The teacher had the students help Xia Hou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan to the school infirmary. After the doctor examined them and saw that neither of them had serious injuries or broken legs, the teacher heaved a sigh of relief. After scolding the two of them harshly, the teacher left them in the infirmary and returned to the classroom to continue the lesson.
As soon as the teacher left, Xia Hou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan immediately glared at each other, their eyes blazing with anger. Then, they both froze, and with a chuckle, they burst out laughing.
The reason was that when they fell, their heads had hit each other twice, and now both had bumps on their heads.
Xia Hou Zhongying was particularly unlucky, hitting the same spot twice, resulting in a large bump with a smaller one on top, making him look like a unicorn.
Zheng Xiuyan, on the other hand, had two bumps, one on each side, making her look like the legendary Dragon Maiden.
At first, they mocked each other, but then they noticed that the other was laughing too. They both froze again, thinking that they probably didn't look much better, and quickly touched their foreheads.
When their hands touched the bumps on their heads, they both gasped in pain, then became furious, glaring at each other and shouting, "Damn it..."
Coincidence in the world is not uncommon, but such a series of identical actions happening at the same time is quite rare. It was as if they had planned and rehearsed it for a long time. Even the words they used to curse were the same, and they were in English.
Both of them had the same thought. Xia Hou Zhongying wasn't very good at Korean, let alone cursing in Korean. If he cursed in Mandarin, Zheng Xiuyan wouldn't understand. Cursing in a language the other person doesn't understand isn't really cursing, so they naturally used English.
Since the collision, Xia Hou Zhongying had been speaking English to both the teacher and the nurse, so Zheng Xiuyan naturally assumed he didn't know Korean and thought the same, thus using English as well.
The nurse, who had just entered the room, saw their identical actions and couldn't help but laugh, marveling at how well they seemed to be in sync.
Then, seeing the bumps on their heads, the nurse stared for a few seconds before bursting out laughing, tears streaming down her face.
Hearing the sudden laughter from the doorway, Xia Hou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan both became furious and glared at the door. Seeing that it was the nurse from the infirmary, they couldn't help but feel unlucky.
"Sorry, sorry, I couldn't help it," the nurse said, wiping her eyes as she laughed.
"What's going on? This is no way to behave," the head nurse scolded as she walked in, hearing the nurse's laughter.
"Ah, sorry, senior," the nurse was startled by the head nurse's scolding and quickly bowed to apologize. Worried and trying to hold back her laughter, her face turned both green and red.
"Didn't you know that the infirmary needs to be quiet? How can you be so loud..." The head nurse's words were cut off when she saw the bumps on Xia Hou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan's foreheads. Her mouth opened slightly, and her eyes and mouth twitched. She quickly turned and walked away, and a faint chuckle could be heard from a distance.
After the nurse, still trying to hold back her laughter, gave them their medicine and quickly left the room, Xia Hou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan glared at each other angrily, neither willing to back down.
"Damn you, I won't let you off," Zheng Xiuyan cursed, "You're dead."
"Who's afraid of who?" Xia Hou Zhongying, who was also furious, retorted, "If you have the guts, come at me."
After saying that, they continued to glare at each other, but since both of their feet were injured, they could only sit on the bed, unable to do anything to each other.
As Zheng Xiuyan glared, she thought about the big exam in two days that she couldn't participate in and couldn't help but cry, burying her head in the pillow on her lap. She forgot about the bumps on her head, and when they touched the pillow, she let out a painful cry.
Seeing Zheng Xiuyan's state, Xia Hou Zhongying couldn't help but want to laugh, but remembering that her injuries were partly his fault, he felt guilty and didn't dare to laugh. He sighed and fell silent.
Seeing that Zheng Xiuyan had been crying for a long time without stopping, Xia Hou Zhongying was both annoyed and guilty. He thought about whether he should comfort her but didn't know how.
After thinking for a while, he felt that offering to pay for her medical expenses and compensation was the right thing to do. Just as he was about to speak, saying "Hey," before he could continue, someone rushed into the room, shouting, "Xiuyan, Xiuyan, where are you hurt? Is it serious?"
The person who rushed in was Huang Meiyi, a fellow S.M. trainee who joined S.M. after participating in the S.M. Casting System in Los Angeles earlier this year.
Since they were both S.M. trainees and attended the same school, they had a good relationship. After class, Huang Meiyi went to look for Zheng Xiuyan and heard from her classmates that she was injured and in the infirmary, so she rushed over.
Huang Meiyi saw Zheng Xiuyan crying and wouldn't answer her questions, burying her head in the pillow and refusing to look up. She naturally assumed that Zheng Xiuyan was seriously injured and started to cry with worry.
"Um, she's fine, just a minor injury. She'll be better after a few days of rest," Xia Hou Zhongying, seeing the two of them, one crying and the other worried, felt it necessary to explain on Zheng Xiuyan's behalf.
Only when Xia Hou Zhongying spoke did Huang Meiyi realize there was someone else in the room. Hearing his voice, she remembered that Zheng Xiuyan's classmates had said she was injured because of another student who was also in the infirmary.
