Chapter 82: The Conclusion of the Practical Exam

6 min read1,547 words

Amidst the lush grass, four girls were flying up and down, closely coordinating against the sudden attack of the monsters.

"Dorothy, guard the left side, I'll attack their leader."

"Go ahead, I'll take care of this side."

"I'll attack from the side, Boa, give me ice magic support!"

"Dorothy, I'll hide behind you, it's all up to you."

Dor was the main attacker against the monster leader; Dorothy guarded the left flank to cover her; Conelia rode a unicorn, weaving through the beasts, the magic from the unicorn's horn making the attacking monsters tremble; and Boa, hiding behind Dorothy, skillfully cast various spells to support Conelia's flank attack on the monster leader.

After a fierce battle, the ground was littered with the bodies of wild monsters. The four girls quickly bandaged their wounds, not allowing themselves a moment of weakness or despair.

Daisy clapped and walked over, a smile of approval on her face. "Very well done. It's hard to imagine that your first battle was so disastrous, seeing such excellent teamwork."

"With my magic support, winning beautifully is only natural," Boa said, raising her magic wand proudly.

Conelia said, "I won't be careless like before."

Dor cracked her knuckles. "Whoever doesn't do their job properly, don't blame me for beating them up!"

Conelia stuck out her tongue and smiled brightly.

Dorothy walked up to the teacher and laughed. "With such a beautiful teacher, how can we, the even more beautiful students, lose face?"

"Spoken well, Dorothy," Dor said, giving her a thumbs up.

"Hmph, you girls, a few compliments and you start getting cocky," Daisy said. "Alright, that's enough for today. The exam will be over in a few days. Let's start heading back now."

Conelia asked, "Did I hear that right? So soon! How many days have passed already?"

"It's been 23 days, little girl," Dorothy said, touching her chin with her black thorn glove. "Aren't you still having fun? Do you want to keep playing the four-person yuri game?"

Boa and Conelia both blushed, remembering the foolish things they did after getting drunk that day.

"You guys..." Daisy shook her head and smiled wryly. "Dorothy, I really don't know how your family raised you."

"Cut it out, teacher. Kissing and such, it's not like we did anything too overboard, don't be so old-fashioned," Dorothy retorted.

"Let's go, let's head home!" Boa shouted, jumping up and hugging Dor's back, her hand slipping inside her clothes.

On the other side, the scarred man panted as he looked at the three people in front of him, thinking, "Who are these guys? They're just students from Kulantin, but they're getting more and more fierce, attacking with such intensity."

The three people were Celt, Lo, and Sibel. Celt was the strongest, at 15 years old, he already had the strength of a mid-level knight. The other two, secretly competing with Celt, attacked more and more fiercely, almost going crazy in their assault on the scarred man, neither wanting to appear weaker than the other, leaving only Irina and the teacher to watch.

"Stop, stop!" The scarred man gestured, waving his hands. "No more, no more. If we keep fighting, it'll turn into a life-or-death battle. Damn, I'm really scared of you kids, each one of you fights like you're ready to die."

Irina stepped forward and huffed. "Who told you to try to steal... steal my friend's gun? I'm not afraid to fight you."

"Hey, hey, that was six days ago, I didn't really steal it. Why are you so grudgeful, little girl?" The scarred man sat down and said, "Forget it, give me a bag of water to drink."

Celt took a bag of water from his discarded bag and gave it to him. "The Blue Cross Mercenary Knights are pretty strong."

"Heh heh." The scarred man gulped down the entire bag of water and laughed. "I haven't used my full strength yet, otherwise you wouldn't be my match."

"Blowhard," Sibel said, unconvinced.

The scarred man didn't mind, throwing the water bag back to him. "Thanks, you guys are really interesting. Compared to your teacher, he's much less fun. He wouldn't even buy me a case of wine, otherwise we could have a big drunk together."

Irina glanced at Teacher Johnson and giggled. "When I first saw you, you looked so fierce, but you're actually quite interesting. You even chased away the mosquitoes for us at night."

"Hahaha, protecting girls is what a man should do. I like being helpful," the scarred man said. "Let me tell you, I deliberately made my face look this way because I thought it would be more intimidating. When fighting others, they're already a bit scared before we even start. By the way, do you want to try it? It might work even better for a girl!"

"No way, you jerk!" Irina cupped her face. "If I mess it up, how will I get married?"

"Yo ho ho, a girl in love, thinking about getting married..."

Suddenly, a griffin's call came from the sky, and Banogun landed with his guardian.

"Boss." The scarred man quickly stood up from the ground.

Banogun glanced at them and said to the scarred man, "Get on, there's something."

The scarred man jumped onto the griffin's back and waved to Lo and the others. "Thanks, guys, I had a lot of fun these past few days."

Lo and Irina waved goodbye to him. Irina said to Teacher Johnson, "Although he fought with us these past few days, this shouldn't count as a violation, right? He's not a teacher at the academy, just someone we met on our journey, part of the survival exam."

The griffin soared in the blue sky, agreeing to meet at the usual place in Fire Lizard City. This time, the boss suddenly coming to find him must mean something. The scarred man, noticing his weak appearance, said, "Boss, are you injured?"

"Yeah, I got hit by someone."

"Anyone who can injure you must be pretty strong, right?" the scarred man said. "I know why you came to find me."

"My injuries have improved a lot. I've been looking for you guys these past few days."

"Haha, Dattam is so big, it's normal to have trouble finding you."

"It's not that I couldn't find you at all," Banogun said with a serious face. "I found Boy's body a couple of days ago."

The scarred man was surprised. "Boy is dead! Who killed him?"

"I don't know, he died from a poison spell."

The scarred man thought for a moment and said, "It's for the best that he's dead. I've never liked him. He was a psychopath who enjoyed torturing children, probably because he was abused as a child. He must have gone to vent his sick mind on those students and was killed by one of the Kulantin teachers. It's for the best, really."

"You seem to hate him a lot, but you usually seem to get along well with him."

"I just didn't want to provoke him. Not just me, but none of the over a hundred people in the team liked him. But as a core member and a strong fighter, no one dared to offend him, they just talked behind his back. Speaking of which, White Fox is also quite twisted, but everyone likes her. Although she's scary, as long as you can resist her allure, she won't harm you."

Under the scorching sun, White Fox, wearing a white fluffy scarf, stood on a high cliff as if she didn't feel the heat. The strong wind at the top of the cliff blew her pale pink fur skirt, making it flutter constantly. A naked man lay next to her, but he wasn't quite a corpse yet.

The man's body moved slightly, as if trying to reach out and grab the woman's skirt, but he couldn't. His hands were too weak. His face was pale and weak, like a sick person, with loose skin, as if the essence of life had been drained from him. His high cheekbones made it hard to believe that just ten minutes ago, he was a strong, young man, not even thirty years old.

White Fox looked down at the emaciated man, her eyes filled with a hint of sorrow and regret. She said softly, "Don't blame me for your death. I haven't touched a man in a long time. I wanted you to know that this wasn't my intention. I'll give you a comfortable release. If you weren't so lustful, you might still be alive now." A transparent, pure water ball slowly formed in her palm. But for some reason, a small black dot appeared in the water, growing larger and larger until it became a small black worm wriggling in the water ball.

The water ball slowly floated to the man's mouth, dripping into it bit by bit, the small black worm entering his body along with the water. Soon, the man's originally weak expression suddenly turned excited, his eyes filled with bloodshot, and black, foul-smelling blood flowed from his nose, ears, and mouth. But he looked very happy, showing no signs of pain. The blood kept flowing, and he simply left this world with a smile...
