After the matter was explained, it turned out there wasn't much of a conflict. Zheng's mother recognized Xiahou Zhongying as her godson, making them one family, and things became easier to talk about. Xiahou Shang, Zheng's father, and Zheng's mother had a pleasant conversation, occasionally teasing Xiahou Zhongying and Zheng Xiuyan about the bumps on their heads, which made Zheng Xiuyan so frustrated she wanted to bang her head against the wall.
Understanding that Xiahou Shang was very busy and had no time to take care of the injured Xiahou Zhongying, Zheng's mother suggested that Xiahou Zhongying stay at their house for a few days, where they could take care of him. Xiahou Shang, feeling grateful and knowing his own situation, readily agreed without a second thought, repeatedly thanking Zheng's father and mother.
The most frustrated person in this situation was Zheng Xiuyan. Not only had her enemy become part of the family, but after learning that Xiahou Zhongying was a few days older than her, she was forced by her mother to call him "big brother," which made her so angry that she almost fainted.
Xiahou Zhongying, however, was delighted inside. Although he was unhappy that his father had so easily "sold" him, he was pleased that Zheng Xiuyan had to call him "big brother." Even though Zheng Xiuyan never called him "big brother," he started calling her "little sister" with a smug look, a typical example of a small person getting what they wanted.
While Xiahou Zhongying was still receiving his IV drip, Xiahou Shang called and very irresponsibly entrusted him to Zheng's father and mother. After getting the address of the Zheng family, he said he would visit when he had time and then left.
Xiahou Zhongying didn't feel anything about it; he was used to it. Although he lived with his father, his father was often busy, and he usually handled most things himself, which had made him independent from a young age.
Zheng Xiuyan, however, had a lot of complaints about Xiahou Shang. She thought there was no such father in the world who didn't care about his own son, didn't take care of him when he was injured, and just threw him away. Deep down, she was angry but couldn't stop it, especially because she didn't want to live under the same roof as the guy who had injured her.
When they returned to the Zheng family's house after the IV drip, it was already getting dark. As they got out of the car, they saw a little girl at the door, happily directing a mover to unload goods from a small car. She was holding a large stuffed animal in one hand and a new PSP game console in the other.
Xiahou Zhongying recognized the mover as his father's driver and knew that the goods were gifts from his father to the Zheng family. After all, the Zheng family was taking care of his son, and it wouldn't be right not to show some appreciation.
Seeing her parents return, the little girl, Zheng Xiujing, Zheng Xiuyan's 10-year-old sister, ran over happily, showing off the game console in her hand.
"Xiujing, what's going on?" Zheng's mother asked, confused.
"The mover uncle said a big brother is going to stay with us for a few days, and this is the gift from his father to me and my sister," the little girl explained happily. This new game console was something she had wanted for a long time, but it was too expensive, and her parents wouldn't buy it for her. Her allowance was controlled by her sister, and it wasn't much. If she had to save up for it herself, she didn't know when she could afford one. Regardless of what the big brother was like, he had already helped her achieve her dream, so she had a good impression of Xiahou Zhongying, especially since the gifts included many things she liked.
Xiahou Shang didn't know much about buying gifts for children. As the CEO of a state-owned company's Korean branch, he had many employees. He just explained the situation and told his secretary to buy the gifts. The secretary, not knowing what the Zheng family's children liked, and thinking that Xiahou Shang didn't mind spending money, bought a variety of things, including toys, stuffed animals, game consoles, snacks, supplements, and even meat, and had the driver deliver them to the Zheng family. This led to the scene at the Zheng family's door.
Seeing this, Zheng's father and mother were both amused and at a loss. They couldn't ask the driver to take the things away, as that would be awkward for both families.
"Come, Xiujing, call him 'big brother.' This is the big brother whose father sent you the gifts," Zheng's mother said, petting Zheng Xiujing's head.
"Thank you for the gift, big brother. I'm Zheng Xiujing. Uh, ah, ha ha ha..."
It was already dark, and Zheng Xiujing had been a bit far away earlier. She noticed there was someone with her parents but didn't pay much attention. Now, as she got closer and thanked the big brother, she took a closer look and couldn't help but laugh when she saw the double bump on his forehead.
