Mountain is a place they can come and go as they please? Get these humans out of my sight, they're too annoying!"

Hearing Xue Nian's words, the black-robed man led Wang D Lei and Monkey further back until they reached an open area and stopped.

"The Soul Command system requires the extraction of your spirit, so when the ceremony takes place, you must not resist at all."

"Yes, sir!"

Wang D Lei didn't care about the details; this was clearly a rare and fortunate encounter!

The Seven Cultivations Sea was a very secretive organization, and it was almost impossible for ordinary people to learn such divine skills. Was he the only one to have this?

Wang D Lei was now imagining himself using this incredible ability to dominate the Middle School Cup.

"Hmph, and that guy I met this morning, once I learn this skill, I'll crush you, hahaha~"

Wang D Lei was secretly gloating. He then turned his gaze to Monkey.

Monkey wasn't a professional player, so Wang D Lei didn't consider him a threat.

"The world from now on will be mine..."

Wang D Lei felt his confidence soaring.

At this moment, the black-robed man had already set up a strange array on the ground. Wang D Lei didn't understand what it was.

"I'll say it again, you must not resist, do you understand?"

Wang D Lei nodded, "I understand!"

As soon as Wang D Lei finished speaking, he felt a sudden and intense change in the world. It seemed as if the entire world had turned into chaos and darkness.

Seeing such a strange sight, Wang D Lei was amazed.

At this moment, a strange figure appeared in the sky.

Seeing this ghostly figure, Wang D Lei couldn't help but shiver. But remembering the black-robed man's words, he had to force himself to stay alert and watch the monster.

The monster hovered silently in the air, then suddenly looked at Wang D Lei. In fact, Wang D Lei didn't know if the monster was really "looking" at him.

Soon, the monster came to Wang D Lei's side and passed through him, disappearing without a trace!

In that instant, Wang D Lei's consciousness almost completely faded.

"What happened?"

When Wang D Lei finally came to, he found that the strange changes in the world had completely disappeared, and everything seemed to have returned to its original tranquility.

"Hmm...?"

Wang D Lei's gaze was still dazed.

Just a moment ago, he felt like something was missing from his body, but upon closer inspection, he was puzzled: "What exactly is missing...?"

"Bro Lei, how do you feel?" Before Wang D Lei could fully process his thoughts, Monkey ran to his side.

"I'm... not sure." He shook his head, then suddenly remembered something and became excited, "Right, did I master Soul Command? How do I use this ability?"

"That's simple!" Monkey said with a grin, "Just imagine your movement."

"...Imagine my movement? How do I do that?" Wang D Lei asked curiously.

"For example, I imagine myself moving forward, but I control my body to move backward, and my mental image overrides my body's actions—" Monkey took a step backward but appeared in front of him.

"I think I get it!"

Wang D Lei's eyes lit up.

The Soul Command system was indeed powerful, working on this principle.

Wang D Lei imagined himself drawing his sword and walking forward, but he controlled his body to turn and move backward.

His body did move backward, but when Wang D Lei quickly reinforced the concept of movement in his mind, he suddenly found himself in front, in a sword-swinging stance!

"It's really that powerful!"

Wang D Lei was instantly excited.

The black-robed man watched Wang D Lei's excitement without saying a word.

After trying out the new skill, Wang D Lei gradually calmed down.

Then he became a bit worried, "Monkey, do you think our bug-like skill will be nerfed by the developers?"

Monkey shook his head, "Bro Lei, you know how the operators are. A few years ago, there was the Summoner Incident, right? The developers didn't do anything about it, so why would they care about our 'technique'?"

"Ah! That's right!"

Wang D Lei suddenly understood.

The Summoner Incident involved a player who summoned a White Tiger in the arena a few years ago.

This incident caused a huge stir at the time.

The arena mode and the game mode are completely different. Players can't use extra skills in the arena.

Of course, it was later proven that the skill glitch was due to a special weapon called the "Tiger Slaying Sword," which could alter the summoner's skills.

After this incident, the players were in an uproar, but the developers had no response.

Yes, the developers had no response to this skill glitch.

Later, the player's weapon was acquired by another large guild and became one of their symbols.

For the developers, or the entire official team, their response was no response. Compared to other game websites, the official website of Dragon Tomb was more like a strategy guide.

There were no game events, no game announcements, and no game gossip. If there was anything, it was probably the publication of national laws and regulations.

Speaking of which, the surrounding companies were more active. For example, the virtual helmet that Zhang Taihao, a rich player, used was a limited edition that was not yet in mass production and could only be obtained through company events. Of course, this rich player had already upgraded to a better helmet...

Monkey's reminder made Wang D Lei suddenly enlightened.

Yes, the developers had never done anything like this. Look, why was the forum discussion so heated about this version update? It's because the developers never held any events!

Of course, even with the version update, the developers remained silent, and the players were already used to it.

The two of them whispered to each other, leaving the black-robed man aside. However, the black-robed man just waited for them to finish talking.

"Sir, your great kindness will never be forgotten!"

At this moment, Wang D Lei finally remembered the black-robed man.

"Hmm, it's fine. You can leave now. The Netherworld Mountain is not a place for humans to stay for long."

"Yes!"

Wang D Lei and Monkey prepared to use the crystal to return to the city.

However, Wang D Lei seemed to have an idea and said to Monkey, "I'll go practice this skill in the Demon Tree Forest and see if it works in the game world."

"Sure, but don't stay too late. It's almost midnight, get some rest."

"Got it."

After saying that, Wang D Lei left the Netherworld Mountain and entered the Demon Tree Forest.

The trees in the Demon Tree Forest were all terrifying tree spirits, high-level monsters.

Wang D Lei didn't hesitate; he walked to the edge and attracted the hate of one of the tree spirits.

Wang D Lei then lured the tree spirit forward, and it fell for the trap. At this moment, Wang D Lei suddenly appeared behind the tree spirit and slashed it with his sword!

Although the attack missed, Wang D Lei was excited, "It really works!"

However, his joy was short-lived. As soon as he said that, another tree spirit appeared behind him and slapped him, causing him to die instantly.

"Awesome, now that I have 'Soul Command,' I can take on three in tomorrow's match! Hahaha~"

Although he was killed by the tree spirit during the test, Wang D Lei was still in high spirits.

The incredible evasion and control of Soul Command were definitely a game-breaking level of power.

Thinking about this, Wang D Lei felt even more energized.

However, Wang D Lei didn't notice that his eyes had become dull, as if he were a walking corpse.

He checked the time; it was already midnight.

"It's so late, time to sleep."

Wang D Lei exited the game, placed the helmet on the bedside table, and stood up to go wash up.

However, as soon as he stood up and took a few steps, he suddenly felt his body lose control and he fell forward.

"—Huh?"

Wang D Lei was still puzzled, but the next moment, he fell to the ground. He tried to move but found his muscles weak and unresponsive. "What's happening to me?" As this thought flashed through his mind, Wang D Lei's consciousness sank into darkness...