As a friend of Zheng Xiuyan, Huang Meiyi naturally didn't have a good impression of the person responsible, and she turned to Xia Hou Zhongying with anger, asking, "You're the one who caused this? You... um..."
Seeing the double bump on Xia Hou Zhongying's head, Huang Meiyi's anger and voice were cut off. Her face, which had been full of anger, became strange, torn between anger and laughter, not knowing what expression to show. The double bump on Xia Hou Zhongying's forehead was just too funny.
"Meiyi, you have to help me get revenge. It's this damn guy who hurt me," Zheng Xiuyan, hearing Huang Meiyi's angry words, lifted her head, tears still on her face, and said to Huang Meiyi.
"Xiuyan, um..." Huang Meiyi turned back, and just as she was about to speak, she saw the two "horns" on Zheng Xiuyan's head and froze again. Her face became even stranger, and after holding back for two seconds, she couldn't help but burst out laughing, even though she knew it wasn't the right time to laugh.
"Huang Meiyi..." Hearing Huang Meiyi's loud laughter, Zheng Xiuyan glared at her angrily, her lips trembling, too angry to speak.
"Sorry, sorry, I didn't mean to. Wait, I'll go out for a moment." Huang Meiyi, covering her mouth, laughed as she ran out.
The head nurse and the nurse in the nearby rest room heard the loud laughter from Xia Hou Zhongying's room, exchanged glances, and thought of the two people in the room, unable to help but smile again.
After the laughter, when Huang Meiyi entered the room again, she couldn't maintain an angry face toward Xia Hou Zhongying, looking at him and Zheng Xiuyan with a strange expression. Even after being scolded by Zheng Xiuyan, she tried to look fierce, but her face always had a smile, making her look more comical than intimidating.
"What's your name?" After learning that Zheng Xiuyan wasn't seriously injured, Huang Meiyi relaxed and asked Xia Hou Zhongying.
"Xia Hou Zhongying."
"Japanese?"
"Chinese."
"Do Chinese names have four characters?" Huang Meiyi asked, puzzled.
"I have a compound surname. Xia Hou is my surname," Xia Hou Zhongying rolled his eyes and answered.
"Oh." Huang Meiyi realized there were compound surnames and then asked with a strange look, "Are you the '100% Mr.?'"
"What '100% Mr.?' I don't understand," Xia Hou Zhongying asked, puzzled.
"Oh, you're the most famous person in school this week. You've only been here for five days, and you've been punished every day. So someone gave you the nickname '100% Mr.'," Huang Meiyi said with a strange smile.
Without Xia Hou Zhongying knowing, he had already become a notable figure at the school and had a fierce nickname.
"What '100% Mr.?' Who came up with that? I hope I never find out," Xia Hou Zhongying cursed.
"Sure sounds like a delinquent," Zheng Xiuyan, who hadn't been to school for over a week, had heard from Huang Meiyi about the recent school gossip, including the story of a delinquent who had joined her class. Hearing their conversation, she remembered and felt a sense of satisfaction, mocking Xia Hou Zhongying.
"You're the delinquent," Xia Hou Zhongying, who seemed to be naturally at odds with Zheng Xiuyan, couldn't help but retort at her disdainful expression.
"Not a delinquent, what then? Fighting, sleeping in class, and talking back to teachers—aren't these typical delinquent behaviors?" Zheng Xiuyan sneered.
"You're not much better. Running around the hallway during class and bumping into guys," Xia Hou Zhongying laughed, looking smug.
"You, damn it." Thinking that the reason she was in the infirmary was because of this boy, Zheng Xiuyan's anger flared up again, "You're dead. I won't let you off."
"Can you blame me?" Thinking about how he hadn't had a good day since coming to Kent, Xia Hou Zhongying felt very frustrated. Today was even worse, as he ended up in the infirmary because of Zheng Xiuyan. He naturally didn't have a good impression of the girl who had choked him, "You need to understand, you were the one who ran into me. I didn't even bother to make things worse for you, and you're blaming me?"
"So what if I ran into you? If you hadn't been blocking the classroom door, we wouldn't have gotten hurt. If you hadn't been holding a chair, we wouldn't have been injured," Zheng Xiuyan thought about how she couldn't participate in the company's end-of-month exam because of her injuries. She had heard from some seniors that the company was forming a girl group, and this exam was very important.
Zheng Xiuyan had been in S.M. for five years, even though she was only 15. The idea of being in the girl group was too important to her, and now it was all because of this boy. She couldn't help but hate Xia Hou Zhongying and started crying again.
Xia Hou Zhongying was about to argue back when he saw Zheng Xiuyan crying again. He couldn't help but wonder why this woman had so many tears. He couldn't bring himself to speak, muttering, "It's not my fault. The vice-principal required it. If you want to blame someone, blame the vice-principal."
Seeing the two arguing and hearing Xia Hou Zhongying's last mutter, Huang Meiyi's face turned strange, feeling both amused and exasperated.
