Chapter 65: The Giant Dragon Waterfall

Daisy recounted their group's recent battle, summarizing that the two new students had affected the entire team.

Boya, who was mainly poisoned, gradually returned to normal after taking a special antidote that could treat most toxins. However, the area where she was bitten and poisoned was still swollen and somewhat ulcerated. With the help of healing potions and magic, recovery was just a matter of time.

Cornelia sat to one side, head hanging, neither eating nor speaking.

Seeing this, Daisy said, "Cornelia, this is reality. It's not like in the academy where you can stop when you lose a match. In the wild, a moment's inattention can make you a lonely soul here. If you still treat this situation as a joke, not only will you suffer, but your companions will be affected because of you."

Cornelia replied, "No, I don't think it's a joke, I..."

"At least you didn't take it seriously enough," Daisy interrupted. "If you had, you wouldn't have acted like you did just now. Instead, you would have acted like Doris, risking her own safety to save Boya. You might say I'm not that great, but let me tell you, this isn't about being great. If you four are in a dangerous place, the more companions you can protect, the better your chances of survival."

"Sorry..." Cornelia felt that her teacher was right; she indeed hadn't fought as hard as the others and hadn't realized the severity of the situation.

Daisy smiled, "You don't need to apologize to me, you should apologize to them."

Cornelia stood up and bowed to them, "I'm sorry."

"Alright, alright, sit down," Doris smiled at her. "Fortunately, everyone is fine now. Just remember for next time."

Dor seemed a bit angry and didn't even look at her, saying, "There shouldn't be any more monsters around here for now. We can't move on today. With a severely injured companion, my guardian Coro has used up too much energy and needs time to recover before he can fight again."

Coro, who was beside him, glanced at his owner and continued eating his roasted lizard.

"I agree we should rest and regroup here. Moving forward with an injured companion would put us in grave danger," Doris looked at the sky. "It's still early, but let's set up camp."

On the other side,

Vain carried a long-handled battle-axe and walked proudly at the front of the group, with two large eagles hanging from his axe. Another person, however, walked dejectedly at the back of the group, his fish-scale armor torn to shreds, holding only a decent sword. Both he and Vain were new students and warriors.

In the middle were two girls, one a poison mage and the other a standard knight. One was Shulin Ema, slightly plump and short, but the highest-ranked intermediate poison mage in their group, already 19 years old.

The other girl, Candice Shana, 17 years old, was a junior water knight. She was very beautiful and dressed provocatively, often twisting her waist and licking her lips, teasing the teacher beside her. The tyrannosaurus she rode was a monster they had captured that morning. It was unclear what method she used, but within a day, this three to four-meter-long, fierce tyrannosaurus was completely obedient to her.

Their teacher, nicknamed Crab, didn't like being called by his name, so the students called him Teacher Crab. He glanced at Celeste Hesmingfen at the back and then at the front where Kate Vain was. Both were new students and warriors, and both were 15 years old, but their performances were vastly different. He recalled the battle they had in a small forest earlier, where Vain was excited like a wild beast, while Hesmingfen was terrified and hid, one acting like a true new student, the other completely different.

Crab stopped and, when Hesmingfen passed by, patted his shoulder and said, "Why don't you go talk to your companions in front? They might be able to help you."

Hesmingfen looked up at Vain in front of him and then timidly lowered his head.

Suddenly, Vain shouted, "Do you hear that?"

"Hmm?" The group listened carefully and faintly heard a rumbling sound.

Shana said, "It sounds like some monsters fighting."

"No," Ema listened carefully and said, "I think it's the sound of a waterfall."

Crab smiled, "Ema is right. That's the sound of the 'Giant Dragon' waterfall, the largest in the empire. I didn't expect we would come this far."

"Waterfall, hahaha, I'm coming!" Vain shouted and ran quickly in the direction of the sound.

Ema complained, "This guy, doesn't he know the danger?"

"Ha ha ha..." Shana laughed, "That's what makes a man, I like it, ha ha ha..."