Seeing Zheng Xiujing laugh, Zheng's mother was unhappy, worried that Xiahou Zhongying would be embarrassed, and scolded her, but she couldn't help smiling at the sight. Even when they first met, she couldn't help but laugh.
Zheng Xiuyan, seeing Xiahou Zhongying's embarrassed look, felt relieved and protectively pulled Zheng Xiujing to her side, smiling. She forgot that she also had a double bump on her head, which looked like a pair of dragon horns. Seeing the bump on Zheng Xiuyan's head, Zheng Xiujing laughed even harder, clutching her stomach and pointing at Zheng Xiuyan's head, tears streaming down her face.
Zheng Xiuyan, realizing she didn't look much better, became furious and joined her mother in scolding her sister.
The commotion at the door only ended when Xiahou Shang's driver finished unloading the items and came over to say goodbye to Xiahou Zhongying and the Zheng family.
After entering the Zheng family's house, Zheng's mother went to the kitchen to prepare dinner, Zheng Xiuyan stormed back to her room, and Zheng's father sat on the sofa, reading the newspaper while smiling at Zheng Xiujing, who was asking Xiahou Zhongying all sorts of questions.
Xiahou Zhongying felt awkward, not being very familiar with the Zheng family and having just met them for the first time. He had also injured Zheng Xiuyan and was now staying at her house, which made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
Adding to his discomfort were the questions from the precocious Zheng Xiujing, which almost made him want to run away if it weren't for his injured foot.
"Big brother, how did you and my sister end up like this?" Zheng Xiujing asked with a smile.
"..." Xiahou Zhongying was speechless.
"By the way, are you really a delinquent? I heard from Meiyi sister about you."
"..." Xiahou Zhongying's face turned black with embarrassment.
"You know Chinese kung fu, that's so cool. Meiyi sister said you beat up six seniors and sent them to the hospital. Can you teach me Chinese kung fu? Then I won't be afraid of my sister bullying me anymore."
"..." Xiahou Zhongying was at a loss for words.
"Will you? If you teach me Chinese kung fu, I'll introduce you to a girlfriend. There are many pretty sisters in our company."
"..." Xiahou Zhongying's forehead was sweating.
"Are you in love with my sister?" Zheng Xiujing tilted her head and looked at Xiahou Zhongying strangely, thinking it fit the plot of a TV drama where enemies eventually fall in love.
"..." Xiahou Zhongying's face turned pale, and his forehead was covered in sweat.
"My sister is fine too. I'll help you, don't worry. But you have to teach me Chinese kung fu." Zheng Xiujing was excited about her sudden idea. If Xiahou Zhongying could be with her sister, she wouldn't have to worry about her sister controlling her allowance anymore. By helping her sister find a husband, she could be free from her sister's control. This was such a good deal, and she was even more determined to push her sister into it.
"..." Xiahou Zhongying felt dizzy and couldn't remain silent any longer. The idea of being with Zheng Xiuyan, the violent girl, was absurd. He opened his mouth to explain.
"You have to be nice to my sister, especially to me. Remember, don't let my sister bully me anymore." Before Xiahou Zhongying could speak, Zheng Xiujing earnestly instructed him, "After all, I'll be your little sister-in-law, right?"
Zheng's father, listening to this, felt something was wrong and was speechless, not knowing how to react to his daughter's words.
"Stop, stop." Xiahou Zhongying was almost at his breaking point, quickly putting his hands down to stop Zheng Xiujing from continuing, his face pale. "As long as you don't mention your sister, I'll agree to anything you say."
Xiahou Zhongying didn't care that he was in the Zheng family's house and that Zheng's father was nearby. The thought of the situation Zheng Xiujing described scared him so much that he spoke without thinking.
"Aww, don't refuse so quickly. My sister is very pretty, you know." Zheng Xiujing, determined to push her sister, tried to persuade Xiahou Zhongying, not giving up easily.
Even though Xiahou Zhongying promised to agree to anything as long as she didn't mention his sister, Zheng Xiujing's main goal was to find someone to control her sister and stop her from bullying her. She was so determined to get Xiahou Zhongying to agree, as it would benefit her in every way, and kept praising her sister to him.
Xiahou Zhongying was almost in tears. What kind of kid was this, so persistent? No matter how much Zheng Xiujing praised her sister, he firmly refused.
