Chapter 41 – Villages and Towns…Eh, Me!

I no longer feel any magical power from the vast field below.

I’m relieved.

In the first place, I don’t even know what caused it so I thought magical power will return after some time.

However, it seems like I’m only thinking too much.

Currently, I’m in the sky over the vast field outside the forest.

Yesterday, I spent the day trying to get rid of magical power so I smuggled myself in again today.

I have no knowledge about this world after all.

Since I don’t speak their language, the only thing I can do is to learn things visually.

When I realized that, I was blown away.

I’m always overthinking things so I wasn’t able to think about something that simple.

Because of that, I decided to check out the surrounding countries.

I was concerned about the fact that I couldn’t even get their cooperation since I couldn’t even speak their language.

However, it can’t be helped so I gave up.

Once humans make a breakthrough, they will be strengthened.

That’s why I’m going to break through their airspace again.

If they have any problem with that, they just have to look for me in the future.

I’m sure I can do something with more knowledge….probably.

And today is the day I’m going to find out if the beastkins and animals are the same creatures.

I came here with great enthusiasm but, how can I find that out?

I thought of a lot of things but I couldn’t come up with anything.

Anyway, I was tired of looking at the fields so I decided to go to the town.

Maybe I’ll come up with something there.

From the sky, I could see a lot of densely packed, scattered houses.

That’s probably a town.

I feel that the number of houses is too few but I couldn’t tell from here.

Let’s go and check it out.

I pointed in the direction of the town and asked Koa to move.

There are houses around the field but I think they are villages.

I’m a little excited about going to my first town in this world.

Chai, who’s next to Koa, has started running.

Other than them, we are also accompanied by Chai’s friends, Chata and Charu.

I can’t tell the pups apart but I can somehow tell the parents apart.

Maybe because their names are suitable for them.

With Koa’s speed, we arrived at our target town in no time.

Somehow, I thought this world is similar to Japan.

But the houses I’m currently seeing were the same as the houses built in the villages I passed through.

Was it not a village house but the normal house in this world?

Earthen walls and roof made of straw-like things.

This should be similar to ancient Japanese countryside, right?

Not exactly the same but that’s the impression it is giving me.

Or would it be different if we went to a town with a higher population?

We took a look around the village.

There were about 50 houses.

The houses are basically one-story buildings.

Looking around, there were only two two-story houses.

And I can see really far.

They can just produce water using magic, why are there wells?

This is strange.

Aside from those, I also noticed that there are only wagons here instead of cars.

Come to think of it, I can’t find a car at all.

Maybe they don’t exist in this world.

The animal pulling that carriage is….not a horse.

It looks like a horse but why does it have 6 legs?

Could it be a monster?

No, it’s pulling a carriage so it should be an animal, right?

What should I do? I feel like I’m scared to meet the animals of this world.

Ah, they found me.

A man came out of his house and froze when he saw us.

All I can say is “sorry”.

「Koa, let’s move.」

Let’s search for a town.

I don’t know if that thing is a monster or an animal but the creatures of this world are a little scary.

Perhaps the animals are like that too….

After a while, I heard a loud shout from behind me.

I looked around and found a place that was a bit far away but it seemed to have more tall buildings.

I checked the buildings in the town but they didn’t look much different from the village.

At least they have buildings with more than two stories.

But there are still wells in the town.

Houses are built around the wells.

I don’t know what happened after that.

「Koa, go down a little bit.」

Using gestures, I commanded Koa to descend and she did so slowly.

As we descended, I could clearly see the faces of the beastkins.

There was no sadness on their faces. They are even smiling.

I wish for them to be happy for all the pain they suffered because of those three idiots.

However, what I found were adult beastkins.

They look like humans but with ears and tails.

They’re similar to Usa and Kuuhi.

I can’t tell any more difference other than that given our distance.

It seems like we’ve been spotted.

A lot of people are shouting as soon as they see us.

「Dangerous. Koa, let’s go.」

I pointed to the right and urged Koa to move.

Koa looked around then rose up and ran in the direction I pointed as if nothing had happened.

Why did she look around?

Is something wrong?

「Koa, over there!」

Something moving was seen by my eyes but it’s too far and quite hard to see.

And there are many of them.

I hope they are what I’m looking for.

Yeah, I found a place that looked like a farm.

And there were animals running around.

I don’t know what kind of animals they are.

They were around the size of a cow with drooping ears.

Their legs are not very long and they have stocky bodies.

It’s hard to describe them but they are running around….

They are not very cute but I think they have their own charm.

After making sure that there were no people nor beastkins around, I asked Koa to get down on the ground.

When Koa came down, the animals approached us at a certain distance for some reason.

…..they are bigger than I thought.

There are too many big things in this world.

Come to think of it, the people and beastkins I saw a little while ago are also big.

Maybe I’m the midget of this world.

「Uwaaa～」

I haven’t confirmed the height of the beastkins I found until now since I’ve only been looking at them from above.

Even so, that’s quite shocking.

In Japan, I’m considered to be tall since I’m 180cm.

But first thing first, I have to make sure that the animals in front of me are not beastkins.

There’s no car.

And the animals are big.

….or perhaps I’m a midget here?