Hesmingfen, hearing the two women's words, felt even more dejected.

"Can I ride your guardian?" Ema jumped onto the tyrannosaurus and said to Hesmingfen, "Little guy, come on, let's go."

Hesmingfen got angry and shouted, "I'm not a little guy!" Suddenly, the tyrannosaurus turned its head, scaring him so much that he fell on his butt, making the two girls laugh uncontrollably.

Crab helped Hesmingfen up, and with a step, flew onto the tyrannosaurus. Shana patted the tyrannosaurus's neck and said, "Little darling, let's go." The tyrannosaurus, receiving its owner's command, ran off towards Vain.

Vain stood below the waterfall. Even though he was over a hundred meters away from where the water fell, the massive roar still shook his ears, as if his eardrums were about to burst.

Ema shouted to him a few times, but he couldn't hear her. She had to walk up and tap him on the shoulder, shouting, "Be careful, there might be monsters in the pool!"

"What?" Vain couldn't hear what she said, and he couldn't hear his own question, so he just shrugged.

Ema sighed and wrote 'be careful' in his palm to remind him.

Vain smiled gratefully, "Thank you," and wrote 'thank you' in her palm. They both smiled at each other.

"What a huge waterfall!" Shana exclaimed, completely awed by the waterfall that spanned several hundred meters. It was indeed the world-famous 'Giant Dragon' waterfall. Hesmingfen, behind her, was so scared that his legs turned to jelly. He lay on the tyrannosaurus's back, eyes tightly closed and ears covered, both afraid to look and to listen, and was still shouting at the top of his lungs.

Crab sighed, not expecting the son of the deputy captain of the royal guard to be so timid. But since his father had asked him to take care of him, he woke him up, grabbed his collar, and with a few steps, landed beside Vain, pointing at Hesmingfen, indicating that Vain should take care of him.

But Vain, with his single-mindedness, didn't understand what the teacher meant.

Crab clenched his fist and made a fighting gesture, indicating that he should teach Hesmingfen how to fight. Vain, however, interpreted it as a challenge and immediately punched Hesmingfen into the pool. Crab, in pain, held his forehead, wondering how a student could misunderstand him so badly, and had to fly over and pull the panicking Hesmingfen out of the water.

Ema covered her mouth and laughed, calling him stupid. But he couldn't hear her.

They walked a few hundred meters downstream, and the sound of the waterfall became much quieter, almost inaudible. They made a fire and cooked a meal, with the two eagles Vain had, fruits and mushrooms from the forest, and a few fish Shana caught from the water, making a rich feast. It's no wonder they made so much food; Vain alone could eat as much as the other four combined.

Beside the fire, a rack was set up with branches. Hesmingfen, stripped down to his underwear, hid behind the rack.

Crab asked him, "Hesmingfen, can't you swim?"

"I can... Teacher," Hesmingfen lowered his head.

"Then why didn't you swim back?"

Hesmingfen said, "I was too scared at the time."

Shana laughed, "I've never seen such a timid man, not even as brave as a woman."

"You're not even a woman..." Hesmingfen stopped, realizing she was a woman.

Shana suddenly walked behind the rack, "Oh, you're quite well-built, how can you be so timid?"

Hesmingfen, seeing her suddenly appear, quickly covered his body, blushing and shouting, "Get away, get away, how can you be so shameless, leave here!"

Shana didn't leave, but instead pinched his arm muscles, "Very strong, but a bit soft. Clearly someone who spends all day training indoors, not someone who has lived in the wild."

Hesmingfen, feeling her touch all over his body, especially from a woman, found it unusually sensitive and uncomfortable. Finally, he couldn't bear it and bit her arm.

Shana, in pain, quickly pried open his jaw to free herself, frowning and saying, "I didn't expect you to be so bad at fighting but so good at biting. Humph!"

Hesmingfen, his face red with anger and embarrassment, shouted, "You're the dog, you're a bitch."

This insult made Shana very awkward, and even the teacher couldn't help but laugh.
