Chapter 34 – Water Dragon Fluffy

-Fluffy’s POV, a water dragon that lives in the lake-

I turned my body smaller in order to be able to fly around his lordship’s abode.

I entered the room called the living room and saw the two sleeping angels.

There’s no way I’m wrong.

They are greater angels who serve gods.

The other dragons reached the same conclusion too.

However, I didn’t expect to meet them in this place.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I heard Koa’s story when she went out with his lordship.

The fact that there were greater angels on this planet is one thing but the box they were in was more of a problem.

Yes, I’m talking about the transparent box containing those greater angels.

I discussed it with the other dragons and those boxes can only be either of the two.

One, the first box of birth.

It was used to give birth to angels.

However, a first box has no cover which is completely different from Koa’s story.

In short, it should be the other one, the white box of return.

White box of return is used to erase the memories of angels or even erase their existence.

However, the use of these boxes is very restricted.

They can only be used under the following circumstances:

If the angel has committed a sin and the sin is something unforgivable.

If the angel’s heart became so dark that even god’s blessings can’t do something about it.

Other than these two, it will not be allowed to be used.

Also, the white box of return itself is stored with multiple layers of barriers.

Or at least that’s its normal arrangement. I don’t know in this planet though.

Next time a god comes, we should have a long talk.

About lots and lots of things.

To be honest, I didn’t believe what I heard from Koa.

Because of that, Fluff Ball went with them and found that it was really a white box of return.

What are those apprentices trying to do?

The moment it was confirmed that it was a white box of return, all dragons except for Fluff Ball got nervous.

If anyone other than the official owner touched the box, a curse would be triggered.

However, Fluff Ball said that the curse was activated but it shattered out of fear of his lordship’s power.

Honestly speaking, I don’t understand.

I’ve never heard of a curse being afraid.

A curse made with divine power used by a god is a curse that can’t be defended against no matter what.

That’s what I fear.

According to Fluff Ball, he saw the curse activating as soon as his lordship touched the cover but it was doing its best to avoid his lordship’s new power and then shattered because it can’t withstand it.

Perhaps the curse on the first white box of return had the same result.

Yeah, as expected of his lordship.

But there was one more thing that bothered me.

That is, the infant forms of the angels in front of me.

Normally, angels won’t get smaller.

So why did they turn into this?

And even if they are smaller….angels are still angels.

Unlike beast and humans, they never had a young phase.

However, the angels before me are both infants.

Flying Lizard confirmed that they can’t even stand up on their own.

Could it have something to do with the fact that they became smaller?

I have no idea.

And we can’t even communicate with them.

Angels were supposed to be able to speak but these two don’t even reply when we talk to them via telepathy.

I don’t get it.

I’m pretty sure they are angels because of the divine power in their bodies and wings.

「Did you find out anything?」

「Ah, Fluff Ball. I didn’t. I’ve been trying to send them telepathic messages but they’re not responding.」

「I guess it’s impossible. It’s probably because of the former apprentices that brought us here.」

「I think you’re right but, what did they do?」

A golem made by his lordship has come to check the greater angels.

I think it is already good that they’re not frightened upon seeing us.

The greater angels, who have opened their eyes slightly perhaps because they noticed the approaching golem.

I was surprised when I saw their eyes.

「Ah!」

「This is….」

Fluff Ball, who’s next to me, must have noticed it too.

There was cloudiness in the eyes of the greater angels.

Angels are made of divine power, the power that only gods can use, so there’s no way their eyes can be cloudy.

I checked the eyes of the greater angels closely but not to the extent that I’ll disturb the golem.

They are still cloudy.

The bigger greater angel has more cloudy eyes.

「This is a problem.」

「Yeah, they’ve been brainwashed.」

Yeah, the only time an angel’s eyes become cloudy is when they are brainwashed.

But who in the world did they brainwash greater angels?

Could it be by using the white box of return?

If I remember it correctly, it has a built-in magic that can erase memories.

It also has a function of inserting new memories.

Is there something that it can’t do?

I don’t think it’s easy to change the built-in magic but I can’t say it’s impossible either.

Thinking about it, it was those three former apprentices that brainwashed the greater angels.

Why did they do that? Did they give them some kind of order?

We’ll have to do something about this as soon as possible.

The greater angels are quite powerful and if they get out of control, we’ll be in big trouble.

I nodded to Fluff Ball and tried to fly away to the other dragons.

However, I wasn’t able to leave because I’m being pulled by something.

When I looked at it, I found the golem grabbing my tail.

「Eh? Can you let me go?」

I can’t understand the word it is saying so I shook my tail to tell it to let me go.

However, it didn’t let me go.

I put a little power and swing it around.

A dragon like me is strong.

However, no matter how strong we are, there’s no way we’ll use our full power at his lordship’s abode.

Why can’t it let me go?

When I was thinking why, I felt something happening near me.

When I looked at it, I saw Fluff Ball had also been grabbed by its tail and couldn't leave.

As I looked at him and wondered what we should do, I suddenly saw a white light in the corner of my eyes.

I hurriedly turned my gaze and saw a greater angel was about to attack.

I panicked…..

I was stunned when I saw what happened next.

The greater angel indeed attacked.

It shoots toward the ceiling where they were lying.

However, something absorbs it quickly and nullifies it.

「Fluff Ball, what’s going on?」

「How would I know?」

I notice that the discomfort in my tail is gone.

It seems like the golem has let me go.

In the meantime, the attack of the greater angel continues.

However, none of them worked since they kept being nullified.

I look above the place where the greater angels are.

There’s something moving around there….monster core.

The power of his lordship is slowly pouring down from there.

The power is slowly but surely pouring down on the greater angels.

「This is his lordship’s monster core, isn’t it?」

「Yeah, that’s definitely using his lordship’s purification power. Can it deal with the brainwashing magic?」

「I don’t know but it’s his lordship’s power so…」

I agree with what Fluff Ball was saying.

IT’s his lordship’s power so it can do something about the brainwashing.

Meanwhile, the greater angels continued to attack.

The golem looked at the angels for a while then, left the room as if it was only here to check the monster core’s performance.

After a while, the angels fell asleep as if they had used up all their accumulated power.

「It looks like we don’t need to worry.」

「Yeah, the golems that his lordship made seem to know what they’re doing.」

I agree with Fluff Ball.

Perhaps it grabbed our tails because we were getting in its way.

We tried to stay out of the way but it seems like we failed.

「I wonder if his lordship knows about this.」

「Fluffy, why are you even asking something so obvious? Of course, he does, those are his golems.」

「Right?」

「Yeah. I think that’s why one of the golems was here. It’s to help us.」

「Come to think of it, his lordship took a golem with you last time.」

「Yeah, given what’s happening, it’s for the sake of the greater angel.」

As expected of his lordship.

His power knows no bound.

I turn my attention to my surroundings.

I can see that his lordship’s new power is enveloping me.

I feel warm and gentle.

This is my favorite sign of his lordship.

「Fluffy, let’s go. The others are probably worried. Let’s report the result as soon as possible to let them feel at ease.」

「Yeah, you’re right. His lordship is amazing.」
