Chapter 23 – The Fallen Apprentice

-POV of one of the apprentices that fell-

Why?

How did this happen?

I was the most powerful of all the apprentices and the closest to godhood.

And yet, I can’t be a god?

What do you know about me if you’re just a lesser god!

I’ll never forgive them.

They’re just low ranking gods who can only manage planets.

I was able to bring a planet into existence.

And I almost succeeded with the summoning technique that only greater gods can do.

And yet, you get in the way.

Lesser gods, do you think I’m just going to sit here in silence forever?

I suppressed my anger with a big exhale.

In order to break through my current situation, divine power is necessary.

Before I fell, they took my divine power away and even the core that stores it but I was able to protect a hidden core.

I examine the divine power store in that core.

It had about half the power I needed.

Damn, only half full.

Calm down, I can’t afford to make any mistakes at this point.

If my little brother was here, he would have said “endure a little longer”.

I was able to accumulate half of it so I only need to be a little more patient.

I remembered the planet that I had created with my own hands.

That planet must be gathering divine power for me right now.

Once the divine power is accumulated to a certain extent, each magic circle will start working.

It hurts that the forest barrier was broken but it is unlikely that the dragons will leave the forest.

The same can be said for the other monsters.

Surely, by now, the magic circles should be working and are on the way for the next step.

Even if a god came over to be the watcher of that world, it would only be a low level god.

I should be able to manipulate that new god with my power.

The more he was involved with that planet, the more it would slowly erode him.

There’s no way a lesser god could find it out.

Once the core is filled with divine power and all the magic circles are filled with divine power, the teleportation magic will be activated.

If that happens, I can return to the planet.

Once I’m there, it will be easy to regain my power.

I’ve made preparations for that.

I’m almost there.

Yes, just a little more.

Once I regain my true power, I’ll erase those that threw me.

Fuh, calm down.

There’s no point in venting my anger here now.

I’ve been warned by my little brother to not get too heated.

For now, I’ll just wait and imagine the scene of the planet gathering divine power.

I’m sure the things in the forest are also waiting for my presence.

….speaking of which, the person I dropped with the summoning technique is still alive.

I’m not really sure what happened to him.

I mean, why is he still alive?

No matter how many times I asked, I was never answered.

Yes, why was that thing still alive?

Based on my many experiences with summoning, he should have died when we threw him there.

Even if he didn’t die, there’s no way he reached that planet with complete body parts.

The summoning technique is a slightly time consuming technique that requires you to guide each body part to reassemble themselves on the planet.

How much time was wasted because I didn’t know about it.

It was a bittersweet experience for me when every one I summoned has parts missing from them.

And yet, that one had no missing part.

For some reason, I felt uncomfortable.

Yeah, I felt uncomfortable because of the existence of that earthling.

…..No, I shouldn’t bother with him.

If he’s on that planet, it means he’s already my minion.

I’m sure of it.

So, it’s okay.

-POV of another apprentice that fell-

Will elder brother be okay?

He has a lot of pride so I hope he doesn’t do anything rash.

The other one is probably done for.

That one had the weakest heart of the three of us.

The summoning kept failing, he became quite impatient.

Yeah, if he didn’t make a fuss like a fool, we wouldn’t have failed when we summoned a hero and we shouldn’t have been discovered.

We were found out because he made a fuss.

Sure, I was frustrated too because we kept on failing but I don’t think that’s enough reason to make a fuss.

Everything happened because he made a fuss.

If he’s not dead, I’ll find him and erase him.

Still, it was utterly disgusting to be thrown as a low level species.

What kind of stupid decisions did these lesser gods made?

They must have made the decision on their own.

Otherwise, my older brother and I won’t fall into this kind of predicament.

If a greater god happens to hear about us, I’m sure it will be them who’ll be thrown away.

I examine the divine power stored in my body.

It’s almost half full.

I’m doing better than I thought.

My older brother said it wouldn’t be a problem but I’m glad I took precautions just in case.

I’m worried about the progress of the preparation on the planet so I made sure everything’s perfect.

I’m sure things will go as planned.

I just need to wait here and get ready.

We will be teleported on that planet soon.

There’s just something that’s bothering me.

The summoning technique should have failed but that person is still alive.

We let go of him halfway through the process and dropped him all the way to the planet but somehow, he survived.

How did he survive?

I don't know how that could have happened. Both hero summoning and normal summoning failed when we let them go.

There’s no way he could be alive….

Fuh, even if I think about it, can I get the answer?

Well, he’s probably working as our miner now.

Once we get back to that planet, I could just look it up.

My elder brother is surely curious about him too.

If we can figure out what happened to him, I’m sure we can perfect the summoning technique.

Then, I’ll become a greater god.

That time, my elder brother and I will throw out those who have wrongfully judged us.
