Chapter 38

"Emperor Asura?" Zhou Xian recalled the information he had seen before: "That's right, I remember that Emperor Asura seems to be a title among the Emperor players, right?"

Dark Angel smiled lightly at Zhou Xian and then gestured for him to open the information she had just sent him.

"As you said, Emperor Asura is one of the seven Emperor players, but you definitely don't know that the person who originally received the 'Emperor Quest' was not Emperor Asura himself."

Not Emperor Asura himself?

"Mr. Mosaic, do you know why there is a rumor in the game world that killing an Emperor player might transfer the Emperor Quest to someone else?"

Zhou Xian's breathing suddenly became labored.

"Does this mean that Emperor Asura... he obtained the Emperor Quest from someone else?"

Dark Angel nodded silently: "You should understand by looking at the information in your hand. This is all the information we can gather on the surface."

"..."

Zhou Xian silently opened the information Dark Angel had sent him, and immediately, a long list of personal information about Emperor Asura appeared before him.

From the estimated level of Emperor Asura to the equipment and various attributes he might possess, even his living habits, all of these were categorized into individual items. There was even a classification of Emperor Asura in the real world.

"Truly worthy of the Black Death Angels Guild..."

Zhou Xian wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

"The Black Death Angels Guild is one of the representatives of Lucifer Club in the game world, and we also have an Emperor player in our guild. If we can't know our enemies as well as ourselves, it would be very troublesome if others try to ambush us."

"That's true."

The Emperor player of the Black Death Angels Guild is called "Emperor Ye Tian." It is said that this Emperor player is the most unconventional and mysterious existence in the game.

At least, the other Emperors have some information, such as videos, personal data, or other rumors, like the "Cloud Emperor" I knew at first.

However, the Emperor player of the Black Death Angels Guild, or the Lucifer Club, is the most mysterious. This person has never shown their face, and there isn't even a single rumor. There are many analyses and gossips about "him" or "her" on the internet, but there is no solid information.

This is an "non-existent Emperor player."

Even so, no one would say that this Emperor player doesn't exist. Emperor Ye Tian once appeared, and that was a year ago when three Emperor players jointly attacked the Black Death Angels Guild. At that time, Emperor Ye Tian appeared and fought against the three, making other guilds and clubs retreat.

Unfortunately, no one knows what happened in that battle because as soon as Emperor Ye Tian appeared, he used a skill called "Dark Perspective," which turned all players' views completely black, even the death perspective showed nothing.

So, although many people know about this Emperor player, no one knows the identity of the Emperor player of the Lucifer Empire.

Dark Angel didn't know that Zhou Xian was thinking about Emperor Ye Tian. She said, "Emperor Asura was not originally one of the Emperor players. He received a quest related to the ancient Asura clan that conflicted with the original Emperor player, and they became opposing sides. In the end, Emperor Asura successfully killed the original Emperor player and inherited his quest. The quest related to the Asura clan also evolved into the Emperor Quest."

"Is that really possible?"

Zhou Xian was very surprised.

"In fact, every Emperor player will encounter such a quest intersection at the beginning. Emperor players generally refer to this quest as a 'trial.'"

"Trial...?"

"Emperor Quests are all 5S-level quests. When a player receives an Emperor Quest, another team usually receives a 4S-level or higher quest that conflicts with the Emperor player's quest."

"..."

Zhou Xian didn't know this. But during the first stage of his Emperor Quest, Zhou Xian indeed had a dragon-slaying quest, which was because another team had received a 4S-level dragon-slaying quest.

But now, Zhou Xian roughly understood that the quest was to test him.

Thinking about that almost fatal experience, Zhou Xian couldn't help but sigh.

"Although there are seven Emperor players in total... oh, there is now another one hiding in the shadows. Since the game started, a total of 100 people have received the Emperor Quest, but their quests... without a doubt, all failed." Dark Angel told Zhou Xian a shocking statistic.

"Of course, half of them were also hunted down by other guilds and organizations." Dark Angel said casually.

"Uh... but this eighth Emperor player hasn't shown up yet. Why haven't I heard any news about it?"

