Chapter 16 – Emperors Kingdom’s 1st Knight Order Commander (4)

I was relieved when I saw Mizerost and Gaji, who had been on high alert, outside the magic circle.

If I die here, they can take care of everything else.

As soon as Virtua raised one of his hands, the 3rd knight order, who had been hiding, came into view.

We are outnumbered.

However, I was relieved when I saw the 3rd knight order.

They are outside the magic circle which means everyone outside it won’t be affected.

I thank Mizerost for selecting those who’ll come with us.

「Why are you doing this?」

「Why? Ganmirze, are you really asking that?」

「Do I look like I’m joking to you?」

「You want to free beasts that couldn’t even become humans. Do you think that’s funny?」

「Stop! You’ll incur the wrath of the forest!」

「Hah! Do you think saying that nonsense can save you?」

「Once Virtua-sama becomes king, he will make this country great again! You will never become king!」

Duke Gihard, who’s hiding behind Virtua, shouts loudly.

Given that he’s hiding like that, there’s no need to be wary of him.

He’s just a fool.

However, why did Virtua ally himself with such a person?

Does this magic circle have something to do with it?

I looked at the magic circle floating in the air.

「No matter what you do, it’s useless. This magic circle was made by the king and was his first step in dominating the forest.」

Was there a magic circle like this?

Looking at it, I saw a piece of the magic stone. He threw it in the magic circle.

About the same time, the 3rd knight order attacked Mizerost and the others.

When the magic stone touched the magic circle, it released its magic power.

A black shadow was created from the magic circle. It is probably in response to that magic power.

The black shadow clings to the bodies of those who were inside the magic circle as if covering them.

Their purpose is to make us fight each other but that’s not going to happen.

I took the small knight I had at my waist and pointed it on my neck.

「Stop! Ganmirze!」

At that moment.

Bright light poured down from the sky.

「Wh-what the hell is this?」

I can hear Virtua’s scream but I can’t see him because the light is too bright.

After the light was sucked into the ground, the black shadow clinging around us was erased in an instant.

When the light all subsided, I looked around and found that the magic circle was gone.

What happened?

Mizerost and the other looked around stunned.

There was no damage.

Other than the black shadow and the magic circle disappearing, nothing had changed.

When I looked at Virtua, he was just standing there with a stunned expression on his face.

Duke Gihard had collapsed with his white eyes wide open.

The members of the 3rd knight order saw the power of the forest with their own eyes for the first time.

They were trembling in fright given the sheer amount of magical power.

「Are you okay?」

Mizerost approached me fast.

Behind him is Gaji.

I raised one of my hands and asked the condition of the 1st knight order.

Some seem to have been slightly injured but none seem to have fallen.

「You were saved by the forest, Ganmirze.」

「Yeah, I was surprised.」

「But that magical power is more powerful than ever….was it because we were in the forest?」

「Maybe?....We have more important things to do. Let’s capture Duke Gihard and the 3rd knight order.」

Gihard is unconscious so he was carried out of the forest. The 3rd knight order is listening to orders obediently.

Perhaps because they realized the threat of the forest so they want to get out of it the soonest time possible.

I approached the stunned Virtua and called out to him.

「What? What happened?」

「That’s the power of the king of the world. He used it to help the slaves before and now, he used it to help me for some reason.」

「There’s no way he could have destroyed that magic circle! I even used the magic stone!」

「But for the king of the world, it can be erased in an instant. That’s about it.」

I left the forest with a saggy Virtua.

In a place that was almost outside the forest, we felt another strong magical power.

That made everyone a little confused.

「Calm down!」

Mizerost’s voice echoed through the forest.

「Ah, that is!」

One of the knights yells as he points to the sky.

When I looked up, I saw a red dragon which is said to be one of the kings of the forest.

It stopped right above us and everyone could tell that it’s looking at us.

A sense of tension drifted around us.

After a while, the red dragon went back into the forest.

「Amazing! That’s a dragon!」

「What an overpowering aura!」

「What kind of magical power is that!」

The 1st knight order must have been excited about seeing a dragon for the first time and they were talking with each other full of energy.

On the other hand, the 3rd knight order was trembling in fear. It seems like it doubled their fears.

Some slumped on the ground, some were clutching their heads in fear, and some were begging the gods for forgiveness.

Virtua slumped at the ground too while staring at the sky where the dragon had disappeared.