Zhou Xian asked curiously.

"Because it's not the right time yet." Dark Angel glanced at Zhou Xian's face and then said, "Emperor players, in the end, are players who have been 'put into a story template.' Like the protagonist in a martial arts novel... perhaps the protagonist is unknown at the beginning, but in the middle of the story, the protagonist usually becomes famous."

"..."

Indeed.

"So, the major guilds don't need to investigate specifically. They just need to wait for the cone in the pocket to show its tip." Dark Angel smiled again, "It's like being pregnant; eventually, it will show."

"Uh, that does seem to be the case." Zhou Xian opened his mouth but found that it was indeed true.

"Although there are many people now shouting to kill the Emperor players, they are all from medium and small guilds, like the Chi Long and Blood Dropper..."

"I see." Zhou Xian wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

The Chi Long Guild is a major force in the game, and it is not an exaggeration to call it a large guild. The Blood Dropper Guild is a well-known assassin organization in the game, always causing fear. But in front of a super guild like the Black Death Angels Guild, those large guilds are indeed "medium and small."

"However, apart from Emperor Asura, the other six Emperors are actually quite easy to get along with. If you're worried that they might harm others due to their moods, you don't need to be."

Hearing Dark Angel's words, Zhou Xian felt a bit relieved.

"Alright, according to our agreement, Mr. Mosaic, you should now tell me why you want to know this information about the Emperors."

Zhou Xian nodded: "The reason is simple. I think these Emperor players should know some information about the countdown on the login screen, and I believe that if we ignore it... it might lead to some irreparable consequences."

"Oh? Mr. Mosaic, don't you think it's just a countdown for an event?" Dark Angel couldn't help but ask, but her tone sounded very strange to Zhou Xian.

"..." Zhou Xian silently held a return crystal in his hand. After struggling for a long time, he finally said, "Actually... I am the eighth Emperor player. And I believe the severity of this matter might exceed your imagination."

"..."

Dark Angel suddenly fell silent.

Zhou Xian had anticipated her reaction: either a direct attack or an attempt to recruit him.

But this strange silence was something he hadn't expected.

"I understand." Dark Angel suddenly stood up: "From this, I think it might be a good idea to convene an Emperor meeting."

"Emperor meeting?" Zhou Xian was a bit surprised.

"Your current Emperor Quest is not yet complete, right, Mr. Mosaic?"

Zhou Xian nodded: "I'm currently in the second stage."

"Then I'll tell you, Emperor players can convene an Emperor meeting. When the meeting is called, Emperor players will be summoned to a special safe space, which is a special coordination and meeting place for Emperor players. Although your quest is not complete, if an Emperor player invites you, you can also enter the Emperor meeting."

"I see."

"I'll go and negotiate with Emperor Ye Tian for you." Dark Angel said, "I'll have her bring you into the Emperor meeting. As for the other Emperors, I'll try to notify them. I believe they can also feel the abnormality brought by this sudden update. And it seems the real world has also been affected..." The latter part of Dark Angel's voice became softer, and Zhou Xian almost didn't hear it.

"Sister Dark Angel, do you believe me...?"

Zhou Xian couldn't help but ask.

"Of course." Dark Angel tilted her head: "Because you have no reason to lie to me. So, I have no reason not to believe you."

The answer was simple, but it left Zhou Xian with a mix of emotions.

"Then, Sister Dark Angel, what do you think of me, the eighth Emperor player?"

"..."

"One thing." Dark Angel looked at Zhou Xian seriously.

"Don't die."

"..."

Zhou Xian looked at Dark Angel, opened his mouth to say something, but found that no matter what he wanted to say, the words stuck in his throat.

"I understand."

Finally, he said these words.

"Okay, I'll help you notify the other Emperor players. Once everything is arranged, I'll let you know."

Zhou Xian nodded and stood up: "Thank you."

After finally finishing, Zhou Xian left Dark Angel's room.

"Good luck."

Dark Angel watched Zhou Xian's figure disappear from the room, then turned around, closed her eyes, and seemed to be thinking about something.

"Good luck, little Zhou Xian..."
